Overview: Latias has risen a lot in the tier of Ubers due to the appearance of Soul Dew (Item that boosts SpAtt and SpDef by 50%). Its usage is mainly as a defogger, since it has solid defences and can switch into a lot of Pokemon. Apart from freeing the spot of a support Arceus forme, Latias provides solid checking of both Primals, Groudon and Kyogre. It has a solid base speed of 110 which helps it complete both its offensive and defensive role with success, since it outspeeds the majority of the Pokemon in the tier. With the appropriate defensive evs investment, Latias can be one of the most solid defoggers in the tier. Latias has competition with its twin Latios, but each one has its pros and cons. Latias is better on bulkier builds due to its better defensive stats, while Latios can cover the place of defogger in more offensive builds, since its Special Attack is clearly higher than the one of Latias. So in the end it comes down to the team style for one to decide which of the "Lati Twins" to use. Set: Latias @ Soul Dew Ability: Levitate EVs: 212 HP / 120 SpA / 176 Spe Timid Nature - Psyshock / Grass Knot - Draco Meteor - Roost - Defog This set aims at the usage of Latias as defogger which can at the same time check some threats. Roost helps Latias stay longer in the field, and be able to provide defog which is really helpful for more balanced or stall builds. Draco Meteor is its strongest Dragon type STAB and allows it to hit hard Primal Groudon or the dragons of the tier and it is mandatory for Latias to carry it. Psyshock, is an option for the Psychic STAB and helps Latias against bulkier Pokemon such as Ho-Oh or Kyogre. Grass Knot can be used so that bigger amount of damage can be dealt to Pokemon like Kyogre, Arceus-Ground, Arceus-Water or Mega-Diancie. Other Options: Latias can use Calm Mind so it can set up and then hit with its STAB moves. Due to its lower offensive stats though, this set is outclassed by its twin, Latios. Hidden Power fire can be used to hit with super effective damage many Steel type Pokemon that wall Latias, such as Klefki, Mega-Scizor or Ferrothorn. Healing Wish can also be used to give momentum to Offensive or Balance builds, but it is hard to fit it with success into a set. Team Options: Ho-Oh is a really fine teammate for Latias; It appreciates the defog support that it provides, while at the same time it checks Primal Groudon and Kyogre. On the other side, Ho-Oh can deal with the steels that wall Latias. Primal Groudon is another great teammate, since it can switch in the steel or fairy types that cause problems to Latias, while it absorbs Will-O-Wisp and Thunder Wave. Furthermore, Primal Groudon is a solid Stealth Rock setter, which can set up rocks anytime on the game and can be used along with Defog. Other Flying type Pokemon such as Mega-Salamence or Rayquaza or Yveltal can appreciate the defog provided. Latias also likes a cleric user as a teammate. Toxic or Thunder Wave can be a great problem for this set, so a healer could be really useful. Checks & Counters: Steel Types: One of the most solid Latias check is Klefki; It resists both STABs while it can cause problems to it with status moves or Play Rough. Skarmory, Aegislash or Bronzong, can resist its STABs and toxic stall it. Bronzong and Aegislash can also deal significant damage with Gyro Ball. Fairy Types: Fairy types like Arceus-Fairy or a bulky Xerneas can tank Psyshock and then KO with their STAB super effective moves. Mega-Diancie can also be a threat to Latias, but it should be mentioned that Diancie can not safely switch in because of its low defensive stats. Dark Types: Arceus-Dark is the most solid Dark type check, since it can beat any set of Latias and it can switch in safely. Yveltal can also be a problem, regarding its access to Sucker Punch or Dark Pulse. Last but not least, Darkrai can also be a threat,as a Dark Void or Dark Pulse user but it can not switch in safely because of its low stats in defense. Pursuit Users: Pursuit users such as Tyranitar or Aegislash can deal huge damage to Latias, while they can tank its attacks. Lugia: Lugia can absorb every attack of Latias, and Toxic stall it. Even if Latias has Calm Mind set, Lugia can Toxic it and use Whirlwind.
I would compare it to latios to show what advantages and disadvantages have both of them (i will do the same on my latios analysis). It's important for new players to know that if their team needs offensive presence, they should pick latios instead of latias, etc. You said latios at the end of the overview, change it to latias Rest seems fine but maybe i'm missing something
I would add it on the overview tbh. Smth like "Latias faces competition from other defoggers such as Latios (here you may add Gira-O as well), which have more offensive presence etc etc. On the other hand, Latias bulk makes her able to take hits better etc etc. qc approved 1/4
