    My DW UU Team

    At a Glance
[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Introduction
This is my latest UU team and is probably my best and my favourite, so far it has peaked at #1 at 1502 points on the DW UU ladder. My teams most telling factor is that it doesn't have a set up sweeper of any sort, it depends on the pure of power or Nido, Staraptor, Alakazam and Terrakion to put dents in the opponents team. Whimsicott and Bronzong are there to support my team and provide SR and to annoy.

    A Closer Look

    Alakazam @ Focus Sash
    Ability: Inner Focus
Evs: 252 Sp Att, 252 Spd, 4 Spdef
    Nature: Timid
    -Taunt
    -Psychic
    -Focus Blast
    -Counter

Alakazam has been a fantastic lead thus far and does all the necessary things leads should do. First of all, with Inner Focus he can go through Fake Out leads and proceed to attack or taunt. As said before he has taunt to shut down Sleep inducing leads and entry hazard layers. After he has taunted he can either attack with Psychic or Focus Blast and my favourite move of this set Counter. Counter helps against Scarf leads and faster physical attackers like Crobat. Alakazam has proven to be a great lead and usually nets a kill each game. He can also come in mid game to attack or even taunt.

    Nidoking @ Life Orb
    Ability: Sheer Force
Evs: 252 Sp att, 252 Sd, 4 def
    Nature: Timid
    -Earth Power
    -Ice Beam
    -Fire Blast
    -Thunderbolt

Nidoking has changed alot since Gen 4, he is now a premier special attacker due to the awesome ability Sheer Force. Sheer Force boosts all of Nidoking's moves due to their side affects and Life Orb further adds to the power. With these 4 moves Nidoking gets amazing coverage and with his decent speed and now amazing special attack he can punch through many teams. Earth Power is obvious STAB, Ice Beam hits Grass types that resist Ground, Fire Blast also does the same while roasting Escavalier and hits Bronzong. Thunderbolt hits bulky water types like Alomomola and Milotic for good damage. Nidoking has been a superior member of my team and doesn't get walled by Chansey ( unless it comes back into UU) or Physical walls, due to it being a special attacker. I have no doubt that he will never be removed from this team.

    Whimsicott @ Leftovers
    Ability: Prankster
    Evs: 252 HP, 212 Sp, 44 SpDef
    Nature: Timid
    -Encore
    -Substitute
    -Leech Seed
    -Stun Spore

Ahh, Whimsicott such a cute Pokemon, but probably the most annoying one in the whole game! Priority Encore, Substitute and Leech Seed make it a perfect staller and Stun Spore adds to the madness of Whimsicott. The Ev spread allows it to outspeed other Pranksters like Volbeat and Tornadus, while keeping some bulk. Of course it has trouble with Grass types all he can do is stun spore and has obvious weakness to Magic Mirror users, although it does great against everyhting else. Whimsicott is probably going to be the Pokemon that will most likely be changed due to its 5 weaknesses and no attacking possibilities.

    Staraptor @ Choice Scarf
    Ability: Reckless
    Evs: 252 Att, 252 Spd, 4 Def
    Nature: Jolly
    -Brave Bird
    -Double Edge
    -Close Combat
    -U Turn

Staraptor acts as my scouter and revenge killer. He has a great ability in Reckless that boosts both Brave Bird and Double Edge, which are powerful STABs. Close Combat is a fantastic move in Staraptor's move pool because it destroys Rock and Steel type Pokemon who resist his STABs. U Turn is a great move allowing me to shift momentum to my side and can kill weakened pokemon. Staraptor can also revenge kill Boosted pokemon like Haxorus and Lilligant and can kill Scarf Darmanitan. He is a great pokemon who helps get rid of Grass types for Whimsicott and provides great power and speed.

    Terrakion @ Choice Band
    Ability: Justified
    Evs: 252 Att, 252 Spd, 4 def
    Nature: Jolly
    -Close Combat
    -Stone Edge
    -Earthquake
    -Sacred Sword

Terrakion is a beast of a Pokemon with his huge attack and amazing speed stat. Also his Rock and Fighting STAB moves are resisted by a measly amount of Pokemon, so it allows him to mow through teams with Close Combat and Stone Edge. Earthquake is good for poison type Pokemon especially Nidoking/queen and Sacred Sword is an excellent move to destroy boosted Pokemon like Curselax and Bulked up Scrafty. Overall Terrakion is a fantastic Pokemon with amazing damage output with Choice Band boosting all his moves.

    Bronzong @ Leftovers
    Ability: Levitate
Evs: 252 HP, 128 Def, 128 Spdef ( open for other suggestions )
    Nature: Relaxed
    -Stealth Rock
    -Gyro Ball
    -Earthquake/Rest
    -Toxic

Bronzong is an amazing defensive Pokemon with only 1 weakness and a load of resistances. He also supports the team by providing Stealth Rock and can poison bulky waters like Milotic and Alomomola and Ghost types since he doesn't really care if he is burned, only because it decreases his HP. Gyro Ball is good STAB that is usually at max power due to Bronzongs low speed. Earthquake can hit Fire types on the switch and will deal decent Pokemon. He can also counter Mamoswine, Metagross and Haxrous locked into Outrage, and many Grass and Poison types. Overall he is a fantastic Pokemon the provides the team with excellent support skills and is a key member of this team.

    Conclusion

Overall this is my favourite team and my most successful thus far. My team does well together and has a variety of different pokemon and does well without a setup sweeper due to power of the other pokemon.

    Threat List

Alakazam: He can hit many of my Pokemon for SE damage and is immune to Leech Seed thanks to Magic Guard. I usually just go to Bronzong or Staraptor for the U Turn.

Terrakion, Virizion and Cobalion: I usually use Staraptor to kill, Don't won't to risk a speed tie with Terrakion, Bronzong can check them due to his great defenses.

Metagross: The agility set is only countered by Bronzong

Suicune: It's always a pain for any team, Whimsicott can screw it over with Encore and Terrakion can 2HKO some variants. It is a big problem.

Durant: He can do serious damage to this team, my options are to encore with Whimsicott on the Hone Claws or Brave Bird with Staraptor when weakened a little bit, because of its good defense.

Can't remember anymore but I will update the threat list as often as I can.

So please comment and rate my team :)

    Lovely team!

I think a bulky ghost would help this team, such as Mismagius or Spiritomb as you have a bad time with strong fighting types.

-Alakazam. I think you should put Whimsicott in a lead position, and give alakazam magic guard with a focus sash. Give it Thunder Wave / Psychic / Focus Blast / Shadow Ball. Thunder Wave helps your slow team to sweep.

Thunder Wave also makes Bronzong's Gyro Ball a lot weaker, so I see no reason to use it. I like the team but I see you having problems with Suicune, since Encore doesn't have that much PP (And Pressure makes it have even less!) and Terrakion and Nidoking won't have fun entering in Surf (or Hydro Pump, but I'm talking about CroCune than its offensive brother, Hydro Pump CroCune isn't common).

I agree and disagree. i agree because Nidoking is my only Fighting resist and i could use more, however i disagree because if i replace Whimsicott, i lose the ability to screw with Suicune and if i replace Bronzong i lose SR. Thanks for the reply though and i have Whimsicott to paralyze with Stun Spore.

That is my big problem, Suicune, because Nidoking and Terrakion can 2HKO but is at the risk of being KOed by Scald or Surf, my only option is to encore it and then switch in Terrakion, or Nidoking if it hasn't Calm Minded. My other option is a Calm Mind Raikou, who can Clam Mind along side it and it can also check Durant (who I just realized my team is weak to). What do you guys think?

i would not really bother outspeeding tornadus with whimsicott as you have bronzong which checks it pretty well and (from my experience) tornadus isn't really... used. idk how much speed is worth running, though, i'd say just let it outrun volbeat.

i'm not sure what CM raikou would be used over... zam, i guess? i'd personally want to keep nidoking as it's pretty damn good, though the zam lead is a pretty nice idea. you could just run specs as well as it mutilates CMcune even when it's boosted (and allows you to use volt change if you want to lead with it).

Yeah i barely ever see Tornadus, and the key is to outspeed Volbeat so it can't baton pass, i was thinking Raikou over Whimsicott so it can check Suicune and try and sweep. I'm going to try Raikou now, but i like Whimsicott's Encore :/

EDIT: Took out Raikou and now testing Choice Specs Slowbro (it's quite a beast) Whimsicott is still an option.
