Smogon): http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-402554262 So there is an interesting strategy in balanced hackmons concerning magnet pull: Use perish song, then use doom desire, and baton pass to a color change mon(opponent usually change due to perish song), then use skill swap, and make ur opponent a color change mon, and land the doom desire on it to make it steel, and then u die from perish song. Then send out magnet pull to trap it. see http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Color_Change_(Ability) or the replay on smogon to confirm. In my screenshot battling myself, magnet pull doesn't trap since no type change is activated. TL;DR So basically, Future Sight and Doom Desire should activate Color Change when they hit (they do not activate Color Change when used). This is effective starting from Gen V. TuT There are stuff as complicated as these, and conquering it should be a great moment of eureka for programmers :x Anyway such stuff doesn't affect major tiers, so not in a hurry, but do fix it in the future if possible :3
