Hello and welcome to the ORAS Ubers Sample Team Thread! The purpose of this thread is to present to you some solid and simple to use teams. The teams were gathered by players from our PO community and they can be used by players of any level or playstyle preference. The selection of the teams was done along with @Serga | @La.Melle2402 | @Elize Lutus So lets move on with the presentation of the teams: Team Style: Hyper Offense Creator: Smogon Oras Ubers Council (aka Standard HO) Spoiler: Importable w/Dual Screens Deo-S Deoxys-Speed @ Light Clay Ability: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Taunt - Reflect - Light Screen - Stealth Rock Groudon-Primal @ Red Orb Ability: Desolate Land EVs: 104 HP / 252 Atk / 96 SpD / 56 Spe Adamant Nature - Rock Polish - Precipice Blades - Stone Edge - Swords Dance Salamence @ Salamencite Ability: Intimidate EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe Adamant Nature - Dragon Dance - Return - Earthquake - Roost Arceus @ Life Orb Ability: Multitype EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Swords Dance - ExtremeSpeed - Shadow Claw - Earthquake Xerneas @ Power Herb Ability: Fairy Aura EVs: 184 HP / 32 Def / 252 SpA / 40 Spe Modest Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Geomancy - Moonblast - Focus Blast - Thunder Darkrai @ Life Orb Ability: Bad Dreams EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Dark Void - Nasty Plot - Dark Pulse - Sludge Bomb Spoiler: Importable with Focus Sash + Skill Swap Deo-S Deoxys-Speed @ Focus Sash Ability: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Taunt - Skill Swap - Spikes - Stealth Rock Groudon-Primal @ Red Orb Ability: Desolate Land EVs: 104 HP / 252 Atk / 96 SpD / 56 Spe Adamant Nature - Rock Polish - Precipice Blades - Stone Edge - Swords Dance Salamence @ Salamencite Ability: Intimidate EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe Adamant Nature - Dragon Dance - Return - Earthquake - Roost Arceus @ Life Orb Ability: Multitype EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Swords Dance - ExtremeSpeed - Shadow Claw - Earthquake Xerneas @ Power Herb Ability: Fairy Aura EVs: 184 HP / 32 Def / 252 SpA / 40 Spe Modest Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Geomancy - Moonblast - Focus Blast - Thunder Darkrai @ Life Orb Ability: Bad Dreams EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Dark Void - Nasty Plot - Dark Pulse - Sludge Bomb Spoiler: Description I really can't say this is my team or really anyone's team because it's literally just bog standard ORAS HO. Set up screens or/and hazards with Deoxys-S and then set up and kill stuff. Prone to matchup issues + hax, but is good for getting started on the ladder and ending games quickly. Double Dance Primal Groudon is the Xerneas check and helps break physical walls so Dragon Dance Mega Salamence or Extreme Killer can clean up later. Geomancy Xerneas provides an alternate win condition while Darkrai helps with Ghosts, Latis, and Calm Mind Arceus formes. Team Style: Hyper Offense Creator: @Gunner Rohan Spoiler: Importable Greninja @ Focus Sash Ability: Protean EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Rash Nature - Toxic Spikes - Taunt - Hydro Pump - Spikes Groudon-Primal @ Red Orb Ability: Desolate Land EVs: 252 HP / 192 Atk / 48 SpD / 16 Spe Adamant Nature - Rock Polish - Swords Dance - Precipice Blades - Dragon Claw Salamence-Mega @ Salamencite Ability: Intimidate EVs: 40 HP / 252 Atk / 216 Spe Adamant Nature - Double-Edge - Earthquake - Dragon Dance - Roost Arceus-Ghost @ Spooky Plate Ability: Multitype EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Shadow Force - Brick Break - Extreme Speed - Swords Dance Mewtwo @ Life Orb Ability: Unnerve EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Psystrike - Fire Blast - Ice Beam - Taunt Xerneas @ Power Herb Ability: Fairy Aura EVs: 196 Def / 252 SpA / 60 Spe Modest Nature - Moonblast - Focus Blast - Hidden Power [Rock] - Geomancy Spoiler: Description This is a Hyper Offense team with suicide Greninja. Hydro Pump on Greninja can beat Magic Bouncers like Mega Sableye & Mega Diancie. It's optimal to lead with Greninja & try to get a layer of Toxic Spikes up. However, Greninja is susceptible to fast taunt mons like Darkrai / Mewtwo, so in case you see one of those mons, you could try to lead with Mewtwo instead. Primal Groudon / Mega-Salamence / Arceus-Ghost / Xerneas are all set up sweepers. The pair of Arceus-Ghost and Mega-Salamence can take on Arceus Extreme Killer and Primal Groudon + Arceus Ghost can take on Xerneas in case of Geomancy (which is pretty unlikely). Mewtwo is fast taunt and stallbreaker mon & can keep hazards on the field if play with correctly. Overall, getting hazards off helps a lot in the beginning and can pressure the opposing team and ensure a win. Team Style: Bulky Offense Creator: @Troller Spoiler: Importable Gengar (M) @ Gengarite Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Timid Nature - Focus Blast - Sludge Wave - Protect - Destiny Bond Groudon @ Red Orb Trait: Drought EVs: 248 HP / 48 Def / 212 SDef Relaxed Nature - Lava Plume - Stealth Rock - Thunder Wave - Precipice Blades Arceus-Ground @ Earth Plate Trait: Multitype EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Jolly Nature - Recover - Stone Edge - Swords Dance - Earthquake Kyogre @ Blue Orb Trait: Drizzle EVs: 168 HP / 252 SAtk / 88 Spd Modest Nature - Origin Pulse - Ice Beam - Thunder - Calm Mind Giratina-O @ Griseous Orb Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 Atk / 244 Def / 12 Spd Adamant Nature - Shadow Sneak - Earthquake - Defog - Dragon Tail Ho-Oh @ Choice Band Trait: Regenerator EVs: 248 HP / 204 Atk / 56 SDef Adamant Nature - Sacred Fire - Brave Bird - Sleep Talk - Earthquake Spoiler: Description I started building this team around Ho oh. So i then added Giratina, as a check for Primal Groudon, as well as a good defogger. It is important to keep Giratina alive for defog, otherwise ho oh will be weakened a lot! Then i continued building and i used a needed a check for Kyogre and a stealth rock setter, so my obvious choice was a solid Primal Groudon. Then, this team needed a good trapper, so i can deal with ekiller, while at the same time have help against stall matchups, and Mega Gengar was my pick. For the end, i wanted a good special attacker and a cool late game sweeper so i went with Kyogre and Groundceus. I chose groundceus cause i hate having recoil damage from LO, while its typing helps my team a lot. Team Style: Sand Bulky Offense Creator: @lord outrage Spoiler: Importable Salamence (M) @ Salamencite Ability: Intimidate EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe Adamant Nature - Dragon Dance - Double-Edge - Refresh - Roost Excadrill (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Sand Rush EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Rapid Spin - Earthquake - Rock Slide - Iron Head Arceus-Ghost @ Spooky Plate Ability: Multitype EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Swords Dance - Shadow Force - Brick Break - Extreme Speed Yveltal @ Dread Plate Ability: Dark Aura EVs: 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 Spe Impish Nature - Foul Play - Sucker Punch - U-turn - Roost Groudon @ Red Orb Ability: Drought EVs: 252 HP / 124 Atk / 48 SpD / 84 Spe Adamant Nature - Thunder Wave - Swords Dance - Precipice Blades - Fire Punch Tyranitar (M) @ Lum Berry Ability: Sand Stream EVs: 248 HP / 92 Def / 168 SpD Careful Nature - Stealth Rock - Thunder Wave - Pursuit - Rock Slide Spoiler: Description This sand bulky offensive squad is great versus hyper offensive teams especially with Excadrill's pace in sand and access to Rapid Spin. It also has multiple tools to break through stall teams like Swords Dance / Thunder Wave Primal Groudon. Lum Berry Tyranitar checks Darkrai and Yveltal. With this spread it can take a +1 Earthquake from Mega Salamence after Stealth Rock damage. Ghostceus is there for great sweeping potential and to check Extreme Killer. Yveltal is there to check multiple offensive threats and with Dread Plate to cause huge damage. Team Style:Arceus-Dragon + Bronzong Balance Creator: @Konzern Spoiler: Importable Ho-Oh @ Life Orb Ability: Regenerator EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Brave Bird - Sacred Fire - Earthquake - Thunder Wave Gengar-Mega @ Gengarite Ability: Shadow Tag EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Hex - Will-O-Wisp - Focus Blast - Protect Arceus-Dragon @ Draco Plate Ability: Multitype EVs: 252 HP / 192 Def / 64 Spe Bold Nature - Judgment - Toxic - Recover - Defog Groudon @ Red Orb Ability: Drought EVs: 252 HP / 104 Atk / 144 SpD / 8 Spe Adamant Nature - Swords Dance - Thunder Wave - Precipice Blades - Rock Slide Bronzong @ Leftovers Ability: Levitate EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD Sassy Nature IVs: 0 Spe - Gyro Ball - Toxic - Stealth Rock - Protect Kyogre-Primal @ Blue Orb Ability: Primordial Sea EVs: 248 HP / 168 Def / 92 Spe Bold Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Sleep Talk - Rest - Scald - Ice Beam Spoiler: Description This is a Dragonceus + Bronzong balance team. Bronzong and dragonceus compliment each other because bronzong is able to deal with fairys that trouble dragonceus, while dragonceus is able to beat fire move pdon and also beat pogre. Since bronzong is carrying rocks, it allows pdon to run a paradance set which helps with the matchup vs stall. With rocks off the field because of dragonceus being a defog variant, hooh was added to abuse this fact. A fast variant of hooh was chosen to win 50/50s and also take people by surprise. I also decided to run thunderwave>sleeptalk and instead also run pogre. Pogre was the sleeptalker of choice and helped emergency check many threats. Finally sword dance variants of arceus were threatening so will o wisp hex gengar was chosen as the mega slot. Along with this, 5/6 of the teammates on the team had a status move to abuse hex to the max. Possible changes is sub hooh or possibly roost. You could also change ice beam to toxic on pogre as a lure. - Konzern Team Style: Semi-Stall Creator: @Lacus Clyne Spoiler: Importable Diancie @ Diancite Ability: Clear Body EVs: 248 HP / 124 Def / 136 Spe Bold Nature - Protect - Moonblast - Diamond Storm - Heal Bell Groudon @ Red Orb Ability: Drought EVs: 248 HP / 56 Def / 204 SpD Sassy Nature - Stealth Rock - Lava Plume - Earthquake - Thunder Wave Ferrothorn (F) @ Leftovers Ability: Iron Barbs EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD Sassy Nature IVs: 0 Spe - Leech Seed - Protect - Gyro Ball - Toxic Arceus-Water @ Splash Plate Ability: Multitype EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 Spe Bold Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Judgment - Toxic - Recover - Defog Ho-Oh @ Life Orb Ability: Regenerator EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Sacred Fire - Earthquake - Brave Bird - Sleep Talk Lugia @ Leftovers Ability: Multiscale EVs: 248 HP / 124 Def / 136 Spe Bold Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Ice Beam - Roost - Whirlwind - Toxic Spoiler: Description The Diancie Semi Stall team has a normal match up against all teams and can do massive damage while being passive or offensive. Mega-Diancie walls most of the dark types and provides the team with heal bell support. It often acts as a lead since It can also function as a counter lead. Lugia walls all physical threats and checks Mega-Salamence. Primal-Groudon has the stealth rocks and walls with Ferrothorn Primal-Kyogre. Ferrothorn is also the pokemon which is tanking most of the special attacks and supporting the team with passive damage. Arceus-Water is the defoger and Ho-Oh functions as the stall breaker. Team Style: Stall Creator: @Mysterious M Spoiler: Importable Groudon @ Red Orb Trait: Drought EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Spd Sassy Nature - Stealth Rock - Roar - Lava Plume - Rest Yveltal @ Rocky Helmet Trait: Dark Aura EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spd Impish Nature - Foul Play - Sucker Punch - Taunt - Roost Ho-Oh @ Leftovers Trait: Regenerator EVs: 248 HP / 92 Def / 168 SDef Careful Nature - Sacred Fire - Brave Bird - Roost - Toxic Arceus-Water @ Splash Plate Trait: Multitype EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 Spd Timid Nature - Toxic - Defog - Judgment - Recover Clefable (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Unaware EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef Calm Nature - Wish - Protect - Heal Bell - Moonblast Sableye (M) @ Sablenite Trait: Prankster EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef Impish Nature - Fake Out - Will-O-Wisp - Recover - Foul Play Spoiler: Description So this is the final version of my stall, the one i rmted some months ago. The basic change i made was Waterceus instead of Groundceus cause of the team's weakness to Ho Oh & P.Kyo. Now things are a lot better. With Waterceus you can deal with P.Dons,Ho Ohs and have support for Kyo. It is a major part of the team and you have to keep it alive, so it can defog and keep my Ho Oh up. Mega Sableye is the arceus counter as well as the hazard bouncer, and i paired it with Yveltal which can take down Sala,Ray and other physical threats. Ho Oh , is one of my favorites as it is a special tanker, while it has toxic for P.Dons switch ins or other switch ins. Along with my P.Don they are the special walls of my team. P.Don, sets up rocks, and eats special damage while rest is godly paired with Clefable. The last one, is important for the team, as it is a back up mon. Apart from healing it can help deal with set up mons due to its Unaware ability. Darkrai can be a problem for the team, but it is easy to play around. I am proud of this stall and i hope you use it, and have fun :) I hope you found that thread useful. If you are interested in submitting your team, just contact one of us via pm either on forums, or on PO. We will look into it, and if it is solid it can make it into the thread.
Nice thread Mysterious M, nice thinking about the uber community a lot. Am looking forward to your future posts. Keep up the good work mate
Sand Hyper Offense Spoiler: Importable Tyranitar (F) @ Shuca Berry Ability: Sand Stream EVs: 252 HP / 108 Def / 148 SpD Adamant Nature - Stealth Rock - Thunder Wave - Pursuit - Rock Slide Excadrill (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Sand Rush EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Iron Head - Rock Slide - Earthquake - Rapid Spin Salamence (M) @ Salamencite Ability: Intimidate EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe Adamant Nature - Refresh - Dragon Dance - Return - Roost Kyogre @ Blue Orb Ability: Drizzle EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spe Bold Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Calm Mind - Scald - Ice Beam - Rest Groudon @ Red Orb Ability: Drought EVs: 128 HP / 252 Atk / 128 Spe Adamant Nature - Rock Polish - Precipice Blades - Fire Punch - Stone Edge Arceus @ Life Orb Ability: Multitype EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Swords Dance - Extreme Speed - Shadow Claw - Stone Edge Basic Sand HO centered around ExcaTar with other powerful wallbreakers. Tyranitar is nice to trap Latis, which helps Primal Groudon and Kyogre sweep later on. Usually use Mega Mence P-Don and P-Ogre to wallbreak first, elimating threats like Mega Sableye, Ferrothorn and Ho-Oh, then usually sweep with Exca and Ekiller later on. Has a hard matchup versus Ho-Oh balance if P-Don is weakened and stall if P-Ogre is killed. Only difficult thing about this team is to keep T-Tar alive, but that is why it has Shuca Berry, which allows it to take an Earthquake from Ho-Oh and KO it with Rock Slide. It's really just another brainless HO team that is quit effective in the current meta. Most of the sets are self-explanatory.
Looks like I am the only one who gave out an RMT style description, lol. That only makes things easier tho, I assume. Anyway, it's nice to see the Ubers sub forum liven up again.
Hello Guys Try This Hyper Offense Spoiler Scolipede (M) @ Focus Sash Trait: Speed Boost EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature - Toxic Spikes - Pin Missile - Endeavor - Protect Salamence (M) @ Salamencite Trait: Intimidate EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Jolly Nature - Frustration - Roost - Earthquake - Dragon Dance Arceus @ Lum Berry Trait: Multitype EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature - Extreme Speed - Shadow Force - Swords Dance - Earthquake Xerneas @ Power Herb Trait: Fairy Aura EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Modest Nature - Moonblast - Geomancy - Hidden Power [Ground] - Thunder Ditto @ Choice Scarf Trait: Imposter EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd Modest Nature - Transform - (No Move) - (No Move) - (No Move) Kyogre @ Blue Orb Trait: Drizzle EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature - Thunder - Ice Beam - Origin Pulse - Sleep Talk | a Good One To sweep Teams and can break Stalls. Here i Give the Description ,http://pastebin.com/GstNer5f Elize edit: changed the nature to Jolly and added spoiler so it's better to see :)
Hardy Nature Scolipede what Xerneas evs should be like this: 184 HP / 28 Def / 252 SpA / 44 Spe explanation: Maximum Special Attack investment ensures that Xerneas hits as hard as possible once boosted so that it can effectively sweep; the most prominent benchmark is a guaranteed OHKO on maximum HP Arceus formes after Stealth Rock. 44 Speed EVs are used so that Xerneas is faster than Choice Scarf Genesect after a Geomancy boost. 28 Defense EVs give Genesect a Special Attack boost with Download and, when combined with the 184 HP EVs, they allow Xerneas to always survive a +2 standard Extreme Killer Arceus's Extreme Speed after Stealth Rock. A spread of 56 HP / 156 Def / 252 SpA / 44 Spe with a Modest nature can always survive +1 Adamant Mega Salamence's Return and gives Xerneas more physical bulk in general; however, it's 2HKOed by Life Orb Yveltal's Oblivion Wing much more often. A Power Herb allows Xerneas to set up Geomancy in a single turn. I Don't rlly like adamant ceus bc it gets outsped by jolly ceus, also shadow claw > shadow force imo ditto is terrible don't use it that's all i guess
Yes i have Adamant arceus but i always use Jolly Scolipede. When u said Hardy Scolipede i checked my Teambuilder but its on Jolly Nature.I straightly typed /importable and copied and Pasted it but Its hardy nature.IDK but thanks Trace for advised bout other pkmns.
Diancie Semi Stall This team is pretty much standard and every good Ubers player must have made something similiar to this so there is no reason why I shouldn't post my version. It's pretty much Semi-Stall based on Diancie. Arceus-Water, Lugia and Ferrothorn are like the main walls and are providing the teams with a lot of defensive energy while Ho-Oh breaks down walls. Primal-Groudon functions as our stealth rocker and Mega-Diancie as the cleric. There are no things to improve since that team is already solid as it is. I post some replays to show how the team works. Against malefic for seasonals: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ubers-316970040 Against TGMD also for seasonals: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ubers-322572955 Spoiler: Importable Diancie @ Diancite Ability: Clear Body EVs: 248 HP / 124 Def / 136 Spe Bold Nature - Protect - Moonblast - Diamond Storm - Heal Bell Groudon @ Red Orb Ability: Drought EVs: 248 HP / 56 Def / 204 SpD Sassy Nature - Stealth Rock - Lava Plume - Earthquake - Thunder Wave Ferrothorn (F) @ Leftovers Ability: Iron Barbs EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD Sassy Nature IVs: 0 Spe - Leech Seed - Protect - Gyro Ball - Toxic Arceus-Water @ Splash Plate Ability: Multitype EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 Spe Bold Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Judgment - Toxic - Recover - Defog Ho-Oh @ Life Orb Ability: Regenerator EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Sacred Fire - Earthquake - Brave Bird - Sleep Talk Lugia @ Leftovers Ability: Multiscale EVs: 248 HP / 124 Def / 136 Spe Bold Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Ice Beam - Roost - Whirlwind - Toxic
Team List Updated [ 10 Teams ] With a version of sand bulky offense by Lord Outrage. * People interested in submitting teams pm! *
just curious how does that team deal w/ stall i mean theoretically twave sd wallbreaks and mence cleans later but i doubt the team has the backbone to pull that off and breaking past sab is gonna be a massive pain in the ass and i feel like it could be further optimized the team is far from bad though maybe i'm being nitpicky but ppl say the 1 who submitted the team is p gud and hence the expectations
I remember playing against that sand offense team tho. Thing dies to Yveltal and sub ho-oh quite easily, Js, I wouldn't bother using it. It deals well with opposite offensive teams if it can set up first, but that's about it.
Guys it is a sample team thread, not an RMT. I did post the team because it is really decent and it does what it says. Such "attacks" to the thread or opinions such "i wont bother using it", i cant accept them. This thread's aim is to help people and seeing these comments makes me angry af. @cries in vain before you judge post your own team
while i disagree w/ haze victory's comment I'll respond to the above comment when u accept a team u should provide some reasoning as to why it was accepted and how it performs vs various archetypes how is pointing out a blatantly obv flaw 'attacking' the 'thread' idgi it's in the best interest of the thread to explain how a team fares against a particular archetype esp when smth relevant isn't mentioned a 'sample teams' thread should make the players aware of the pros and cons of a team afaik
I'm not an Ubers pro player, I have some basics in the tier but I can see where you're going, I guess there's a more friendly way of saying it. First of all, I'ld like to mention most these teams are used on PO sim, in tournaments and the idea of this thread was to revive the Ubers section, since it's been dead for a long time, and also a starting point for PO players to play Ubers ( I don't know if you get in a lot, but we've been lacking severely of players), and so, despite the teams being perfect or not, Mysterious M tried to revive the community, which is in my opinion a very fair point. I guess it lacks a more solid description, which normally the people who provide the teams should do, since they're the one to post it to be used as a Sample team. Furthermore, I do believe Ubers is anyway very matchup oriented, and a lot can change basically by one set up move, which is in this tier, a big deal. Thus, I do believe the thing to say is simply and not in a rude way to fix the descriptions. Saying a team loses to that mon or that mon with this specific set is in my opinion useless, sub Ho-oh is not as much used it was in BW2/XY so pointing out this seems irrelevant for me. A team can't compensate the prediction part of Pokemon and no team is perfect. Everyone is cool, that's a community, we should make things better, not destroy a thread that has as main purpose reviving PO and Ubers ~
It's my team so I'll tell. My main idea was to have a team around Scarf Ogre because in my opinion it can still be viable if you remove Groudon ( which is why I have Groundceus ) I wanted to be original and I picked Scarf ogre and had some success in tours, which is why i shared it
take out elize lutus's team.. sorry just not good even on ladder. sample team is meant to be easily used for someone new. also on a side note, the HO team posted by is sub optimal and i've pastebined a better version of it, ur better of going endeavor scoli>deo s so u get safe mega evo for gengar from 1 percent opposing mon plus hexgar is fun. this also allows for 3 attack bond mgengar, i still did deo s just to keep structure of old team Spoiler Deoxys-Speed @ Rocky Helmet Ability: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 Spe Bold Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Taunt - Skill Swap - Spikes - Stealth Rock Groudon-Primal @ Red Orb Ability: Desolate Land EVs: 104 HP / 252 Atk / 96 SpD / 56 Spe Adamant Nature - Rock Polish - Precipice Blades - Stone Edge - Swords Dance Xerneas @ Power Herb Ability: Fairy Aura EVs: 184 HP / 32 Def / 252 SpA / 40 Spe Modest Nature - Geomancy - Moonblast - Hidden Power [Ground] - Aromatherapy Arceus @ Life Orb Ability: Multitype EVs: 128 HP / 252 Atk / 128 Spe Adamant Nature - Swords Dance - Extreme Speed - Shadow Claw - Earthquake Darkrai @ Focus Sash Ability: Bad Dreams EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Dark Void - Nasty Plot - Dark Pulse - Thunder Gengar (M) @ Gengarite Ability: Levitate EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Destiny Bond - Shadow Ball - Focus Blast - Sludge Wave
Isn't this as sub-optimal version of standard HO? You just changed some moves and added gengar, which is worse than megamence here imo
I wrote it both in thread and in earlier post, PM THE TEAMS! Not post it here because we have people like him judging everything. Thank you.
Please try to be civil in this thread, I edited a couple of posts and if I really have to do that again I'll start handing out infractions. Thank you.
Not a Ubers player but there's something wrong here. Just because user cries in vain isn't part of your little circlejerk doesn't mean he cannot offer his input on the teams posted here. The way I see it, no1 has given him a decent reply as of yet. How can an opinion be wrong even. It's an opinion. Besides, if it's so wrong, perhaps you should try and explain why it is so. You need to get off your high horses, srsly.
^ this and how is it okay if a user you know does it : but then you respond like this: when a person that has different thoughts than you posts a team in the thread Just because you're contributing to this dwindling community doesn't mean you're king shit and know more than everyone. The thread idea is awesome but the way it's being handled is sub par
i mean when u'r defending a team w/ scarf ogre and a team w/o a ground resist in ubers exempting non mega gar by saying ''u'r not in the council of the ppl who accept teams stfu'' do u rly expect that ur opinion will be taken srsly every1 appreciates the fact that u'r trying to revive a community so do i but ur quixotic statements r incongruous w/ ur objective i sincerely do feel so
Wow. All i tried to do is help and i think i tried too much. Sample Teams Thread is not a thread for people to judge eveything, and if so this can be done in a private way, not through posting in public. I mean check the smogon thread, things there are peaceful, no attacking or w/e. I found funny @NananaBatman talking about circlejerks (it is obvious why).
I don't agree with what MM said, imo teams in sample teams thread should be judged by everyone who has some knowledge on the tier. However, opinions can be expressed without attacking anyone, @Mysterious M just tried to revive the ubers sub forum and he probably just needs constructive feedback and / or someone to help him.
Anyway, i decided to change the council responsible for this thread, since some of them seem to not care anymore. @Serga joins and @TraceofLife leaves. There might be one more change. With the help i hope of the new team, we will go over the samples, edit or delete them and provide a better thread. Sorry for any problems i caused, turned out me being alone on this was bad.
Care to elaborate on this obvious ad hominem? I didn't ask for other users to post, nor did I beg them for likes. If anything, this just proves I was right in questionning your posting. I called you out on circlejerking because "You are not in this team, and therefore have no authority or whatever to spam your (mostly wrong) opinions in here. " is extremely elitist and makes it look like only your clique's opinion matters. I don't see how I am any part of some circlejerk in this thread.
idk i guess i sounded wrong as i said it, i meant that there is a team responsible for that. My posts in this thread will only consider Ubers and teams now on, no more drama from me.
mega gengar ho is a common ho style that is used by ladder and tour players…. my goal was to optimize an unoptimzed version of HO which i did imo. the team has its faults yes, but the set changes made it better in general….
Your ground resist is , as cries in vain said, non megagar, which means pdon or groundceus will 6-0 you. This is the main flaw this team has, but it's not the only one. If I were you, I would compare the team you posted with sample HO, and decide which one is better (imo sample HO). From there, you can try to get used to a HO team to improve at playing with it, this will probably make it easier to build your own HO team.
Important note for the thread: I feel like i need to clear something out. Since there is already a famous sample team thread in smogon with some solid teams etc, i wanted to make clear that my goal with this thread was to make a PO Sample Team one, with teams coming from our own community, while following the main format of Smogon's. So we picked the teams fitting each playstyle (ho,balance, stall), while at the same time we tried not to copy any teams from the other thread. I understand in the process some teams may have not been as solid as i thought, and the new updated thread will cover any issues created. I updated the list taking off Elize Lotus team, and there will be an overall editing of the teams, as well a couple of new additions to them. Thanks for @Serga willing to help me.
Update! The team list is now updated, featuring the standard HO team by Smogon's Council and a really solid Arceus-Dragon + Bronzong Balance by Konzern.
Yeah it is a kinda worse version of the standard ho. Exca can work in ubers either as a lead with backup for darkrai, or with sand, as showcased in one if the sample teams above.
