I have been sitting many hours, just finding clues and putting everything together, but I can finally present a complete world map of pokemon. I have put a lot of reason and time behind how I made the map. I would type on about how I came to this conclusion, but that would take a lot of unecessary time when I have already made a video on youtube explaining the subject. If you want to see how I made this map, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DljYJhtS7E This map will primarily be used for a series I'm making called "The Path of Evolution". I am going to find out where every single pokemon evolved from using natural selection and traits of each pokemon. Feel free to use this map as you please, just please give me credit for coming up with it. EDIT: Added Orre and Oblivia to the map.
Wow, Pokemon regions are not Pokemon continents... First of all including all and new cities till now, Kanto has around 40 cities till now... (All small towns and villages are excluded...) Now let us assume that they have excluded few cities (because why not ?) so it will be around 50... This means it it mixture of around 5 to 10 states ? We can also say that it a country (Its not necessary that every Country has 50 states like USA...) So assuming Kanto region as a country, there is no way it could be so huge... Now unless Pokemon planet is of a size of Neptune, there is no chance that a country has a size of continent like you have mentioned in your photo... If you want to debate that Pokemon planet is size of Neptune, here are my counterarguments: (You can ignore it and go to last paragraph too...) 1. Gravity of a planet is depended on Mass of planet... 2. Mass of a small planet will obviously be less than that of a big planet unless it made of a heavy matter like Iron... 3. Pokemon Planet has shown us soil and mountains a lot of time... They also shown us use of various machines like cars, trains, ships, helicopters etc. That would not be possible on a Planet of Iron because magnetic effects will cause these machines to stop because obviously Iron is attracted by Magnets... 4. If you wanna say that if a matter another than iron might be used than there is one more reasoning... More mass means low rate of Rotation of that planet... Also if it is so close to sun at low rotation speed, it will become Venus in few years i.e. 500 degree C in sunny part and -70 degree C in night part... So in short it is not possible to have such a huge countries... It is also shown that cities are so close that they can reach there walking (-_-) So it is not possible for a country to be size of Europe where 50 cities are there... In short regions are countries... Also countries will be in size of France (cauz France was fully made based on Kalos...) Or maybe a little bigger... So now, you need to build accordingly...
I do not agree with Black Heart. Firstly why can a country not be the same size or bigger than a continent? Russia is around 20% bigger than Antarctica. Also the ideas about the higher iron content causing technological difficulties due to increased magnetic field is wrong since the original premise was that the planet is smaller which means it would have cooled quicker (as Mars has done) so would have no liquid core and therefore no magnetic field. (However an argument that supports Black Hearts concerns about a small size of planet is the existence of volcanoes which wouldn't happen on a smaller planet late enough into its development for complex life to exist.) I think the map looks good but it could be smaller or take up less of the globe to make the walking distances more likely (especially since Ash travels the pokemon world in a short enough time to avoid aging). Edit: I just rememered how messed up the speed of evolution is so any assumptions I made about the age of the planet or speed of walking could be completely wrong.
Map debunked: Sinnoh is constantly referred to being at the north of the pokemon world, emphasized by Snowpoint City.
Pokemon is on an alternate earth (as said in the anime). The first four regions are based off of regions in Japan. Unova is based on New York City (along with parts of New Jersey and Long Island), while Kalos is based on France. All of the non-traditional handheld games (Orre included) are either not known to be cannon or to take place in the same universe (a la Mystery Dungeon) and therefore may not be able to be placed on the same world (earth) map. Considering that some of the maps literally go from near arctic to tropical in one map, it's very likely that these areas are not based on any real world location.
I still think about what would happen by gen 7, and I will quickly update the map to what I have made recently, It is rotated, so sinnoh IS north of kanto. I found that detail too How would you react if the region of gen 7 mysteriously fitted perfectly into the map? xD
nice try men, go on with that, is awesome the idea to unified the World of the Pokemons ...:cool::cool:
Most of the actual regions barely look like they actually do (especially Unova, Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh is literally upside down), and vague enough looking maps can support pretty much whatever so I wouldn't be surprised at all
Sinnoh should be far more north on any map anyway since the northern end of it is constantly covered with snow if it's not snowing/hailing out on top of that.
Kanto and Johto are not North-South... They are West-East... It was even shown in a map in anime by someone...
According to Nintendo, the Orre region was actually inspired by Arizona; Phenac was based on Phoenix. I believe there are also references to other regions in Colosseum and XD's character texts, hinting at the possibility that the region is in fact in the same world as the main handheld games' regions. That being said, considering the climates of each region: Sinnoh should be much farther north (Snowpoint is, as the name suggests, covered in snow year-round and thus cannot be in the tropics) and should be shaped with a sharper northern point; the entire Kanto-Johto continent, Oblivia and the Sevii Islands should be moved farther north as well, as the current map suggests that the Sevii Islands are close to the arctic, which would not fit its description of an archipelago of tropical islands as stated in-game (Icefall Cave is an exception); and Undella Ocean (Undella Bay, actually) is also tropical and thus should be shifted slightly north (in fact, the entire Orre-Ransei-Unova-Sinnoh area should be moved north). I'm not too familiar with Kalos and the Ranger regions though. The shape and positioning of your regions are also slightly off. Kalos should be flipped (it points to the west and has mountains to the east), Fiore should be detached from Orre as it has ocean to the south, and much of Almia is actually a peninsula and it has a couple islands to its south. Kanto and Johto are also east and west of the same landmass, not north and south, according to the ingame town map (assuming the maps were made with the compass rose depicting north as the top of the map). Hoenn and Sinnoh should be nearby the Kanto-Johto landmass based on the previously mentioned comment, though separated by some sea. Note that I'm assuming the solid white line is the equator, the dotted white lines are the tropics and the planet's axis is more or less from top to bottom of the map. I still think that the Pokemon regions are much, much smaller than continents, supported by the fact that you can literally walk, bike and ride a Pokemon across the regions. In addition, Unova has been said to be significantly distant from the first four main regions, hinting that those four regions are close to each other. This would support the fact that ocean Pokemon such as Tentacool appear in the wild (and in the ocean, no less) in all of the first four regions but not Unova (until B2W2 when those species were introduced by man to Unova). In fact, the fact that Tentacool appear in Guardian Signs (Oblivia) suggests that Oblivia is also nearby the Kanto-Johto landmass. Furthermore, the route numbers of Kanto to Sinnoh hints that those four regions are close to one another; the fact that Unova and Kalos start their routes from 1 supports this as well. Orre... well, it doesn't have route numbers to begin with. In fact, a booklet bundled with The Rise of Darkrai actually shows Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh on the same map, as part of a unified Pokemon Nation. The term "National Pokedex" shared with all main regions suggests that Unova and Kalos is also part of this nation. Due to the lack of a Pokedex, the status of Orre and the Ranger regions are unknown. Nintendo on Orre: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/nom/0311/soft/interv01.html
