Welcome Teambuilding Process So i made this team while prepping to face @Clarion for smogon's farm leauge. He tends to use a lot of innovation so i decided to take a bulkier approach while team building. I didn't want to bring offense and got swept by something like marill or dd disable kingdra. I figured roar cune+curse lax would be a good core to build around so i just took it home from there. The team PC: @AFK Vision Ward Diamonds Dancing (Suicune) @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Scald - Roar - Sleep Talk - Rest I picked suicune to build around because it's one of the premier physical walls and its ability to staus absorb and phase out physical threats that try to set up is key, I have roar over calm mind because I wanted to pair this mon up with spikes stack and phasing around the opponent is key with this team because it can use all the chip damage it can get. The evs are just standard bulky suicune, i added 16 speed evs so i can outspeed other cunes if needed, more specifically the cm roar variants of suicune. PC: @Sakuya Izayoi Big Rings (Snorlax) (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Thick Fat EVs: 144 HP / 188 Def / 176 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Body Slam - Curse - Rest - Sleep Talk Since Suicune doesn't have calm mind i figured i need a mon that would be able to punish passive mons that have the ability to heal themselves like umbreon, florges, blissey etc. I chose snorlax because all those said mons give snorlax hella free turns to set up and it only serves as a hydreigon check and a chandelure check, the evs and moveset are just the standard curse lax spread. PC: @Draciel Change Locations (Rotom-H) @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 248 HP / 228 Def / 32 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Overheat - Volt Switch - Pain Split - Will-O-Wisp I chose Rotom-H as a secondary doublade/entei check, it is just a good bulky pivot overall and spreading willos throughout the opposing team is never a bad thing to have. I gave my rotom 32 speed evs so i can speed creep blastoise trying to speed creep suicune hue. Rotom is definitely one of the most expendable member on the team but it just fit well (plus it was a zapper counter but we dont have that on po :[). PC: @Ice Tea Digital Dash (Aerodactyl) (F) @ Aerodactylite Trait: Rock Head EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Stone Edge - Earthquake/Aerial Ace - Roost - Defog I didn't want to have snorlax as my only chandelure answer as it cant even touch it + it doesnt appreciate a trick so i added Mega Aero, it also gave me my much needed hazzard removal. I chose to use edge quake as my 2 attacking moves because I didnt want to give lucario an oppurtunity to set up since if it has crunch it has the oppurtunity to plow through my team. Aerial ace is an option over earthquake as it allows you to hit fighting types super effectively, most notably, chesnaught. PC: @Lasen I'm the Plug (Doublade) (M) @ Eviolite Trait: No Guard EVs: 244 HP / 252 Atk / 12 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Sacred Sword - Iron Head - Shadow Sneak - Pursuit I chose doublade because my team looked really annoyed by mons like mega beedrill, fighting types like mienshao, machamp and lucario and curse lax. I chose pursuit over swords dance because i can pursuit mega bees and pyschic types like meloetta and energy ball locked chandelure. 12 speed to speed creep other doublades. PC: @Tendetta Plastic Bag (Chesnaught) (F) @ Leftovers/rocky helmet Trait: Bulletproof EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Drain Punch/wood hammer - Spikes - Leech Seed/synthesis - Spiky Shield I chose chesnaught because I needed a secondary sd gatr check. Chesnaught is also excellent because it gives spike support to my roar suicune. Chesnaught also serves as a nice secondary Lucario check (and it counters crawdaunt be we dont have that either xd) ev spread is..standard. Wood hammer is a nice option as it gives you an option vs Mega Blastoise and calm mind slowking which is a problem to this team. Spoiler: Importable Big Rings (Snorlax) (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Thick Fat EVs: 144 HP / 188 Def / 176 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Body Slam - Curse - Rest - Sleep Talk I'm the Plug (Doublade) (M) @ Eviolite Trait: No Guard EVs: 244 HP / 252 Atk / 12 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Sacred Sword - Iron Head - Shadow Sneak - Pursuit Digital Dash (Aerodactyl) (F) @ Aerodactylite Trait: Rock Head EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Stone Edge - Earthquake - Roost - Defog Diamonds Dancing (Suicune) @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Scald - Roar - Sleep Talk - Rest Plastic Bag (Chesnaught) (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Bulletproof EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Drain Punch - Spikes - Leech Seed - Spiky Shield Change Locations (Rotom-H) @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 248 HP / 228 Def / 32 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Overheat - Volt Switch - Pain Split - Will-O-Wisp Threatlist: Calm Mind Slowking Taunt roost Hydreigon Fast mega blastoise (Putting wood hammer on chesnaught would be a good way to day with the blastoise/slowking problem) Shout outs: @gengar17 longtime PO friend and also the one that gave me the team idea :D @NananaBatman my uu counterpart, fuck you @Draciel :D yeah these are annoying shout out to my fellow mus shout out to everyone in the lounge shout out to the frost cavern crew shout out to @Isa @Finchinator @trc and @D4RR3N it was dope playing for you guys Til Next Time
Shoutouts to me for liking this. More seriously that rotom is heat ( not a joke I swear) The Snorlax made me laugh hard xD Good job on your team, it has nice synergy though Banded Cross Knock off/CC makes huge holes in your team You also have no real answer to volt turn cores since you team will be pressured a lot by them. I find Chesnaught to be the bad guy as you can replace it with something Like flygon to form yourself a volt turn core with Rotom-H, just a suggestion because they kinda complete their weeknesses. I guess you can also take a more bulky approach for Aerodactyl, idk. You're good player so you know what you're doing. Hope I helped a bit
thanks! I dont know about flygon as its niche in the meta is.... non existant altho i do agree with your suggestion on a bulkier aero, i've been tampering with the evs and i havent found a spread that i liked yet so if you find one definitely let me know :D
The thing is Flygon stops Volt Switch, when it has scarf with its nice 100 base speed it can renvenge kill stuff like Victini and spam Outrage late game. I'm not following a lot the ranking in UU so w/e. It was just an idea to stop giving free momentum to opponent. Anyway I feel like a Ground type is always needed in UU ( Nidoking, Hippo maybe? )Plus if you play hippo it will give aero a spe def boost and also a rocker since you don't have one. You have a plethora of choice in UU :)
Hippo over rotom sounds like a sick idea [i made this with smog uu in mind so no hippo] here's the spread for people that want to try it out: Live from the gutter (Hippowdon) (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Sand Stream EVs: 232 HP / 112 Def / 164 SDef Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Slack Off - Toxic - Stealth Rock
Aerodactyl-Mega @ Aerodactylite Ability: Pressure EVs: 200 HP / 92 SpD / 216 Spe Jolly Nature - Taunt - Stone Edge - Earthquake - Roost heres a aero set ive been messing around, a bit more defensive orientated aero the spread makes scarf chandys shadow ball only a 3hko and scald torrent empoleon not ohko and a bit more i cant recall atm suggesting taunt over defog cuz u dont want ur hazards get defogged away and defogging ur owns hazards is a bit contraproductive so taunt>defog imo
Weird team, your only way of dealing damage is through hazard stack and yet u dont have SR (not to forget that u have defog over spin), snaga has officially gone insane. Rotom definitely looks out of place, seeing as you have 3 fire checks already. Perhaps you could replace aero for a mega toise and switch rotom for taunt hydreigon because it's effective on spike stack. tf is this shoutout even.
