Hi all in my new RMT, this time i'll be presenting a Monogen team, because it tends it worked a lot for me and because it's a tier I do enjoy a lot and that I play since BW2. I decided to go with Gen 5 because of all the potential it has, my main idea was to use Volcarona since Gen 6 is not a dominant gen and therefore Talonflame would be less of an issue.

Process during the teambuilding: I wanted to build an offensive team based on Defiant Bisharp and Volcarona Insect Plate so it has the instant power to cripple teams enough to the point where pokemon such as Excadrill or Keldeo can clean, which is why i went for an SD Bisharp and Insect Plate Hidden Power Ground Volcarona. Since I needed some impact on the game I decided to use Landorus-T for rocks and in general crippling mons such as Dragonite, Mega Lopunny etc. Lastly since my team is very weak to Suicune I decided to add Amoonguss so I deal better with these mons.

    The team: [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Landorus-T (M) @ Rocky Helmet

    Trait: Intimidate

    EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spd

    Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)

    - U-turn

    - Stealth Rock

    - Earthquake

    - Stone Edge

It's a very standard set of Landorus-T, I invest 16 evs in speed to outspeed Rotom-W that try to outspeed 0 evs or 4 evs speed Landorus-T, it helps me taking the momentum first. I gave it Rocky Helmet to punish the likes of Charizard X, Mega Metagross, Landorus-T and many physical attackers. Stone edge allows me hitting Dnite/Talonflame/Volcarona/Tornadus-T and is in usual very useful.

    Bisharp (M) @ Dread Plate

    Trait: Defiant

    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd

    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

    - Sucker Punch

    - Knock Off

    - Swords Dance

    - Iron Head

Bisharp is one of the pokemon that became so good in this generation due to Defog and the buff of Knock Off, and it's by far one of the pokemon that applies the most pression on my opponent team due to being able to SD and having access to priority. I use Jolly to speed creep mons like defensive mew that don't invest a lot and also it helps me against opponent Bisharp. I usually always prefer to have the speed control over the power because at my sense it's by far more important.

    Volcarona (F) @ Insect Plate

    Trait: Flame Body

    EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

    IVs: 30 SAtk / 30 SDef

    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

    - Quiver Dance

    - Fiery Dance

    - Bug Buzz

    - Hidden Power [Ground]

Volcarona used to be one of the best pokemon during BW, it could fit on Sun, Sand or even Rain teams. When gen 6 got introduced it lost all it's value due to talonflame being all around. Nevertheless, it's still an amazing pokemon capable of sweeping unprepared teams, and also to create holes in your opponent team. With Insect Plate after rocks, Rotom-W is ohkoed with bug buzz, Fiery Dance is another safe way of boosting attack ( you could play Fire Blast but I don't like missing) and HP Ground is specifically for Heatran who tends to come in Volc very often, offensive Tran gets ohkoed at +1 while spe def takes around 80% which means Volcarona will prepare the field for a late game sweeper, Bisharp for example. Again, I opt for Timid max speed cause base 100 are running a lot and it's important to outspeed/tie with them.

    Keldeo @ Choice Specs

    Trait: Justified

    EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

    - Icy Wind

    - Hydro Pump

    - Secret Sword

    - Scald

Keldeo Specs is such a threat in Monogen: as i said many times, talon being less of an issue due to gen 6 nature to not have the best partners, Keldeo has the opportunity to spam without being punished Scald and Secret Sword. One of the rare threats that can come in is Latios, but in general you can check it with Bisharp, but it's still a good answer to Keldeo unless you Icy wind predicting it. Keldeo is also in general a good Bisharp and Heatran check so it's important to keep it healthy in case they stay alive early.

    Amoonguss (F) @ Black Sludge

    Trait: Regenerator

    EVs: 252 HP / 240 SDef / 16 Spd

    Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)

    - Spore

    - Sludge Bomb

    - Giga Drain

    - Clear Smog

I had 0 Keldeo/Suicune/Breloom counter so I had to add Amoonguss because it has a big utility on my team. I went with calm because it can tank hits from more special mons and forms an ok core with Landorus-T and Keldeo, being only weak to stuff like Mega Metagross. Moves are pretty standard and I'm using Clear Smog because it allows me dealing with Calm Mind Suicune better, who otherwise will cause me serious problems. I run some speed to make sure to outspeed Slowbro as well, and Spore/Clear Smog to beat it 1v1. You can run Foul Play over Clear Smog for Gengar if you're scared

    Excadrill (F) @ Choice Scarf

    Trait: Mold Breaker

    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd

    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

    - Rapid Spin

    - Rock Slide

    - Earthquake

    - Iron Head

I needed a spinner, a cleaner able to check Clefable, Latios and DD Dnite, Excadrill fits perfectly in this role and is very reliable as a spinner overall ( as well of being the only gen 5 one ). Moves are totally standard and there's not much to say, dual stab and Rock slide for flying mons in case you need to hit them.

Conclusion: pretty standard looking gen 5 bulky offense team that made me win a lot of tours and topped the ladder. I personally like it and feel free to suggest any changes! Thanks for reading!
