Tutor Guidelines Commitment Tutors should stay committed during the round to teaching their tutee to the best of their capability. If the tutor has to suddenly leave their position during the round or take a big dip in activity, they must contact the Academy Headmaster. Otherwise, the tutor may not be considered the next time they apply for the position. Also, if the tutee is inactive, the tutor must contact the Academy Headmaster. Positivity Tutors should remain positive and willing to teach their tutee throughout the course of the round. If an argument comes up between the tutor and the tutee, contact the Academy Headmaster immediately. Documentation Tutors are expected to document any kind of session in the Academy Lounge subforum. This allows the Academy Headmaster review the activity and competence of the tutor, among other things. Teaching Your Tutee There is no guideline to follow when you are teaching your tutee. You may teach in any style or fashion you would like, as long as you do it adequately. Here are some general tips to make your tutoring session successful: Teach your tutee what they want to learn. Build a team with your tutee or review a team they built themselves. If your tutee is inexperienced with battling, teach them the basics of battling. Guide your tutee through forum discussions about the tier you are teaching. Have your tutee participate on the ladder and in #Tournaments to evaluate what they are doing well and what they need to work on. Earning the Tutor Badge Unlike previously, the tutor badge will not be given out immediately. Instead, the tutor badge will only be given out after the tutor has exemplified successful progress with their tutee (documented in Academy Lounge). This badge will be renewed each round. If the tutor shows a lack of motivation to teach upon receiving the badge, the badge will be removed. Alumnus badges will be given to tutors deemed to have done excellent work in their participation of the academy program. This may take one excellent tutoring round or 2-3 decent tutoring rounds.
