Intimidate: (Correct) 1 Poke vs 2 Poke I have Poke 1 Poke 1 is slower 2 Poke switches mence Poke 1 is about to switch to Poke 3 (Both players switch at the same time) Before Poke 1 is switched to Poke 3, Poke 1 should be hit with Intimidate, after Intimidate, Poke 1 then switches to Poke 3. What it is now... 2 Switches to Mence 1 Switches to 3 3 is hit with Intimidate instead of 1. Abilities Glitch. Basically, when you switch in a Pokemon like Salamence or Tyranitar, their ability activates before they take Stealth Rocks or Spikes damage, where in the cartridge games, they are supposed to take damage from entry hazards first before their ability activates. It seems (from what someone has told me) that some of the mechanics issue from shoddy are present in PO. There were more issues I was told about but I forgot them. Instead of Mence Intimidating 1 before the second switch, it decides to Intimidate Poke 3.
I did a lot of videos watching, and I can tell you're right about the "ability glitch" but about the intimidate thing, it doesn't work like that for end of turn switch ins (after Ko). For begin of turn switch ins, you're free to do ingame testing or show me a video that proves your point.
Decided to make a vid and test it on PO. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4vsVW2lXKE ^ Ignore the beginning of battle Intimidate. Log ---------- Battle between Joe Steel and Silent Storm started! Rule: Rated Tier: OverUsed Silent Storm sent out Heatran! Joe Steel sent out Thunder God! (Zapdos) The foe's Thunder God is exerting its Pressure! Start of turn 1 Joe Steel called Thunder God back! Joe Steel sent out Uncle Sal! (Salamence) Silent Storm called Heatran back! Silent Storm sent out Suicune! The foe's Uncle Sal intimidates Suicune! Suicune's Attack fell! Suicune is exerting its Pressure! Basically the "same" situation.
Got a few more issues with the mechanics. Choice items & struggle. Basically when you run out of PP while having a choiced item, instead of allowing struggle, the sim freezes so you either have to forfeit the game or wait for the timer to run out. Ingame, it makes you use Struggle. Protect. When you protect on a switch, next turn Protect is 100% guaranteed to work. But on PO, you only have a 50/50 chance of Protect working. Trick & Knock Off. Basically, if a faster Pokemon knocks off an item before you trick, the pokemon that used trick gets their item while you are left with nothing. In game, trick fails if one of the two pokemon lacks an item. That and Protect doesn't fail on the switch turn.
Regarding Trick and Knock Off, I am gonna test that in-game. Smogon's Trick move page agrees with Silent Storm, but I've always thought that the simulator's current behaviour is correct. EDIT 1: Smogon's page is correct, the simulator is wrong. I read the above post incorrectly. DUH. Choice Items do indeed make you Struggle if you run out of PP. I'll test out Protect as well, just to make sure. EDIT 2: I currently can't check Protect's usage. If someone else can double check, it'd be nice. Smogon's Protect move page agrees with Silent Storm, but double checking would be nice. I might even find a youtube video... If Smogon's Protect move page is correct, Thunder and Blizzard can no longer break through Protect in Rain and Hail respectively. I don't know how the simulator handles these two either, but it'd be nice if someone checked those out as well.
Are you sure trick fails if one of the pokémons lacks an item? From what I saw on smogon it says it doesn't, it fails only if one of the pokémons was knocked off.
Bad wording on my part...what I meant was that it should fail once the Pokemon gets it's item knocked off, but instead trick till goes through. I have not tested with no item from the start so I wouldn't know.
And I tested the thing with the choice item: Click on the "Attack" button to use struggle. Edit: Trick will be fixed next issue.
