So we can use hackmons but still can't choose to use 0 PP ups?

    What's up with this? Some of us sometimes like activating Struggle. No reason to have that taken away from us.

    Not easily as far as I know. It might not even be a move which could be hacked in to begin with. Someone would need to research that.

    Adding customizable PP Ups at this point would break about 6 other features.... to allow someone to "Struggle." It's not my fault you can't handle large PPs and prefer to only deal with smaller ones.

    Just to clarify one thing, hackmons isn't completely unlimited. It's essentially limited to the data which one could hack in. It may be the case that Struggle cannot be added as a move without modifying the game's software. It may or may not have a move ID, which is what would need to be tested assuming someone cared to do so.

    Struggle does have an internal move ID (it's the last move from the list of Gen I moves) and it's stayed constant throughout all the gens. Given it's also defined in terms of PP (I think 1 PP after Gen I, just coded to not count) and contest category (Cool / Tough depending on gen), it's safe to assume it -is- easily the same as other moves. The coding thing is what I'm confused on but PS currently has it so Struggle gets PP deducted if it's being used directly as opposed to the "Pokemon has no moves so use Struggle" function it normally has.

    I'm pretty sure Trump Card doesn't use max PP anyway.

    We should have the freedom to use the exact number of Trump Card PP that we choose

    But in all seriousness I think this is more work than it's worth to add this, though it's weird a feature in Netbattle never made it onto here

    Fun fact, if you want spammable Struggle, equip Assault Vest with only status moves. Nobody will mess with you.

    Yeah, I don't really see the need for someone to go out of their way to implement something like this, I doubt anyone except someone very rare would ever bother with actually trying out this case in hackmons.

    Trump Card is already automatically reduced to 0 PP Ups, so that's not an issue.

    If Struggle is a move which can be hacked in, it should be relatively easy to just add it to the move database and it should be available for hackmons.

    You could make it as simple as adding some kind of tag before the move name, like "2 Pound", where that would be Pound with 2 PP Ups. And since 3 PP ups is default, you would just have:

    0 Pound - 0 PP Ups
    1 Pound - 1 PP Up
    2 Pound - 2 PP Ups
    Pound - 3 PP Ups

    I support the idea tbh, for exactly 1 reason: Trump Card.

    Currently, we automatically set Trump Card to have 5 PP, so its power is maximised faster. However, it may be worth adding extra PP to the move to make people think you've ran out, and then smashing them with the final PP or 3.

    Nobody uses trump card and multiplying the size of the move list would lag the shit out of the teambuilder (it already does as is by listing all the moves in hackmons).

    Interesting point about that. I didn't consider the whole Trump Card thing. There are also cases where you may want to struggle earlier (either for fun BP teams or stall wars with two Pokemon with no recovery - in generations where Struggle isn't 1/4 HP recoil in particular).

    Also I don't know if people are doing the whole RPG thing anymore, but if they were it could work for that as well.

    And what's up Oak, it's been a while.
    It would be accepted as a legitimate move, but not listed in the drop down list.

    Or at least branched drop-downs from each move, which wouldn't cause any extraneous displays of move variations.

    Say we add them, how do you ensure accuracy on Move Tracking tooltips? Or do you just remove this functionality overall for something I don't even know how to describe.

    What about Transform/Mimic/et al.? You'd have private info that needs to be made public without going through the normal expose data functions otherwise these moves will not be accurate.

    Computer Importables would need to be updated as well, which isn't a big deal in itself but that's just extra work.
    What about Android and Importables?

    It's going to take more effort to add this in than the use it will get in any sense faintly resembling competitive battling.

    I guess considering the Android stuff, the better memory storage method may be one boolean flag for the whole team which is True for abnormal PP Ups and False for all PP Ups maxed out. And have a separate spot in Team Builder for manually adjusting PP Ups if it otherwise would be too cluttered.

    Struggle's id is #165 in-game and in po's file with a pp of 1 power 50 (android actaully lets you put struggle on hackmons)
    And the move tracking tool tip is just to help the player it doesn't have to be omnipotent since your opponent's pp data is private to you. It would be realistic for a pokemon simulator for it to assume max pp even if it's not (the tooltip also isn't even accurate already with moves like sleep talk)

    As far as the tooltip you could always set it to do how it does with stats. For instance Hyper Beam would read as
    Hyper Beam ?-?/5-8
    With the ? Being the current remaining pp.
