Before the Bleeding Sun So yeah, during my study of the OU Triples metagame (aka watching Marmoteo's battles) I came up with this team, since Sun is my favourite weather along with Hail, and Fire is a pro attackig type, and it had different moves to hit all the pokèmons on the "wrong" side :3. Also, sun has the best abusers ever in it (Exeggutor, Brokenzard, SUNFLORA♥), so far I have those 2 that you see in the RMT, but they can easily be switched with many different pokèmons (Solar Power Charizard, Clorophyll Venusaur, Shandera has Heat Wave and a HUGE Special attack stat, many fire Pokèmons with Eruption/Heat Wave and many Clorophyll abusers. Tropius is also pro :D) At a glorious glance Under the microscope The trollface Exeggutor (F) @ White Herb Trait: Chlorophyll EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Leaf Storm - Psychic - Hidden Power [Ground] - Protect Ahh...Eggy, pro outside the sun, proer in the sun. I use him as a lead because he can get surprise kills against those damned Politoeds ;_;. Sun + Tailwind brings his speed to 816 (OVER 9000), Protect for scouting and stall, Leaf Storm to hit heavy, White Herb to restore his stats after the Leaf Storm, Psychic for stab and to kill those damned Roobushins that want to wall me with Wide Guard, and HP Ground because I hate Heatran Abooser number 1 Typhlosion (F) @ Fire Gem Trait: Blaze EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Eruption - Focus Blast - Protect - Heat Wave 1st hard hitter...Sun + Fire Gem + Helping Hand = kills everything, and what isn't killed is either called Heatran/Flareon/Rapidash/Kuitaran, or Politoed with rain backup, so it's not exactly worth it. Focus Blast is for Heatran :3. He is fast and has a cool special attack stat, as well as being neutral to Water attacks in the sun E(u)r(o)utrolling support Erufuun (Whimsicott) (F) @ Mental Herb Trait: Prankster EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Tailwind - Helping Hand - Light Screen - Sunny Day Proest support pokemon available for this team. Mental Herb to be sure to get that Tailwind/Sunny Day up, Light Screen is mainly filler, while Helping Hand helps my Eruptions/Heat Waves even more, causing them to overkill everything The sun is Bleeding... Ninetales (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Drought EVs: 96 HP / 252 SAtk / 160 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Heat Wave - Protect - Energy Ball - Hidden Power [Ice] Obvious...gets the sun up, hits with Heat Wave, and HP Ice is for Dragonite, that otherwise it's a problem for my team. Energy Ball is for...well, dunno exactly what is it for, but it may help vs Politoeds/random water pokèmons I EAT FIRE, I AM COOL HURRDURR Heatran (F) @ Fire Gem Trait: Flash Fire EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd) - Eruption - Earth Power - Protect - Heat Wave 2nd Sun Abooser. Earth Power is for most of the fire Pokèmons, while Eruption + Heat Wave KILLDESTROY (term copied from Ginku) everything with sun + helping hand support, Protect again is to scout/stall, and it helps. Fire Gem is to increase the damage of the 1st fire attack I throw. I know, Quiet nature sucks, but it's required to use Eruption ;_; And last but not least... Cute useless pogeyman♥ Latias (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Helping Hand - Tailwind - Heal Pulse - Protect 2nd Support pokèmon. Tailwind is for superspeed, while Heal Pulse is to allow my Heatran/Typhlosion stay healthy enough to throw a powerful enough Eruption. Helping Hand is to support the attackers even more, and Protect is to...guess what? Scout and Stall :3 Last Look Importable for all the stealers :3 [SECRET]Exeggutor (F) @ White Herb Trait: Chlorophyll EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Leaf Storm - Psychic - Hidden Power [Ground] - Protect Typhlosion (F) @ Fire Gem Trait: Blaze EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Eruption - Focus Blast - Protect - Heat Wave Erufuun (Whimsicott) (F) @ Mental Herb Trait: Prankster EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Tailwind - Helping Hand - Light Screen - Sunny Day Ninetales (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Drought EVs: 96 HP / 252 SAtk / 160 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Heat Wave - Protect - Energy Ball - Hidden Power [Ice] Heatran (F) @ Fire Gem Trait: Flash Fire EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd) - Eruption - Earth Power - Protect - Heat Wave Latias (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Helping Hand - Tailwind - Heal Pulse - Protect[/SECRET]
This team's pretty pro. I think Light Screen and Cloud Nine will forever troll you (aka my TR team <3 :P). Wide Guard can be a problem too since your team relies in pulling off those precious eruptions. Rain teams that are good at keeping control of the weather will give the team problem. With Rain in play, you'll either have to switch out-in Ninetails or activate Sunny Day with Eruufun. The latter means that you'll be losing precious turns to set up Sun, turns that you won't be helping handing or setting up Tailwind. Granted, you got Exeggutor to troll water types, but Mantine will be walling your team, while still being able to use Wide Guard. Considering Mantine is the proest Wide Guard user on Rain teams, that brings problems. Another thing to watch out for will be priority moves , which will lower Eruption's attack, and Tailwind will not be able to do anything about it. Mach Punch is probably the most dangerous one, due to hitting Heatran for super effective. EDIT: Also, I realised that Tailwind is obviously gaining popularity. If you face any other team that is using Tailwind, there's a high chance that you might be on the slower side. Specially considering you're using -Speed nature Heatran and Typhlosion's speed leaves a little bit to be desired.
I know I said it sucks (only because weather ;_;) but this team is pretty cool. Generally balanced. But i would recommend using at least one attack on Latias/Erufuun cause them alone might be trouble. Otherthanthat. 5/5 :p
