Time for the results! But before that, a few words from our sponso- oh wait, we don't have any :( Let's start with a small change in the reward. It was previously said that only one themes would receive the grand prize. Well, that changed. We decided that no theme will receive it 3 themes will be awarded the grand prize, but the best placed ones will have priority to choose their prize. More details will be explained during this post. Another important note: There was 66 themes submitted. That's quite a large number, so we will not explain why each individual theme was not accepted. You are free to discuss that with other players, but please do not bother us with "what was wrong with my theme" or "my theme was better than that one that won". Now for more words from our sponso- oh RIP sponsors. Let's go for the accepted themes, starting from the minor ones. This first set of themes have been deemed good enough to be added to the channel, but are not the winners of the Grand Prize. They are listed in no particular order. Accept themes but no Grand Prize winners: Spoiler: Accepted Themes Theme: Abundant Shrine Submitted by: Ancalagon Summary: It's a very simple theme, based on an in-game location. We actually got quite a few of those location-based themes, but the reason this one was chosen is because it offered a good diversity in spawn and it's not based on some obvious cliched location like Victory Road or Safari Zone. Theme: Fairytale Submitted by: Joeypals Summary: A theme based (mostly) on Fairy Tales from our world. Expect spawns that make references to The Frog Prince, Goldilocks, etc. There's also references to a fairy tale from the Pokémon World. Theme: Night Submitted by: Lpola456 Summary: There have been quite a few number of submissions based on Night or Sun/Moon, but this one was most balanced and logical one among them. It's a theme basically focused on Pokémon related to night, like those that only appear or evolve during the night in the games, or some related to dreams and stuff like that. The players who submitted the themes above will receive 3 Mega Stones, 5 Cherry Delights, 6 Eggs and 8 Prize Packs each. Now we follow with the Grand Prize winners. But before, more words from our sponso- Ok, enough with this joke. Starting with 3rd place: Spoiler: Third Place Theme: Asia Submitted by: beforedawn Summary: Pokémon on this theme are based (mostly) on the Japanese culture, with a few being from other asian locations. Many of theme are based on japanese myths and folklore, as well as some references to pop culture and even common objects. The winner of the 3rd place will receive a Cosplay Pikachu that is not picked by the 2nd and 1st place winners, as well as the same prize given to all accepted themes (3 Mega Stones, 5 Cherry Delights, 6 Eggs and 8 Prize Packs). 2nd place: Spoiler: Second Place Theme: Parallels Submitted by: Joeypals Summary: Pokémon in this theme have some kind of counterpart in the form of other Pokémon, like rivalries, similar designs or even being the version exclusive in some of the main series Pokémon games. This is another type of theme that got more than a few submissions. This one was picked among the other similar ones because it had a clearer and less arbitrary selection method. The winner of the 2nd place can choose between Pikachu Pop Star, Pikachu Belle or Pikachu Ph. D, but it can't pick the same one chosen by the 1st place winner. They also receive 3 Mega Stones, 5 Cherry Delights, 6 Eggs and 8 Prize Packs more. And finally, the Grand Winner: Spoiler: First Place Theme: Quadrupeds Submitted by: PokeWorldBW Summary: Another very simple theme (simple is the best, right?). It picks Pokémon who have the Quadruped body style according to the Pokédex. Why was this one picked as a winner? For starters, it has a clear and well-defined method to pick the Pokémon included. It also offers a good diversity, and has a concept so simple that one does not need to explain why a Pokémon is included or not. The Grand Winner can choose between Pikachu Pop Star, Pikachu Belle or Pikachu Ph. D without any restriction. They also receive 3 Mega Stones, 5 Cherry Delights, 6 Eggs and 8 Prize Packs. And this is it! Thanks for everyone who participated, there has been some funny submissions that didn't quite make the cut, as well as some terrible ones that almost make me want to create a Hall of Shame. Sure, you may disagree with the winners and think your "Pokémon with odd number of eyes" theme is better, but these themes are the ones that fill the criteria that we wanted. In any case, you are free to discuss the results, but please be respectful when doing so. 1st and 2nd place please contact me to choose your rewards. Rewards will be given all at once after the Grand Prize winners choose their prizes. Lastly, a reminder that these themes have been added to the channel already, but they are not necessarily identical to the ones submitted. We had to tweak a number of things to all of them, so to those who got a winning theme, don't be surprised if the theme has different stuff from what was submitted.
wat What even fits this theme? I'd like to claim Pikachu Belle EDIT: 6/66 is about 9%, still a higher acceptance rate than Stanford it seems
Congrats @PokeWorldBW and everyone else who participated, hopefully we can do something like this again in the (not-so-near) future~
