Is this still being supported? I use this pretty often and I've come across some bugs. - editting the level doesn't adjust stats, you have to press the edit button by the stats to update them - don't know what exactly causes it, but sometimes stat modifier increases for some reason - it seems Normal attacks are adjusted properly against Steel targets Haven't noticed anything else but overall, the dc is great and I hope you continue supporting it.
I will continue to support this for about a month I guess, moved on to something new recently :D Right, I'll fix it, thanks Edit: Fixed It increases when you select a stat-boosting move I made Normal attacks neutral vs everything, my bad =/ Gonna check the type effectiveness part again, I did it so poorly, so it may take a few hours before I update the calc Edit: Updated (phew, I probably got only normal type wrong, that is normal vs rock, normal vs steel & normal vs ghost). Download link on first post. Thanks again guys
Finally a fifth gen damage calculator. They should have that as an option on PO for easy access. Like where the tabs for tiers and options are at.
...there's been a damage calculator stickied at the top of this subforum for god knows how long, certainly months before luungoc released this. I'm not saying this is bad at all, and in fact, I believe it's very useful, but this is in no way the first fifth gen damage calculator.
Well, you'll be happy to know that you have a fairly high Google pagerank; when I was googling "Gen V Damage Calculator", yours was one of the first results. I've been using it for maybe 2-3 weeks, and so far it seems to have come in handy. There were a couple strange bugs I encountered on my desktop (whenever I bring up the boxes to compensate for attack/defense boosts, the box is full of a weird buggy black), but I think that was largely due to my computer hating everything and nothing you can fix (it used to do the same things when I was playing the old Shoddy Battle). The program works fine on my laptop, so it's probably something involving the framework on my computer not working very well. If it helps any, here's a screenshot: And here's my specs (not sure how many of these you need; last time I filed a bug report it was for a full-screen computer game):
Wah, that looks pretty nasty, but yea, it's probably because of your computer. Might wanna check your VGA card (or update its driver-no, probably not because of the driver, idk, I've never seen anything like that)
BUMP Ok, I'm finally done with the theme (the default theme looked really ugly), and I'm tired of having to fix 2 apps every single time I find a bug, so here's what I've been working on: an online version of the damage calc. Check back on the first post for links
Found another bug. When you go to Edit Move, having an empty field at base power will crash the calculator. Also, it seems Acrobatics deals the default damage even when no item is equipped. EDIT: Nevermind, seems you're no longer supporting the offline version.
Sadly, it doesn't work on my mac. Gives http://lamperi.name/ss/20110410140231.png Running latest Safari on Snow Leopard, issue is that it never downloaded any data. I waited for 10 minutes. // Thanks, yeah.. I'm running Finnish localization and Finnish uses "," instead of "." as decimal separator :3
Hmm...I never met that error on my mac, probably it happened while parsing the XML data files. And...apparently you're the first one I've seen who encountered it. Perhaps it's because of your regional settings? (like, "," instead of "." as decimal symbol?). That or no, I guess it'll be hard to fix as I can't get that error myself Edit: In case it was because of regional settings, fixed (my bad...). Please try again :D Edit 2: okay, apparently it works
It doesn't work for me... (the web page) It's probably just China's stupid internet. It would be extremely helpful if it was moved to another webpage, but if you're too busy, don't bother, I'll get by by using Smogon's.
I was also thinking it would be useful if this could be intergrated into team builder somehow. I'm not really sure how hard that is to program, but I'll just throw that out their anyway.
Well, if you can't access it, I may have to move it to a different host. And free, good hosts are really hard to find :( At this stage I still find bugs every now and then, and I've been experimenting with some stuffs, adding new things too. Perhaps until it's more completed... This is a different story however. Pretty much, impossible...I guess someone may make a different damage calc in PO in the future though Just a notice, the last few days I've been making some major changes (not really noticeable though). There are now sprites when you select the Pokemon (sprites are from PO, so there are some sprites missing like Arceus formes, for example), the movesets are loaded instantly (if they don't then they won't load at all), and Import/Export (right click on the 'Attacker'/'Defender' bar). The download size is reduced so it should load a little faster (loading the sprites make it slow down a little bit though). But well, new stuffs always come with chances for new bugs, so, experiment ~
There is Slipperjeans' calc if you can't use this one; it's much faster to use than inputting raw stats into smogon's calculator. openoffice.org can open it if you don't have excel 2007. I can't get this to work on Moonlight; it gives the error: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" when I try to load the web page. :( Probably not something you can fix, but this is just to let you know. Has anyone else had success with running this in Moonlight on Linux?
Hmm, idk, maybe it's my fault lol (this error is common...), but since Microsoft's Silverlight runtime do so well, I'll assume for the moment that Moonlight is bugged. Edit: tested, indeed it is... Just noticed, on Safari there's no mouseleave event or something @@ (i.e the buttons' appearance doesn't work as it should). Now this one can't be fixed...The damage calc still work though.
^ Well, it's not in the list for Edit move button, uncheck 'Filter' next to 'Move' to select it Edit: nah, not fixing it, since some moves require both info about attacker & defender...I'll just leave it as it is. I'll post a list of supported moves later. Edit 2: done
I found this to be very useful, very detailed, and an excellent damage calculator, the best I could find off of a simple Google search. I haven't tried Smogon's or the PO main page one. Silverlight was incredibly tiny and took just a brief moment to install. One of my issues I found was trying to use a Flight Gem with Acrobatics. It appeared that the Flight Gem was not boosting Acrobatics power, and that Acrobatics was being calculated as if an item was held. How the mechanic is (supposed) to work, is that the Flight Gem is consumed, and Acrobatics is calculated as if an item wasn't held, with the +50% damage increase to the move.
Oh damn, this looks really nice. I needed something like this, but I was always too lazy to go get it. Bookmarked. I'll be using this a lot. Thanks! It looks good!
Do you have Silverlight installed? luungoc provided a download for mac and linux in the OP, if you're not using Windows.
yes it does, just checked if it still doesn't work for you though, give me more details of what you've tried well firstly it doesn't work on Linux since Moonlight is incomplete. Secondly, on Mac, it only works on Firefox & Safari, not Chrome Details: http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx , under "System Requirements"
hmm, connection timeout. But it shows the browser's error page right? If so then, probably because the host's down at that time, or, for whatever reason you can't connect to it =/
Seems to be down at the moment. nvm it's fine now Anyways, is it possible to make 31 IVs the default or something? It keeps getting reset to 0 for me, unless I use a built in set.
Always server time out for me... The connection has timed out The server at masara.byethost15.com is taking too long to respond. The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
Hmm, for whatever reason (perhaps your ISP/firewall/something may have blocked byethost). Oh well, that can't be fixed...
Seems to be down for me today. It was working perfectly fine yesterday though, and I haven't changed anything since yesterday. Is it just down?
