So, these kind of threads are becoming very common. The problems seem like your Pokemon Online can receive data from server, but not send. I suspect antivirus-software or firewall is disabling PO's online capabilities. Everyone who has this problem, post here: 1) What version of Windows you have (Or other operating system as well if applicable) 2) What anti-virus software you have installed on your computer and what is it's version number and policy? 3) What personal firewall software you have installed on your computer and what is it's version number and policy? Together we can try to find the reason for these problems. Edit. 2011-03-28: First attempt to solve this has been made in this post. Can anyone who is having this problem try if it works and comment on this thread if this solved it for you. Anyway, the problem seems to be related to Windows Vista. Probably Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Firewall play a role in this puzzle too. Edit. 2011-08-21: Still no universal solution to the problem. Thread unstickied, since it hasn't helped that many people.
1.Windows Vista 2.McAfee SecurityCenter-however, I think the subscription has expired-SecurityScan ver.9.3 Microsoft Security Essentials*-what I use to scan the computer *not sure what policy or version number 3.Not sure if there is a personal firewall hope this gets resolved soon
1) Windows Vista 2) Microsoft Security Essentials 3) Windows Firewall with Advanced Security Sounds very similar to the person above... Suspiciously so...
I've been having those same problems, and I think that i have found a solution. I need to open a port through my firewall, and I need the ports that pokemon online uses. I have Windows Vista btw.
Windows Vista 64 Microsoft Security Essentials Windows Firewall Almost exactly like the guys above me...
I can confirm that no problems on Windows 7 Pro with Security Essentials and Windows firewall. Please try to change theme to classic as bgill31 suggested.
Need help, this seemed the most relevant place to put it: In the last day my Pokemon online has been taking ages to save, and while it's loading the folder to save it in, if I click it freezes. I tried re-downloading but that did not solve the problem. Any ideas or anyone with the same problem?
http://pokemon-online.eu/forums/showthread.php?5844-No-way-to-play-x&p=63007#post63007 You should try to disable parental controls. If might help.
I have the solution!! You have to run the program as an administrator (right click when you're opening PO). As long as you never exit while your using it, you only have to get admin password once.
So, i tried running it as an administrator and ended up with this: I connect to a server, the chat message telling me that i'm connected comes up but there are no players, no battles, nothing, and the "register" button is greyed out. EDIT: Now everything appears but I still cant chat or anything like that, even when running as administrator.
I've only just signed up to the forum so Ican post this: 1) Windows XP 2) Mcafee security center 3)windows firewall The funny thing is, I've only just started having problems. I keep getting this Script test thing
New user here, made a team just fine but can't battle or chat at all. 1) Windows Vista 2) Mcafee security center 3) Windows Firewall (I think) The PO server also temporarily blocked me until I changed my username slightly. Probably because I kept challenging people without any response. Changing the theme and style did nothing.
I doubt I'll get a reply but w/e. 1) Windows Vista 2) Idk...none? 3) Windows firewall I can't battle, chat, or change my tier.
1) Widows vista 2) Avira antivirus desktop V10. 3) Windows firewall (which i have disabled) Disabling firewall DID fix part of the problem, i can now receive challenges, but cannot accept them, or chat.
just reposting this from my own thread i just made. Anyways, Have the same problem! Can get to the server, but can't take battles, chat, or see anyone -.- Here's my specs. - Windows XP - AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2011 - Windows Firewall. Disabling both my fire wall and anti-virus did nothing. I experience the same problem for my windows 7 laptop.. so yeah -.- PLEASE HELP ;___; i want to play on your server again lol -.-
I have Windows 7, Microsoft security essentials, and Windows firewall. I began have the connection problem after an update. I will try making an exception in 'windows firewall with advanced security' and post if it works.
I think I have the answer to our problems. We've all been IP banned but PO doesn't notify the user. I recall that the last comment I made was something about the high prevalence of the AIDS virus on the continent of Africa. I was later banned for an hour but I haven't been able to interact with the server in weeks. I have two computers and they both have this problem with Pokemon Online whereas they can both connect with other servers just fine. In retrospect, you probably should have made this a ban appeal thread because that is obviously the problem.
PO is happy to cut your connection if you have been banned. It sounds more like a failure in login process.
I was never banned. I got muted once, but I never really chatted much, so I highly doubt I got banned; and like I said, I couldn't do it on my laptop either, so it wouldn't be an IP problem..?
Well PO is the only sever i cant connect to but i have connected only once. Otherwise it just sits at Connected to server!
Okay so I can get on at my friends house but not mine! So I think it's an internet or wi-fi problem? I don't know what it could be, so if someone could possibly help me...?
A response to the widespread problem. I have just recently installed this pokemon online simulator, under a friends reccomendation. For him it works perfectly fine, but for me for some strange reason I can get into a server, and i can receive match invites, but if i accept it, it does not register that i accepted it and it just goes away. I cannot change my tier, find a match, or challenge anyone else. Text I enter into the chat does not register in the chat box. I cannot change my tier under: Tiers: etc. I can click the tier change, and it seems to register as the "Tiers" tab closes, but if i look back into the tab, it has not change. I AmNew to this site, but I have downloaded it properly I am quite sure. Team builder etc. works, and saves my teams/Pokes but I truly am not sure what is wrong. The programmer/ers for this program and website are getting nowhere but i see you are trying. It seems like a difficult problem, that could be the simplest thing in the world to fix, but it's a mystery. 1. Windows Vista 2. No anti-virus software at the moment. 3. I am truly not sure what kind of firewall I do have.
Yeah this seems like Vista specific problem :( Probably would go away if you upgraded your computers but there should be some easier way.
https://join.me/ < here's a free screen sharing and tech assisting site. It makes helping clients easier since the person who is assisting can see and control the clients screen. Just want to bring it out, since it can help us solve your problem.
I I have downloaded pokemon online but I cant acess it at all like it works on the adminitstraer but it won't work on the kids (which is me) if I could find out what I'm doing wrong that would be great, thank you to who every repleys to this.
I didn't understand what you're saying, but of what i read Parental Issue when running Pokémon Online? Try using this: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OTF95861 (It's the game and you do not need to install it) Also, this is not the thread to talk about.
I have forwarded port 5080 on my Netgear wnr1000 v2 router, but that didn't solve the problem. Do you know of any other ports that need to be forwarded for Pokemon Online?
I believe the problem has something to do with the pokemon-online servers not recieving information from our computers. I can recieve information from the servers, but when i respond in some way, it doesn't notice the fact that i've sent it some sort of information whether it be text written in the chat box, or an invite sent, or the accepting of an invite.
It could be an option to just download the older version , and have some older servers? So that people like me having this problem can play like that? 'just sayin'
