Now, if monotype triples was a real tier, this team would be awesome. But again, cant win em all. I swear thought that the surprise factor of this team is something. No one suspects this. FIRST LOOK Team building Now, this team is pure gold. And i'm giving it away. Aw well. Now, the first thing I knew was I want to lightning rod troll. So naturally, I went for Seaking, since it gets the most use out of it. After this I basicly knew i would need water pokemon to take full advantage of it. So I was thinking that a Politoed would be good. Then a parasect. But, no. NO. I have tried. But I digress. Now, To make full use of seaking, I was in need of Water absorbing pokemon. So I looked on the roster and decided i wanted those. So After: Now, if anyone here has more than 2 cells, they understand right away that my seaking NEEDS those Thunderbolts. NEED. No choice. But after some testing with the politoed and parasect, I came to the fact that you cant let Seaking loose like this. Since its my core, It needs support, A LOT of support. So without any recovery, i was in need of healing pulse, And since my team is based around that surfin' i needed a slowbro. Yeah, big bad Slowbro. And since I couldnt lead with my seaking, I added Vaporeon to the mix. So know the team looks like this: Ok. Then Naturally, I looked at Gyarydos. The meaning of no electric damage is the meaning of only stone problems. But again, I looked at my team and realised how slow it is. And then the lightbulb called, I need to put Trick room. It decimates everything with this speed and bulk. So then I looked at Mantine and realized it doesn't do much. Then I looked Mantyke and WOW. Eviolite on this thing rapes. So I added a Mantyke to the mix. So full team: DEEPER LOOK @ Life Orb Trait: Water Absorb EVs: 252 Def / 252 SDef Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd) - Thunderbolt - Stockpile - Substitute - Ice Beam So basic stuff here, Boltbeam for coverage BUT also to get those lightning rod boost. From experience seaking always dies at one point so better be cautious. Substitute the first turn and T-bolt next. Ice beam is for annoying Grass type. Stockpile is too had even more bulk. @ Leftovers Trait: Water Absorb EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd) - Scald - Acid Armor - Substitute - Baton Pass Without this, the team doesnt work. It's as important as the core. Get that acid armor boost, and PASS IT. Or if you see that the opponent has type disadvantage, put a sub up before passing. Get this to Seaking and your ready to go. But since vaporeon gets that awesome ability, recovery here is awesome. So burn everything to ashes, put a acid armor up and enjoy the show. @ Leftovers Trait: Regenerator EVs: 252 HP / 52 Def / 8 SAtk / 196 SDef Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd) - Heal Pulse - Toxic - Psychic - Trick Room Again, IMPORTANT AS SHIT. No words how this slowking is important. Since you need this trick room to start the rampage, and heal pulse to heal that seaking. Since in most case he will be the fastest pokemon to go, your pretty much sure that you can heal the seaking before it dies. Psychic and Toxic are filler. @ Leftovers Trait: Lightningrod EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd) - Surf - Ice Beam - Psybeam / Protect - Substitute There it is, big bad seaking. So meaningless to those people out there. He always gets revenge. ALWAYS. So here, Substitute can be important since its kind of frail. Other times, Use surf to heal your pokemon AND damaging the fools that tries to kill you. Ice beam for annoying grass and psybeam for lulz. You won't use anything else. Protect works too since the magical power of lightning rod pierce the almost unpenetrable protect. Anyhoo, this sums it. Try to keep seaking here as much as you can. @ Eviolite Trait: Water Absorb EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd) - Wide Guard - Bounce - Toxic - Substitute Well here, Substitute is beast, as always. Toxic to stall and Bounce to para annoying people. Wide guard is for maybe upcoming earthquake or blizzard. Mainly Earthquake since Blizzard sucks. Always useful stuff. @ Leftovers Trait: Water Absorb EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd) - Ice Shard - Curse - Thunderbolt - Heal Bell Big bad Lapras. T-bolt is to get those boost even if Lanturn died. Curse to get those boost and STAB ice shard is awesome. Can't go wrong. And even now, you can put heal bell. Since your worst enemies are status ailments, heal bell is here to the rescue. Well that sums it. Try it and you love it. It's kinda trolly though. And I know my big lack is actually to counter those water pokemon. Since they too gets a boost, you basicly need to switch out your Seaking to use T-bolt on them. Any suggestions are welcome and Please RMT.:o Spoiler Lanturn (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Water Absorb EVs: 252 Def / 252 SDef Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd) - Thunderbolt - Stockpile - Substitute - Ice Beam Vaporeon (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Water Absorb EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd) - Scald - Acid Armor - Substitute - Baton Pass Slowbro (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Regenerator EVs: 252 HP / 52 Def / 8 SAtk / 196 SDef Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd) - Heal Pulse - Toxic - Psychic - Trick Room Seaking (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Lightningrod EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd) - Surf - Ice Beam - Psybeam - Substitute Mantyke (M) @ Eviolite Trait: Water Absorb EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd) - Wide Guard - Bounce - Toxic - Substitute Lapras (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Water Absorb EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd) - Ice Shard - Curse - Thunderbolt - Heal Bell[/HIDE]
Easy, name me Pokemons that are weak to electicity and immune to water attacks. In a good way, dont say cradily since it eats the surf away.
Seaking isn't that hard to take out y'know, and once its gone, your team is raped. Your also forgetting something else...Grass- beats Water- too, so you're gonna get destroyed by a Serperior, especially Scarfed. You might want to switch out Seaking, and maybe Mantyke...and Lanturn...and possibly Lapras. Stick to one water type, at most two, or switch to a monotype team if you want to keep this team (which is still destroyed by Electric- and Grass- monos).
Again, since my team is based around its own bulk, and Water absorb recovery, It can take serperior hits. I have more Ice beam users than i have water type moves user. I didn't put a Quagsire into the mix since I KNOW that grass pokemon rapes water. But again. Maybe Rain would be better. Rain dish ludicolo could take out the problem. There is so much solution out there. When I see something aint workng, I swap it. I re work the team. And seaking gets 1 or 2 acid armor boost before getting in play + has sub and max hp and max sp def. Yes he isint the Vaporeon. But no Scarfed Serperior cant rape my team SINCE OF TRICK ROOM. jeez. Read fully before starting to say how bad it is.
@Samerai Triples and monotype are very, very different, and the mechanics involved in this team would fail under Monotype. :P
This team is not bad. Interesting choice with Mantyke btw. I've used Mantine so far. Seaking can be of use in Rain teams that use a lot of things weak to water, so I commend you for using that. But on the other hand, the fact that you are not leading with Mantyke means moves that hit all Pokemon from faster opponents will give you trouble. Such as a powerful Explosion (if it sets off before you can set up a substitute). Discharge teams will give you problem too. Granted, Seaking will get a few stat boosts from it but it won't be enough to overcome it.
I would definitely suggest trolling with basculin. You also might want a gyarados... you have absolutely no dedicated physical attackers, and I'd be worried about a simple special wall destroying you. If you really wanna keep it all water, a nice strong physical water would be great.
