This is my OU team. I'm still new to competitive battling (only started about a couple of weeks ago), so I guess my team is perfectly justified if they suck. Just kidding. ---------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- Yanmega is pretty much a suicide lead. Switching him out is risky, as stealth rock inflicts 50% damage on re-entry. He can OHKO most phsycics with bug buzz, bar the tricky ones (Metagross, etc) but his best attack is air slash, purely because it has a decent flinching ratio. Skarmory is his worst nightmare, but he can still put up a decent fight. You may have noticed all but 2 members of my team are weak to ice. This is where Magmortar is handy, but his varied attacks works well against most, if not all pokemon. His lum berry makes sure he won't fall asleep if you encounter a Breloom. Unfortunatly he's hurt by sandstorm, but unlike Yanmega, you definatly want to keep him alive. Flygon is handy as he's speedier than most other dragons (granted they haven't used dragon dance yet) but still very strong. Ice tears him apart however, and his defences are pretty mediocre, so you have to be cautios when using him. Hippowdon's main purpose is to create a sandstorm for Cacturne, and also to lay down stealth rock. But he's a powerful pokemon in his own right, and his defences are not to be ignored - I don't think he's ever been OHKO'd (unless the critical hit ratio decides differentely) and it's not very common he's 2HKO'd either. However, NEVER pit 'Don against a ghost type - Earthquake is unneffective and Stone Edge is unreliably innacurate. Cacturne is the main star of the show - unless you're unlucky. His 30% evasiveness stat (assuming he's in a sandstorm) makes him safe enough to switch into and substitute out. Whilst sub'd, set up with a couple of sword dances then sucker punch their lights out. Focus Punch is handy against Blisseys and other stall Pokemon like Snorlax. The biggest disadvantage to Cacturne is Spiritomb. Sucker Punch has little enough PP without pressure (and that's assuming he even attacks), and Focus Punch doesn't affect it. Magnezone doesn't have a paticular purpose on the team, he just fills a niche. He's pretty reliable up until you meet an Earthquake user: then its time to switch out. So there you go. Criticisms and/or advice greatly appreciated.
Use the "Export to txt" feature to export your teams, don't do it manually. For example the case for EVs would be right then :p Also, no use talking about ubers when you're OU
Fix'd. Just because its OU doesn't mean you can't have a go at Ubers, but it is sorta dumb I guess. Removed Uber references.
I find your team a bit gimmicky. Certainly, once you set-up, its probably almost over, so I won't say it's bad. I'll comment a bit: your lead is your own to choose, Yanmega is more than decent. I can understand how Magmortar fits in, and his movepool is certainly impressive, but Heatran is just plainly a better pokemon if you ask me, and it fits a Sandstorm team better as well. Flygon... meh. I somehow can't see him become dangerous with that set, his stats are just too much of a let-down. I bet both Salamence and Kingdra can take his Dragon Claw and KO back, so being speedy will amount to nothing. maybe you could try Toxic? just a suggestion, I haven't seen your Flygon in play, but what you said gives the impression that he hasn't made a huge difference. a choice band Tyranitar would certainly contribute more to team damage. as for Cacturne, a gimmick is a gimmick. Yours is one of luck. If you're lucky enough, then I have nothing to say, other than that you should play the lottery more often.
Ripped straight from Smogon babeh. And thanks for the advice, I'll try it out. I just want to say... the reason I don't use Heatran is because I just get a bad impression from him. Yanmega always OHKO's him without fail, so I started to assume he was just overrated, but I suppose I'll try him out.
