Hello guys, for those who don't know me, i am M , one of the leaders of [OG]. This is my first rmt so don't be too harsh on me! Lets see the team i used overall: Importable Spoiler http://pastebin.com/Qvn1ZLnr Well it is a pretty simple, and really effective team. It is kinda stallish, but with the right plays, it can deal with most of the teams, due to the great coverage of the biggest threats of the tier.Let's see the inside of the team. Mega Sableye (Mega Sableye) @ Sablenite Trait: Magic Bounce EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SpD Impish Nature - Fake Out - Will o wisp - Recover - Foul Play Well, Sab is one of my favorite parts of the team. It is really useful against the Deoxys/Ferrothorns that cant touch him, while he is a great wall against physical sweepers such as e-killer Arceus, or Mega Salamence etc. His ability is great , while a possible switch of it keeps opponents from dark voiding, or setting hazards. It has a low sp def tho and it can be easily 2hkoed by many pokemons on the tier, so its has to be handled carefully. Primal Groudon (Primal Groudon) @ Red Orb Trait: Drought EVs: 252 HP/252 SpDef/4 SpD Sassy Nature - Stealth Rock - Roar - Rest - Lava Plume Primal Groudon is one of the most common pokes in the tier. The one i like the most is the defensive one, while it has amazing stats and can take many hits. Its role in the team, is kinda strange. I mean, i use it in many ways; As a check for xerneas, i switch it in right after geomancy and roar. As a check for Primal Kyogre with the cancelling of water type, and generaly roar on it helps a lot by taking pokes who are setting up. On the same time, i can set rocks for the Ho oh's (which are a trouble for that team, i will explain later on) , and i can also rest which is really important cause many people do not expect it on Primal Groudon, while i combine it with Clefable's heal bell. Grounceus (Arceus Ground) @ Earth Plate Trait: Multitype EVs: 252 HP/232 SpDef/24 SpD Timid Nature - Will o Wisp - Defog - Recover - Judgement Arceus Ground, what an amazing choice. It has an really important role on my team, while it keeps rocks away from my Ho oh, it can 1hko offensive P.Groudons, it can burn big threats like e-killer, Salamece and even weaken a lot some useful mons like Yveltal. This pokemon is crushial for the team, because it can also deal with Rockceus, a great counter of Ho oh and the defensive evs investment on my groundceus helps it take some hits and recover. Yveltal (Yveltal) @ Rocky Helmet Trait: Dark Aura EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 Sp Impish Nature - Roost - Taunt - Sucker Punch - Foul Play Yveltal's role is pretty simple. As one of the most common physical walls, Yveltal helps me deal with E-killer Arceus, Mega Salamence etc. It has taunt which is useful when dealing with stall teams, while sucker punch helps against Mega Mewtwo Y especially, which is also a threat for the team. Ho oh (Ho oh) @@Leftovers Trait: Regenerator EVs: 252 HP/252 SpDef/4 Def Impish Nature - Roost - Toxic - Sacred Fire - Brave Bird Ho oh is a really helpful pokemon. It has amazing Spdef and i use it as a Geo Xern check as well. The way i choose to deal with xerneas is sacred fire it and then roost. It can take a thunder from +2 Xern easily. If Ho oh is not enough, i switch to Groudon and roar. Sacred fire and brave bird have Obvious use, while toxic can be used against stall, or on the switch. Clefable (Clefable) @@Leftovers Trait: Unaware EVs: 252 HP/252 SpDef/4 Def Calm Nature - Wish - Protect - Heal Bell - Moonblast Last but not least, Clefable is the healer of the team. Apart from healing, its ability is extremely useful in dealing with pokes which have already set up and their counter are down (ex. Xerneas, Arceus) , while it can also wish pass to another mon on my team. Threats: My team is really weak against two mons: - Primal Kyogre: This one can beat every single member on my team except Primal Groudon. It is not unbeatable but it needs really careful strategy to be taken down. - Ho oh: Not every ho oh, but the banded one. It can spam brave bird and win every mon in my team, while its ability regenerator helps it heal. - A third but not so great problem for the team is Darkrai. With the right predictions, Darkrai can be taken down without really causing big problems. Thanks a lot for reading my post, i hope you like my team. Feel free to comment with your ideas or whatever lol Feel free to use it too. - M
Bro your team sux. No not really. My only suggestion would be running your own banded Ho-oh. P.S. Crucial* not Crushial.
What Lacus mentioned. Using a nature that favours the higher base stat is worth more than investing a higher amount of EV's in that base stat and at the same tym using a nature that favours the inferior stat instead. Applying that,I'd recommend changing Ho-oh's EV spread from 252 HP/8 def/252 SDef;impish nature to 252 HP/88 Def/168 Sdef with a careful nature. This gives you a total overall stat of 416 HP/238 Def/424 Sdef compared to the 416 HP/238 Def/407 Sdef you were running earlier. Basically said, always invest your nature in the higher base stat and over-invest your EV's in the one that's inferior. Secondly, change your HP EV's from 252 to 248 maybe,as Ho-oh loses 1/2 of his health on switching into rocks and having a HP stat that's not divisible by 2 will most always guarantee an extra switch into SR.Tho you probably knew this already. That's a pretty cool team you got there mate, and your Diancie team prior to this was pretty awesome too. It's been a great experience to having seen you play through XY into what you are now and I wish you the best on your journey further.May the next gen bring even more success ^_^.
Thanks a lot Haze, i switched the evs to the way you suggested! And yeah the 252 and 248 i had it already on my team just forgot to do it here also :) Yeah done that! Overall you liked it?
Yeah its a solid team but I got a suggestion. I would recomend to use Ice Beam on your Arceus-Ground instead of Will-O-Wisp. You got like Will-O-Wisp on Mega Sableye, Lava Plume on Groudon and Sacred Fire on Ho-Oh so I don't think that you need more status. Since you are weak to Rayquaza and Mega Salamence Ice Beam can save you quite well. Offensive pressure is also a thing, but its all up to the player how he handles the situation I guess. Well yeah I like the team :]
I love the team overall especially the restdon whick I can imagine is hard to kill. Hover ever could u explain the speed lowering nature and 4 speed evs on groudon? I take the sassy as being to get your weather with a kyogre send in but why then give speed rather than special atk or def, or if you were not going for minimum speed an attack lowering nature such as calm? Also if you give arceus bold and more speed evs u can have the same speed with 2 higher defense (huge difference).
What move do you click when Kyogre Water Spout comes into Groudon? Only one I think of is X Nice team otherwise, it's a pain to beat, but it's good :]
The team needs really careful handling, so i watch out everytime for switches. Kyogre is a pain, but i can still bring it around
Well I guess I have to make so suggestions about some spread, invest speed evs for Ho-oh so it can outspeed 8 speed Yveltal, that way faster burn will help you a lot. I feel like your Arceus make you lose vs refresh megamence, talking of, nothing can take a hit from it. I guess you could try Arceus Water with Judgment,Ice Beam, Defog, Recover Can take water stab and then allow you to switch again into P.Groudon Another thing you could try is Spe Def Aegislash, as it counters Xerneas with ease and helps your team overall with kings, toxic, gyro and s.sneak
Truth be said, he doesn't really need Yveltal as it does nothing that MEye doesn't and adds to his fairy weakness. Water Arceus would indeed help and idk what to do about the yveltal spot.Maybe throw in the Aegislash there after switching arceus to a water one. That said, waterceus with Ice beam would struggle immensely against Pdon so switching Wow on his groundceus for Ice beam and testing it would be a better idea first. ..Or maybe just play a different tier that's more fun lol.Maybe its just me but Ubers got real boring this gen,no offense.
But if i make those switches you say, which mon is gonna deal with P.Don? Cause most of them carry Lava Plume too, and sab will not be enough.. SO do you see there is a new problem rising.. lol
The thing is Arc-Water doesn't make a team PDon weak unless you run a set that is walled by it- if you opt for Defog/Judgment/Toxic/Recover, that checks non-SD variants easily, while helping to patch up some gaping holes in your team. Could even go IB>Judgment, which checks MMence at the expense of Sub Ho-oh. The only weaknesses that opens up are SD/SE PDon and maybe a slight Zek weakness? When it comes to patching up those weaknesses, maybe something like Gliscor would be usable? You'd probably want IB on WaterCeus then.
The only issue I see him having is MMence, and as mentioned Ice beam on groundceus patches it up well.Add in a specially defensive aegislash instead of yveltal and make your groundceus a physically defensive one. Waterceus only consistently beats pdon when it got Earth Power as toxic is simply a waste of a moveslot with the tons of rest talk Primal Groudons out there.Besides that,it only sets up a timer and SD don can pretty much boost up and get a couple of kills before toxic takes it's toll. Mm test out my above suggestion maybe and you can always go back to your older config if in case it doesn't work. You've seen a pretty good amount of success as it is with your current team.
As you can see, the set that carl suggested was IB, Judgement, defog Recover. That sets makes the team easily beaten by Pdon.. Now your set may be better, but still i dont want to risk being won by a single sd pdon.. which is also very common!
I question whether you're even interested in feedback but w/e. ok then, maybe try Dialga>Yveltal. I'm thinking something like Tox/Roar/DMeteor/FBlast. That gives you a second water switchin, and a flying resistance, which would help against stuff like Ho-oh and MMence. If you feel like that leaves your team too EKiller weak, maybe try making Ho-oh physically defensive
To be honest I find Arceus-Electric better in this team. It clears out Ho-oh and Primal Kyogre as threats. Mega Sableye and Yveltal can take care of Primal Groudon too, so no worries.
0 SpA Groudon-Primal Lava Plume vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Mega Sableye in Harsh Sun: 163-193 (53.7 - 63.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO 0 SpA Groudon-Primal Lava Plume vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Yveltal in Harsh Sun: 186-220 (40.8 - 48.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery with 30% chance of burn, people usually dont like having sableye or yveltal switch in pdon. And with an elecceus replacing groundceus, M would fail to safely defog as the rocker would effectively be Groudon, which would prevent him from removing rocks, all the opponent needs to do is continuously spam lava plume and rocks or even precipice, to eventually just win flat out with pdon. Elecceus just doesnt fit at all, it cant defog vs groudon without being sacked, and his ho oh would be crippled with rocks, sableye elecceus and clefable would be groudon bait, 1 burn and yveltal is crippled, and finally M's pdon cant touch other pdons, so yeah...
Mega Sableye surely sucks with low HP huh...... One last thing in my mind that might work out is Latias.
Latias is probably the best Kyogre check out there atm,tho I had doubts whether it would fit a stall team like this one. Also Gastrodon is a fool proof Kyogre counter on stall teams but you already got Groundceus.I'd like to see how Latias functions on a stall team tho if it's working out good.Later when I am on on the server maybe.
