Hey Jack, thanks for your feedback. Luckily, everything you mention is in the works or we already knew about =).

    - Auth and colors are coming (Lamperi is working on it)
    - PM will be in the beta that is coming soon
    - The tournament announcements is due to small bug with HTML display that was introduced in 0.6, it'll definitely be fixed in the next release, major or minor.

    Thanks for playing!

Not to be a begging prick, but will there be an iPhone/iPod Touch-compatible version coming soon? Good job getting it up on the Droid platform.

As mentioned previously, there's no iOS devs who have time to dedicate for making a PO app.

This is alpha software, it's meant to be tested. It doesn't have all features or perfect usability yet, so please wait until planned features are completed. Landscape mode will be implemented eventually, but it's not the most important right now.

Out of curiosity where would you like to see landscape most: in the registry/login, chat, or battle? Because if there's really a strong desire for landscape in registry/login or chat we could probably do it. However the battle activity really has a lot of parts and is going to need more work even in portrait, so landscape probably won't happen too soon there.

My PO app keeps crashing everytime I try to find a battle.
I import my team using the QRcode scanner, and that seems to be working, and I can connect to the PO server and chat without any problems, but it crashes everytime I press the Find Battle button.
    Anyone know what's going on?

Also, I can challenged myself with my computer, and I can accept on the app, but it crashes immediately, even though the battle started on my pc.

CaptainLizard, please send us the crash report from your app. Without it, we don't know if it's a problem with your setup or the app. Start a battle and let it crash again, then when it asks you to open the crash report, click an email app and send it to us. Thank you!

IMO landscape is only needed for the chat and the sign in. Not needed for the battling at all

We can do that for chat and sign in because landscape mode is required for phones with slide out keyboards. This will be integrated into a future release.

Mecsnt, in game chat is already implemented, but has not been released yet. It will be in 0.7 for sure. Be on the lookout!

    I have a question:

does the Android App allow users to talk with your opponent?
I am just making sure before I decide what kind of smart phone I want. Because of Pokemon Online, I am now leaning towards the Android.

so any Android works for Pokemon Online?

and one final question, is the Chat on PO connected to the Chat on IRC? I am jist curious.

Thanks for looking at my questions. :)

Next release will allow channel chatting and battle chatting. Private messages aren't implemented yet.

Any Android which has firmware 2.1 or newer. Some phones may still have 1.6 but are upgradeable.

PO and IRC are not connected. Though both have the concept the private messages and rooms/channels, they are otherwise different.

    Thanks for clearing that up.
One more question, is the app downloadedable from the site, or from the Android version of the app store?

First of all, hi to everyone xd
Second Congratulations for this app its awesome :)
But third and sadly i have a complain
It would be possible to have an option to resize the "windows" when you are battling?
Because in my htc wildfire i cant read the battle log while im battling and that is a little bit annoying >_<.

    240 × 320 capacitive touchscreen

Unfortunately, this is less what Android supports in general (480x320 is the small size defined at developer's site http://developer.android.com/guide/practices/screens_support.html). I do have and idea of making to make it viewable even with very small screens, but do not expect it to be priority 1. Of course this is without discussing with other android developers.

Nothing fancy, but we could cut few pixels from the Pokemon view and some from the Attack buttons in order to make the textview match better. I didn't even try this on emulator yet, but I hope we could do something >.>

Landscape mode is the only thing I really want to suggest. For chat and battles. :D

hey' i was having the same problem as a previous guy did - CaptainLizard. i crashes whenever i accept a challenge.
i submitted a crash report, hope you guys got that.
btw' does my team file have to have ext .tp? because i tried both with and without and it obviously can read them regardless. dunno if that has anything to do with it, wanted to make sure.
and also, im running honeycomb 3. something.

This is a known bug with 0.7 it has to do with the database version changing and the app not properly updating. The documentation for this is quite poor, and it's difficult to test, so it might not go perfectly, but we're aware and working on it. Sometime (probably tomorrow) we'll release 0.7.1 or 0.8 which should have a potential fix for this.

In the meantime the simplest solution is to clear your data (in settings to go manage applications, find pokemon online, and then press the button that says something along the lines of "clear data"). This means you'll have to re-import your team, but should allow you start battles. Uninstalling/reinstalling also achieves the same effect.

I've been driving and riding roller coasters all day, the next update will go up early afternoon UTC. As Mikewando said, this hopefully will fixes the database issue, but please let us know if it doesn't.

Have you tried version 0.7.5? We tried to fix the database issue, but it still might be broken.

    I has another suggestion.

    Server history.

I don't know about everyone else, but the registry is down 50% of the time when I try to use the app. Wouldn't it be useful if we had a function that saved the IPs and names of the servers we'd been to in the interim between now and full release when the registry crashing is fixed?

The registry being "down" is a known bug. Just kill the app and restart it to get the registry back. But yes, remembering the IP of the last connected server will probably be implemented soon.

Will it ever be possible to create teams on the app itself?

Eventually yes, but that is quite a bit down the road unless someone else wants to pick up on it. It can definitely be an entirely separate app or rolled into ours.

I have a Coby Kyros MID7015 tablet, so if you still need to check for support I can do so in about an hour.

We have a couple tablets now and the app works, it just could look a little better. Working on improving that is somewhere farther down the line probably.
