Oh yeah @Professor Oak I just accepted a Twitch friend request from you from 3 months ago lmao, never look at my notifications. Gonna edit in my top 10 eventually, for now take a random question for 8/20/2017: When do you guys think the day will come where there's no actual difference between streaming services and cable packages? I don't believe the day has come yet.
Depends on how much demand there is for the latter. That demand is slowly dwindling, so I'd give it a generation or two. So I'll guess about 35 years from now.
Given the way everything (Disney, Fox) are attempting to make their own streaming service, I'm guessing some genius company is going to start packaging streaming services and turn it back into cable
Double post because I'm above the rules or something 8/25 - Now that 90s Doom / Quake - esque shooters and 3D platformers have come back into vogue, which nostalgic video game trend do you think (or hope) will make a revival next?
Star fox-esque rail shooters. Without the stupid motion controls that are mandatory to aim. Question for 8/26: what do you guys think of microtransactions in games?
They can be okay in some forms of games, but I really don't think they have any place in AAA titles or anything that costs more than $30.
Question for 9/5/2017: how dead is PO, and if you could compare its dead status to whatever else is dead, what would you compare it to? I've been busy with life so haven't been able to keep up with this.
As dead as this paras +6 252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Groudon-Primal Helping Hand Inferno Overdrive (220 BP) vs. -6 0 HP / 0- Def Dry Skin Paras: 10674772-12558556 (97043381.8 - 114168690.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
My top five (cuz I only like 5) games today are: 1. Pokèmon Sun2. Pokèmon Black3. Pokèmon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team 4. Pokèmon Red5. Pokèmon SoulSilverso yeah, it's mainly Pokèmon...
Question for 9/13/2017: What's the cost of living like where you live? I'm not sure if I already asked this and am too lazy to check lol.
I find that a good estimate of general living costs is to compare the local shop price for a pint of milk (65p) or the price of a pint of beer at your local pub (£3.60). So if anyone wants to use those as a benchmark, enjoy. You might need to convert it into your currency though. My wage is relatively low (it is just above the national minimum wage, on average), so it certainly feels like we have to squeeze every penny at times. The poor job market and low wage society in Britain as a whole currently makes everything seem a hell of a lot more expensive than it probably should be. The main problem here is that it is a tourist area, so prices are always high to make profits off of the unwitting tourists. Add on that the British Government have criminally underfunded this part of the UK for decades, and there's a lot of people struggling to make ends meet down here. It's not a slum by any means at all: I still live in a flat within a building, and can (just about) afford to keep the roof over my head and food on the table. I don't feel comfortable in my situation currently, but I am more than aware that I could be doing much, much worse. tl;dr costs are high for me cos I live in a tourist area where prices are high and wages are low
92.50 on the CoL Index with the US as a whole being set at 100 So, decently low, though the CoL is going up with people moving here from DC / Baltimore, and therefore the size (or rent-ability) of houses isn't helpful for people trying to break into the market. Lack of wage competition has kept wages the same for almost a decade, which also doesn't help.
didn't even know there was a CoL index a quick google showed me the number for the nearest city to me 178, 2nd most expensive city in the UK (after London) fuck me
Bojack Horseman (fight me pnerd) 9/17 or whatever What series (TV, movie, video game) do you think had the greatest fall from grace? Ie, it was great at one point, but started being shit.
Well I really only have video game knowledge for this kind of question, but Halo may be a very strong contender. It still has its very dedicated fans, however long gone are the Halo 3 days of literally everyone either owning the game or playing split screen over a friend's house at least a few times a week. Hardcore fans may say Fire Emblem has started to show some wear, but I don't think the series has hit a low point in terms of quality just yet. Sales are a different point of discussion though. Actually, in terms of movies and spin off television series related to it, probably Aladdin off the top of my head. Wonderful first movie followed by a long list of mediocrity trying to ride the wave the first entry made. Also it's okay devo, I still respect your opinion, wrong as it may be.
RuneScape tbh, was pretty cool but turned shit in like 2011 iirc, thats also why they introduced old server runescape or something, where you literally play the game in its 2007 version
It's okay @Sophia88, my favorite anime at the moment is My Hero Academia. But overall I'd probably go with Full Metal Alchemist until I think about it a bit more. Question for 9/30/2017: what are the most dangerous weather conditions you've lived through? Alternatively, how bad does the weather get if it's never life threatening like gigantic blizzards or hurricanes?
Too many to name tbh @Sophia88 but Non Non Biyori comes first to mind. Qotd for 9/30/17 The rain/flood/winds for Hurricane Harvey being the most recent one.
Favorite anime atm would be Code Geass. Worst weather would be hurricanes (in Florida). I've never had to go through the worst parts (i.e. having your home blown down / flooded), but I have had to experience evacuating, being without power for several days, and / or trees falling on things.
