Hey folks. I'm Bond from the PO server (unfortunately there's already someone in this forum by that nick ;-;). I mainly do battling in lower tiers-Gengar17 & Melle would probably remember me for my smash-pass team in NU xD.In fact, I was actually going to make an RMT for that, but gengar begged me not to :P Anyways,as I said,I never was that good at OU, till I started clicking with this team-it helped me cross 1500 points for the first time and peaked at #19 ^.^ It's pretty much built around a monster called MegaMedicham. And a certain move good enough to wipe out three quarters of the metagame.Yep- the move after which this team is named. Behold, the HI JUMP KICK Without further ado, here's a look at the team- In-depth Analysis The Hit&Run Thug Garchomp (F) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Rough Skin EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd/ 4 Def Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Outrage - Stone Edge - Earthquake - Dual Chop This thing just never gets old, does it? Need a late game sweep? Call me maybe. Need to outspeed stuff? Call me maybe. One of the most efficient revenge killers-I simply love this thing.Countless times, people think it's a standard bulky lead chomp and get hit hard while taunting.Obviously I usually use it as late as possible, but this thing can damage you any time.Adamant just to hit harder, though I do run Jolly mostly.Adamant eq usually 2hkos the so-called bulky mons.Outrage is for late-game cleaning up. Stone Edge has won me a few games on its own-surprising tornadus-T/ thundurus who are quite a threat otherwise. Dual chop coz it comes in handy in breaking subs. The Wall Zapdos @ Rocky Helmet Trait: Pressure EVs: 248 HP / 180 Def / 72 SDef / 8 Spd IVs: 30 HP / 30 Def Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Discharge - Defog - Roost - Hidden Power [Ice] Talonflame tearing you apart? Here's your man. Don't know what to do mega lopunny comes in? Call this guy. Zapdos makes a fabulous tank, spreads paralysis like aids with discharge, takes care of lando-T/chomp with HP Ice, and finally defogs for moth.If ever there was a utility tank,it's this thing.Won't die to anything bar a CB-Tar SE. Most importantly,it protects my team from that bloody red bird which otherwise slices my team in half.If mega cham dies early, I probably curse a lot; but if this thing dies,it's usually game over since the other members don't take too many hits.Helmet>lefties to hurt Talon. The Man of Steel Scizor (M) @ Shed Shell Trait: Technician EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 156 SDef / 20 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Swords Dance - Bullet Punch - Knock Off - Roost My mega Gardevoir stopper-cum-priority spammer-cum-toxic stall breaker.I actually dunno why I chose that EV spread, but it lives 2 hyper voices with SR up-so I'm ok with it :) What scizor gives the team is bulk, at the same time turning into a deadly sweeper if its checks are gone.Adamant max att is basically to KO Gardevoir, and take a chunk out of Azu/Sylveon. Shed shell coz fuck magnets. I used to run Bug bite but Knock gives more coverage. Forms a decent duo with Zapdos and kills the teams which rely on Toxic kills (unless they run Soak on Alo ._. ) The Venomous Snake Serperior (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Contrary EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SAtk / 30 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Leaf Storm - Substitute - Dragon Pulse - Hidden Power [Fire] Serperior is a unique pokemon-you either wall it completely or get rekt. Primarily used to lure in Chansey/Heatran and simultaneously going to Cham, it creates an opening for MegaCham to dent the opponent's team real hard. Obviously this thing is no joke by itself-with that speed spread it takes care of quite a few things like keldeo.Leaf storm is the primary move to spam, making it more and more godly every turn.Sub to scout teams since it's quite frail and U-turn weak. Dragon pulse for dragons.HP fire for Ferro/Scizor.Very useful for taking out things that Mega cham can't hit-like Sableye, slowbro, etc. The Buzzing Moth Volcarona (F) @ Lum Berry Trait: Flame Body EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd/4 Def IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SAtk / 30 SDef Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Quiver Dance - Flamethrower - Hidden Power [Ground] - Bug Buzz The unsung hero of this team.Statistically speaking, Moth has single-handedly won me more games than MegaCham.I noticed that many teams nowadays are completely unprepared for it,thinking SR ruins it.Well,it does, but if it gets in full HP and manages to get a dance, this thing virtually mega evolves xD. Timid nature outspeeds scarf Lando T & Exca. Not that it reduces its hitting power though-at +1, it does ~65% to MegaZard Y with flamethrower.I ran fire blast but got sick of cursing the RNG gods after missing at critical moments;-; HP ground for Heatran, who would wall it otherwise.Basically you need stuff like Dragonite/Azumarill to stop it post the dance.Flame body's pretty handy too-burning a few physical sweepers and giving me a few chuckles xD. Finally, it's time for our MVP.Ladies and Gentlemen, I give to you the one and only Muhammad Ali. The Knock-out Specialist Medicham (F) @ Medichamite Trait: Pure Power EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd/4 Def Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Fake Out - High Jump Kick - Zen Headbutt - Bullet Punch How high was Nintendo when they made this? 600 att, Base 100 speed, and its not like Deo-A. Unless there's a ghost in the team, I switch this in while the serperior/moth checks come in, click HJK, and watch my opponent go dafuq as it nearly kills the so-called "resistances". HJK + BP + Zen kills Tornadus, Latios, Thundurus,Zapdos,...*read 90% of the OU tier*. Zen for gengar & mega Saur. Basically there's only one rule of switching into Mega Cham- Spoiler You don't switch in.Period. Although it isnt that bulky, it doesn't die so easily either, and Jolly nature makes it outspeed most of the bulky ones attempting to counter it.Fake out& Bullet punch help in wearing down things which are faster and are gonna revenge kill it. I ran Ice punch but BP provides a solid check against Mega Diancie/Weavile. Things I Hate (read Checks and Counters) Slowbro & Chansey together- Somehow take out Chansey.Else if Moth & Serp dies, click x and crie ;-; Sableye(ghosts in general)- Mega cham can't spam HJK :'( Gengar can be dealt with, but sableye is quite a bastard, burning all my precious mons. THIS. So that's it folks-my first RMT. Feel free to say anything-suggestions, replacements, tips on getting better, etc. Cheers guys :) Spoiler: Importable Garchomp (F) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Rough Skin EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Outrage - Stone Edge - Earthquake - Dual Chop Zapdos @ Rocky Helmet Trait: Pressure EVs: 248 HP / 180 Def / 72 SDef / 8 Spd IVs: 30 HP / 30 Def Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Discharge - Defog - Roost - Hidden Power [Ice] Scizor (M) @ Shed Shell Trait: Technician EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 156 SDef / 20 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Swords Dance - Bullet Punch - Knock Off - Roost Serperior (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Contrary EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SAtk / 30 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Leaf Storm - Substitute - Dragon Pulse - Hidden Power [Fire] Volcarona (F) @ Lum Berry Trait: Flame Body EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SAtk / 30 SDef Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Quiver Dance - Flamethrower - Hidden Power [Ground] - Bug Buzz Medicham (F) @ Medichamite Trait: Pure Power EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Fake Out - High Jump Kick - Zen Headbutt - Bullet Punch
Hey James, and gratz on hitting the 1500 mark.I wouldn't be surprised if you went ahead and topped the ladder with this as I am having a hard time coming up with any suggestions myself. For one,I see a core of specially defensive M Sableye and Stallbreaker Talonflame(Usually runs Taunt,Birdspam,Wisp,Roost) being very threatening to your team, and pretty much entirely cripples it when played right.Though it isn't very popular and in all honesty I've only come across one other player successfully running it.Mega Eye is cancer though and let's just hope it gets a suspect testing soon.Though it seems unlikely and the TL's don't seem to care about it either.Apart from that,I feel your team handles most other threats very well, and is one of the finer offensive teams I've come across in Oras.In all honesty I'll tell you to go ahead and top the ladder.Get plenty of rest in between tho.It makes a huge difference when playing with a fresh mind when compared to a tired one and grinding against losses on a tired brain is only idiocity, tho you probably realize that already. I wouldn't pay much heed to Meye as there's nothing most teams can change to cope with it without foiling their balance.Mega Sableye is Mega Sableye and thing is likely gonna remain aids throughout this generation.
Cool team :) i just see a huge weakness that annoys me a bit, tflame just rips through 5/6 with bbird (chomper not a switch), and zapdos cant switch in flareblitz especially after rocks, speaking of rocks, i see that ur team doesnt carry them, which gives opposing tflames a field day. since u have volca and serp ur not too weak to m sableye but everything dies to tflame. So what i recommend is switching chomper set to good old bulky chomp with rocks, which lets u handle tflame incredibly better. If bro+chansey are annoying to u i suggest switching zapdos for a mixed thundurus or nasty plot if ur not worried about focus miss, since ull have chomp for tflame u wouldnt need a defensive mon like zapdos other than defog, which i will get to in a sec. thundurus can spread paras if u want, and can dent stall pretty well depending on what set u choose. it would also be an additional tflame check, slowbro check and can knock off/superpower/hp ice with a lot more power. now of course with my suggestions ud have a harder time with rocks, thats why i suggest that if u go with my changes, u could go for a bulkier (spdef maybe?) scizor with defog. Good team, grats on the peak and hope i helped ;) pls dont spread bp !
An bulky chomp would make him easier bait against Dragons such as Dnite. Though Talonflame is trouble and he's probably better off playing around a Dnite than Talonflame. With that said it will also make him weaker to Meye but a SR chomp clearly fills in more roles than his Scarfchomp and there's not much he can change to cope with Meye without foiling his balance anyway..
Thanks for the suggestions people :) I experimented a bit with the team- Thundurus makes a fabulous wallbraker, but making Chomp bulky meant I had nothing for lopunny :/ I'm actually thinking of replacing Serperior with Thundurus and keeping the rest of the team as it is.
