Okay. Now I get the concept of gifs. So let's go for my OU team ! (I did the changes I was told, so there it is ^^) Ferrothorn (M) @ Focus Sash Trait: Iron Barbs EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd) - Gyro Ball - Leech Seed - Power Whip - Stealth Rock Ferro is the obvious Rocker on this team, always in the first position. And then, well... Let's face it. People usually don't expect this one to have Sword Dance. It is difficult to use, though, that I know, only do when I'm sure Ferro will survive two attacks. The Sassy nature is here too to make his Sdef almos equel to his Def, and make the Gyro Ball stronger. I hesitated between Seed Bomb and Power Whip, but I chose precision over power. That's my choice. Ferro is here especially for the rocks, after all. Mew @ Hard Stone Shiny: Yes Trait: Synchronize EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Drain Punch - Swords Dance - Sucker Punch - Zen Headbutt Second of my personal surprises for this team. Physical Mew. He's pretty fast, and will surprise pretty much any Steel-type in front of him (except maybe a Bisharp with Sucker Punch), either with Drain Punch or with Earthquake. The Smack Down (I love this underrated move) is there to annoy Flying-types (especially Skarmory, let's face it) and to make them vulnerable. Clefable (M) @ Leftovers Shiny: Yes Trait: Magic Guard EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SAtk Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd) - Flamethrower - Calm Mind - Soft-Boiled - Moonblast In this team, Clef is both a support and a Special attacker. With Calm Mind, he gets stronger, and heals the prospective negative status of the rest of the team with Heal Bell. The Magic Guard also protects him from rocks, spikes, poison and burn.I hesitated to make him with a Bold nature, what do you think ? Starmie @ Mystic Water Trait: Natural Cure EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Scald - Rapid Spin - Psyschock - Thunderbolt The Spinner of the team (this term exists, right ?). With a good SAtk and a good Speed, Star is also a good offensive Pokemon, even though not the tougher of them. The three true offensive move cover a large set of ennemies, in my opinion. Landorus-T (M) @ Black Glasses Shiny: Yes Trait: Intimidate EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Swords Dance - Gravity - Earthquake - Bulk Up A pretty good multipurpose attacker, he already weakens the opponent with Intimidation. Really useful against a physical barbarian. As for Mew, the Smack Down is here to place more Earthquakes, and the Knock Off, even without items, is consolidated by the Black Glasses. Charizard (M) @ Charizardite X Trait: Blaze EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Dragon Dance - Outrage - Fire Punch - Earthquake Here he come, the most brutal of my personal gang of thugs. If I didn't forget to spin out the rocks, Mega Zard X with a Sword Dance is really good to finish what the others began. A late sweep, of some sort. The Outrage may be dangerous, against fairies, but I make sure there isn't any if I use this attack. So ! Shoot the reviews ! :)
Your team has like 0 chances versus Mega Eye Stall. IMO it loses to any team with Sab/Quagsire/Blissey in it. Each and every pokemon need refurbishing tbh. 1) Unless you are running something like Trick Room team. SD Ferro sucks. I'll be honest it's the most polite word to use rn, sorry. Instead you are better off running a bulkier tank Ferro with SR/Leech Seed/Thunder Wave/Gyro Ball or SR/Power Whip/Gyro/Thunder Wave. Sassy is the best nature no doubt but you can tweak out the EVs to make it less of an attacker and more of a wall. Something like max hp/rest in def+spdef. 2) Again 4 attack Mew is bad and smack down is pretty not worth it on OU just like how Future Sight is bad in ubers sigh. The best set for Mew for physical sweeping is SD/Sucker Punch/Drain Punch/Zen Headbutt (Ice punch in place of Sucker Punch if you wanna) with Lum Berry. Plus make it adamant with 285 in the speed stat. Max atk and rest in HP. 3)Clefable is a long term sweeper and you don't give it Soft Boiled? Really? Magic Guard is run best Impish max def and max HP without Heal Bell. I am serious on this I mean. Run CM/Moonblast/Flamethrower/Softboiled 4)Not much on star. Give Starmie lefties. It needs that more than the water. It needs to heal else it cannot keep switching into spikes and SR all the time. Give it psyshock over psychic so it'll hit things like Conkeldurr harder. 5)I'll instead give a better and non standard Landorus-T js. All you need is to make it Jolly with max speed. Max out it's HP and give the last to atk. Give it Sub/Gravity/EQ/ and bulk up. So no need of smack down. And give it leftovers. Totes to Carl Murray me bro. Xd 6)Okay Outrage? Fire Punch? Strange options. But k. "-" that's all. I wasn't trying to be hard on you. But thing is I get really hard on people who stray on the wrong track for a while so eh.
Hum... That's a straightforward answer all right. Let's see... 1. I'll be curious to see what is the wulgar word to say 'Ferro sucks" x) Seriously though, I understand what you're saying to me, and I'll change it eventually, don't worry ^^ 2. Okay ! I'll try that set soon ! ^^ 3. Well I'm not used to heal, but I'll try ^^ 4. Leftovers and Psychic, got it ! 5. Who is Carl Murray ? 6. Nothing to say about Zard ? Really ? :o No problem, don't worry. I post here because people being hard on me may make me better in some sort (not toatlly SM shit, like 'hit me harder !' xD). So thank you again, and I'll see how to sort this out ! :)
Leftovers and psyshock. And change ferro's set immediately. Plus Carl is one of the side metagames tier leader.
Okay. And by the way, I don't think Thunder Wave would be a great idea with Gyro Ball. Can I put SD / Gyro Ball / Leech Seed / Power Whip ?
Just no to SD. Give Ferro 0 IVs in speed so your gyro hits harder. The whole idea of Thunder Wave is to slow down faster threats so that your sweepers can sweep.
Oh crap. I meant SR / Leech Seed / Gyro Ball / Power Whip x) I made the changes you told me about, and yeah, it works. I swept a whole team with Clefable this morning xD I still have a hard time again Quagsire, though. I guess we cannot always win ^^
You can give it a try. P.S The ladder is bad. It doesn't really measure your battling strength. Join scripted tours more.
I already noticed the ladder system is a little lame, sometimes. I still ladder, anyways. What are scripted tours ?
We have a channel called #Tournaments, where the servers hosts tournaments in nearly all tiers. The more skilled members battle there so to say, so it'll be a good test for your teams and your battling capacities.
Ah that ! The channel tournaments ! Yeah, I'm always on it, no problem. I even saw you there once, mister Penspin ^^
That's very possible, I'm quite active there =) Can you edit your first post, so we can see what changes you've implemented? I'll have a look at the team then.
Alright, I'll go over every mon then: 1) Ferrothorn's moveset is good, but the EVs are kinda meh. Ferro should be used as a defensive mon, so having Attack EVs on it doesn't make too much sense, especially since it already hits kinda hard for a defensive mon. I'd suggest using 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD with a Relaxed nature, so you get good bulk on both sides. Also, Ferrothorn lacks realible recovery, so Leftovers is the item to go. 2) Don't have too much experience with Physical Mew, so I'd suggest you take Joyverse's set. Change the item to Lum/Life Orb for sure. 3) The moveset is good for Clefable, but I'd use a different EV spread so you can use it more as a support mon. Try 252 HP/172 Def/84 SpD with a Calm nature. You'll hit less in the beginning, but this spread makes it much easier to set up Calm Minds, which means you'll have an easier time sweeping in the late game. Plus you can play it more as a pivot/tank in the early game. 4) I'd change Starmie's ability to Analytic so you can hit mons harder on the switch. Switching is faster than attacking, so you get the Analytic boost then. You don't really need Natural Cure, as you have Clefable to absorb status. Also, I'd change the item to Life Orb (if you play aggresively with it) or Leftovers (if you prefer the healing). Finally, I'd go for Hydro Pump > Scald for that extra bit of damage. 5) I'm not so sure about this set.. You don't really have a team built around Gravity, so I feel it's kinda a waste of a move. The only mons you want to hit with Gravity are Zapdos and Skarmory, as you can use Stone Edge for nearly every other Flying-type. If you want an offensive Lando-T set, I'd go for this: Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers Ability: Intimidate EVs: 56 HP / 220 Atk / 232 Spe Adamant Nature - Earthquake - Stone Edge - Rock Polish - Swords Dance A +2 EQ does 77-91% damage to Mega Sableye, meaning that you'll most likely OHKO it after a bit of prior damage. +2 Stone Edge deals around 50% damage to Skarm and cleanly OHKOs Zapdos. Both birds shouldn't be too much of a problem really, as ZardX can use them both as setup fodder. You can use Rock Polish to clean vs more offensive teams, while SD works really well vs Stall. 6) I'm personally more a fan of Flare Blitz for wallbreaking and Dragon Claw as your main STAB, because it doesn't lock you into a move when you try to break walls. Outrage/Fire Punch has its merits though, as +1 Outrage is a guaranteed 2HKO on Slowbro, whereas +1 Dragon Claw isn't. Not trying to be mean to you, just giving my feedback. Took most EV spreads and sets from Smogon, which has an amazing dex for competitive play: http://www.smogon.com/dex/xy/pokemon/ Good luck with the team!
Oh I'm dumb, I didn't change the EV repartition. So, without the images, my changed team goes like this : Ferro (Ferrothorn) (M) @ Focus Sash Trait: Iron Barbs EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SDef Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd) - Gyro Ball - Leech Seed - Power Whip - Stealth Rock Clefy (Clefable) (F) @ Leftovers Shiny: Yes Trait: Magic Guard EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Flamethrower - Calm Mind - Soft-Boiled - Moonblast Star (Starmie) @ Leftovers Trait: Natural Cure EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Scald - Rapid Spin - Psyshock - Thunderbolt Zard (Charizard) (M) @ Charizardite X Trait: Blaze EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Dragon Dance - Outrage - Fire Punch - Earthquake Mew @ Leftovers Shiny: Yes Trait: Synchronize EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Drain Punch - Swords Dance - Zen Headbutt - Sucker Punch Lando (Landorus-T) (M) @ Leftovers Shiny: Yes Trait: Intimidate EVs: 252 HP / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Bulk Up - Gravity - Earthquake - Substitute I was not really awake, I guess ? x)
So er i'm Carl Murray. Anyway, I have a lot of suggestions but they will change the team structure. So if you want to keep them use: -Relaxed Nature Ferrothorn with 252 HP 88 Def and 168 in Spe Def, that way you can live Specs Secret Sword from Keldeo -Play 252 Speed and 252 hp with 4 def on Starmie, also play Recover over Thunderbolt for longevity -Play Dragon Claw over Outrage on Charizard and Roost over Earthquake on Charizard, it will help you dealing with more pokemon. Remove the 4evs in hp so you can come in 3 times on Rocks -Your Lando set is fun but won't work in OU. You really have little time to set up, and chosing bet, ween Bulk Up and Swords Dance is very situationnal, SD being way better in the metagame. Since your team has no checks to Charizard X, I would suggest playing impish nature with 252 hp, 244 defense and 12 speed with Rocky helmet as item with Stealth rocks, Stone Edge, Earthquake, U-turn Finally, if you opt Rocks on Lando, you can replace Rocks of Ferro with Spikes so your team has a little more offensive approach, also give it either Leftovers/Rocky Helmet/Shed Shell which can helps. Hope I helped
Ok you are Carl Murray. Nice to meet you xD Thanks for all the advice, though. It's nice to see my shenanigans attract the gaze of the upper spheres x)
