First of all, I would like to say that whoever made this is amazing, and I love you. Now, this is a very cool program, so I was wondering if there's any way this can be ported to Windows Mobile. (And the iPhone/iPad, I guess.) Then this amazing game can be played anywhere I go. :) Again, thanks for the amazing program.

    Thanks a lot :)

And for the mobile, well I don't know. You'd need someone in the team or with developing skills having windows mobile and trying their hands on it.

I doubt it would work on Windows mobile. Apparently it can be compiled to work with mobiles that run the Symbian OS. I have an S60 which I'm gonna eventually try it on.

Easy way to do all of that is with a webbased version of pokemon simulator. I would gladly code that but need help understanding and finding basic concept of this c++ code and Qt frameworks

    That would be awesome.

Well first step would be to be able to log on and chat, and all what you need for that is the networking protocol. I'll put all what you need for that up and add more the more you need (and bump this topic).

I'm just curious, are you going to do something with the mobile connecting directly to the PO server (using java/flash sockets?) or are you going to use a webserver as an intermediary?

I've written a PO networking library in python and nixeagle in Lisp if you want them you might want to PM us. Though they have close to zero usage on Android / iPhone :)

    Also currently working on this:
    http://valssi.fixme.fi/~lamperi/pokemononline/powebtest.mov

If you want to help me on that / come up with a mobile UI you are welcome to get the code from git://valssi.fixme.fi/po-web.git

    Note: It's currently "hacked together".

Lamperi, you didn't tell me, i could have started that too :O

Also, same question, which networking technology do you use to relay with the PO server?

Also, rophiroth, I've started describing the network protocol: Now you can write a client that connects to the registry and gets the server list, then connect to a server and send/receive messages. Tell me when you need more and i'll add more info. (Other devs are welcome to contribute to it too :P)

Wonder if Window Mobile can work with C++, if that i could try to port PO to C++ (Hard, since not a big knowledge of C++)... But no idea.

Is a pretty cool idea, anyways. (Still plans to port it to Nintendo 3DS muhaa)

Me and my team have started serious work on developing the Android client. Check out our Google Code repo here: http://code.google.com/p/pokemon-online-android/. We hope to post a proof of concept soon. If anyone wants to join the dev team, just PM me with what skills you have. We are looking for people with experience designing and implementing Android UIs, experience with Java helps too.

Anyhow, you can always just check it out and watch our progress.

Hi, I just made an account to add something to this thread. A member of my Pokemon team, Ryuzaki (who runs the Skarmbliss server on PO), has been working on a mobile version of PO for close to a month now and has made a lot of progress. A few of you in this thread may want to consider collaborating with Ryuzaki in order to get the job faster. If any of you need a way to contact him, he is usually on #skarmbliss on synirc, but you can also contact through the Skarmbliss forums or AIM (pm me for screen name). Many have been waiting for this with bated breath.

Hey 3lmo, do you know what platform Ryuzaki has been doing work for and how far he has gotten? It would be awesome to get him on board too and merge his code into our tree.

He's been doing work for the Iphone/Itouch, and last time I checked he said that he was like 60% into it or something. I'll ask him to come on the forums but he's not into communities like this so I don't know.

Mm, if it's for the iphone there's no way it'll be allowed on non-jailbreaked iphones, but that's really great though, if finally it goes on both iphone and android!

If implement battles, name it differently, remove sprites, cries and use scrambled names for Pokes, items, abilities... Also I don't see any problem in a chat client named Penguin Overworld :)

    [17:28.06] <ryuzaki> Who said I wasn't???

I can assure you, as a skarmbliss admin, that ryuzaki is working hard on this. It is currently maybe even 65% done. He is making good progress on it.

This is great news because the Android version is moving along very quickly as well. It's so awesome to see so many people working hard on an open source project. Where is ryuzaki hosting his code? It would be great to see what he is up to.

    (Bluecookies is trolling too)

Unless the ryuzaki I talked to on #skarmbliss isn't the real one ^^

Meh, I wasn't trolling, if you look at our Google Code page we have made progress at a blistering pace. We just want to release something that works for all of the major things before we release it to you all. If you want, you can compile our code from source at any time and give it a go! =)

Hi! I suggest you guys to make your own thread instead of hijacking this. That way you can change the topic name and OP :-)

Also we could talk more development stuff there.

I think it could go under developer's den, it's not that crowded :P Some admin can modify the description a bit if needed and move the thread, so it's nothing final :-)
