So here I come again, asking to test some new ideas that I came up with today. And tbh, I shouldn't spend time on pokemon any more due to school work lol. So this would be my last post for some time lol. First, as all hackmon players know, eviolite works on chansey even after it impostered into another mon and makes it a centralizing force for balanced hackmon and punish whatever teams without good imposter-proof core. However, lucky punch, which works on chansey normally for a +2 crit rate, does not seems to work, with 0 crit for 8 attacks in a row. In theory, the +2 crit would make it 1/2 crit possibility, and this result can almost guarantee the item no longer works on chansey imposter on po. Then I look around, and find light ball, soul dew, stick, thick club etc. and have my friends test it out one by one: No.1 Light ball [result: works on po] Start of turn 1 delete123 called Latias back! delete123 sent out Meloetta! fsk's fan called Latias back! fsk's fan sent out Pikachu! The foe's Pikachu transformed into Meloetta! Start of turn 2 Meloetta used Psyshock! It's not very effective... The foe's Pikachu lost 26% of its health! The foe's Pikachu used Psyshock! It's not very effective... Meloetta lost 150 HP! (43% of its health) the other players' log: ------ Start of turn 1 delete123 called Latias back! delete123 sent out Meloetta! fsk's fan called Latias back! fsk's fan sent out Pikachu! Pikachu transformed into Meloetta! Start of turn 2 The foe's Meloetta used Psyshock! It's not very effective... Pikachu lost 72 HP! (26% of its health) Pikachu used Psyshock! It's not very effective... The foe's Meloetta lost 43% of its health! the damage clearly doubles, which proves that light ball works this way. ---------- No. 2 Soul dew [result: works on po] fsk's fan sent out Latias! delete123 sent out Meloetta! Latias transformed into Meloetta! Start of turn 1 The foe's Meloetta used Psyshock! It's not very effective... Latias lost 78 HP! (21% of its health) Latias used Psyshock! It's not very effective... The foe's Meloetta lost 30% of its health! ------ the other side: Start of turn 1 Meloetta used Psyshock! It's not very effective... The foe's Latias lost 21% of its health! The foe's Latias used Psyshock! It's not very effective... Meloetta lost 105 HP! (30% of its health) Due to psyshock, the damage is 1.5 times...which clearly proves that soul dew works this way... --------- after No.1 and 2, I assume the thick club would work too and I omit the test here. So the items on the basic at/df/spa/spd does work. ------------------- However, just like lucky punch, the stick on Farfetch'd doesn't really work. My guessing would be the crit ration improvement item no longer works on the server, but whether it works on 3DS needs a test. No.3 [result: does not work on po] fsk's fan sent out Farfetch'd! The foe's Farfetch'd transformed into Gyarados! The foe's Farfetch'd has Mold Breaker! Start of turn 3 Gyarados used Beat Up! It's not very effective... The foe's Farfetch'd lost 5% of its health! The foe's Farfetch'd lost 5% of its health! The foe's Farfetch'd lost 4% of its health! The foe's Farfetch'd lost 5% of its health! The foe's Farfetch'd lost 5% of its health! The foe's Farfetch'd lost 5% of its health! Hit 6 time(s)! The foe's Farfetch'd used Beat Up! It's not very effective... Gyarados lost 16 HP! (4% of its health) A critical hit! Gyarados lost 24 HP! (6% of its health) Gyarados lost 16 HP! (4% of its health) Gyarados lost 18 HP! (4% of its health) Gyarados lost 16 HP! (4% of its health) Hit 5 time(s)! Start of turn 4 Gyarados used Beat Up! It's not very effective... The foe's Farfetch'd lost 5% of its health! The foe's Farfetch'd lost 5% of its health! The foe's Farfetch'd lost 5% of its health! A critical hit! The foe's Farfetch'd lost 7% of its health! The foe's Farfetch'd lost 4% of its health! The foe's Farfetch'd lost 5% of its health! Hit 6 time(s)! The foe's Farfetch'd used Beat Up! It's not very effective... A critical hit! Gyarados lost 25 HP! (6% of its health) Gyarados lost 16 HP! (4% of its health) Gyarados lost 17 HP! (4% of its health) Gyarados lost 17 HP! (4% of its health) Gyarados lost 18 HP! (4% of its health) Hit 5 time(s)! Start of turn 5 Gyarados used Beat Up! It's not very effective... The foe's Farfetch'd lost 5% of its health! The foe's Farfetch'd lost 5% of its health! The foe's Farfetch'd lost 5% of its health! A critical hit! The foe's Farfetch'd lost 7% of its health! The foe's Farfetch'd lost 5% of its health! The foe's Farfetch'd lost 4% of its health! The foe's Farfetch'd fainted! Hit 6 time(s)! Perhaps more testing is needed, but clearly if it worked, the stick would make it 1/2 crit possibility and this seems not to be the case. And lucky punch results in the same situation, with 0 crit out of 8 attack...so...again, needs testing that whether these items work after imposter into another pokemon. Thx a lot Suggestion on testing on 3DS: Again, I am wondering whether skill swap imposter onto the above mentioned PMs would make it. (in multi-pokemon battles, let an imposter ditto fail to imposter, such as sub/illusion on the other field so the ability imposter is kept and be swap from ditto to smeargle and then to the above PMs) Don't know if imposter works right after get swapped onto a poke though On a second thought, I think I cannot come up with any solid way to test this if the way I suggest doesn't work...Any suggestion of this kind would help the staff to test it...thx
Thick Club doubles Cubone's attack, not Farfetch'd crit ratio, so that's something to think about. As for the crit ratio i'll do more test on server, just testing once for 8 moves is not very precise. But maybe Lucky Punch is broken I don't know
Yeah, so the test result for PO server seems to be the following (I did more test more but didn't save the log, u r welcome to do more check on crit ratio): all signature items that enhance at/df/spa/spd for specific PM works after the holder imposters into another PM; all signature items that enhance crit ratio no longer works after imposter. However, I find it not convincing enough to ask for u to fix the mechanism for the crit ratio thing, just as quick powder shouldn't work (which is designed this way) on ditto after transforming. So a test on 3DS would be great. Thx as always!
I'll do the tests then, whenever someone will be free to test with me, I'll test with Farfetch'd, Chansey etc items. Will also confirm in regards to item that doubles stats ( cubone ) if they also work that way
Needs a check in-game. The consensus I've heard from testers is that species that can naturally transform do not get their respective item's boosts, while species that don't normally transform bypass that restriction because GameFreak didn't specifically code them to not work while transformed. So: Ditto = Metal Powder / Quick Powder do not work after transformation Everything else with a signature item = The item works after transformation We've tested the stat items and they seem to be working. Chansey and Farfetch'd sig items are different but theoretically they should have the same effect as the stat items (double the crit rate).
Commit: https://github.com/po-devs/pokemon-online/commit/850d4b5d Committer: Fuzzysqurl Commit Message: Signature Crit Boost items + Transform Fixed the crit rate thing to be the same as stat boosts (aka: Ditto doesn't get affected after transforming)
