It's strange how I was just voicing my opinion on a subject I am knowledgeable on and I get shitted on by normies. In hindsight, my weeb chronicles in the wastelands will serve as a beacon of hope for future (cough) weebs on PO. e:n-nvm po ded.
I believe the key difference here is that previous "weebs" do not force it down the throats of everyone at every turn, choosing to discuss such matters in private and away from the eyes of those who will ridicule said "weebs". Private chats on PO itself, or PM messages, or even just discussions outside of the forums, or on the forums in a dedicate post are all options for such a discussion, and comments such as those that ridicule "weebs" would either not exist in those formats, or would be subject to harsh punishment. Compare that to having images and discussion of Jojo posted in almost every topic, and you may begin to see the reasoning why such ridicule happens. tl;dr go make an anime discussion in general chat to discuss it, and don't post it everywhere, everyone wins now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to get back to shitposting and calling everyone a cunt pnerd is a cunt but a lovely, tight one you want to keep going back to
I fully acknowledge that the UK's system of measurements is fucked up. Weights for people are most often listed in imperial units (oz, lb, st), but food produce is primarily listed in metric units (g, kg). However, weight for people can also be done in metric and weightlifting is usually determined by metric numbers too, yet butchers and greengrocers will still calculate the price of various meats and veg in imperial units despite them being legally required to list them in metric units. With regards to length, distance and area, the height of a person in the UK is primarily done in imperial units, whereas all roadmaps are required by law to be in metric units. The whole world recognises the metric system for athletics, with the 100m dash, the 110m hurdles, the 50m freestyle swim and so on, yet UK football (soccer) commentators refer to the penalty area as the "18-yard box", an imperial measurement. Planning permission and applications for building and construction work must be done in metric measurements, but estate agents will usually state floor space in sq ft. Garden dimensions are usually listed in ft and in, but all garden supplies are sold in metric quantaties. We often hear of land being sold by the acre (imperial, 43560 sq ft), but can alternatively be given in hectares (metric, 100m squared, ~2.47 acres). Other measurements are contradictory too. Milk is still sold in pints (imperial), although some places also sell milk in litres (metric), and both measurements are always listed on milk bottles. Beer is exclusively sold in pints (imperial), whereas spirits are sold in metric units, with a shot being 25ml. We buy petrol in litres (metric), yet we measure the economy of our vehicles in miles per gallon (imperial). Our road signs and speed limits speak of miles per hour (imperial), and distances on road signs also speak of miles (imperial), but height and weight restrictions on road signs must be given in imperial and metric measurements by law for new road signs, where older road signs still only present imperial measurements. We exclusively use Celsius for temperature (metric), and most measurements of rainfall and visibility are given in metric units... but I still hear "we got about an inch of snow overnight" on the news when it happens (imperial). Those are just the examples I could think of just off of the top of my head. For these reasons, I don't personally shout at Americans for using the imperial system overall. I just shout at them for using Fahrenheit instead of Celsius for temperature, because that one makes absolutely 0 sense to me. tl;dr uk fucking dumb for measurements
ben franklin sucks cuz he made us measure current with positive particles but the negative ones are the ones that move
