Any questions or comments about these guidelines or GP in general should be directed to me, preferably via forum PM.
Most of the following has been taken / adapted from Samphire's guidelines (found here and here), though some are new additions.

    Introductory Notes
    1) Make sure that you have read and understand the grammar standards in the following post.
    2) Using a text editor such as Notepad++ when editing is recommended as it allows you to save as you go.
    3) Post all grammar checks in spoiler tags. In one tag, post the final draft without BB code or similar so it is compatible with the wiki. Additionally, you can post a version showing the edits made, which can be done using this tool. You may also include a comments section if you so choose (required in some cases as described later). As an example of the general format:

    Final draft
    Final draft goes here

    Changes (Optional)
Changes in BB code go here if supplied

    Comments (Optional):
Any additional comments you want to put regarding your changes

    4) If you decide to go over an analysis that is already on the wiki, you can go to its wiki page (links are found in the respective threads), click "View Source" in the upper right corner, and copy the source for the analysis. Leave all wiki formatting in place (formatting samples can be found here). Note that some Pokémon have analyses for multiple tiers; make a note of which tiers you edited in the comments section of your post.

    Pokémon-related Guidelines
    1) Pokémon should be capitalized and spelled with an "é". If you don't know how to type the é, copy / paste it.
    2) The plural form of Pokémon and any species of Pokémon is the same as the respective singular form.
    3) Use "it" or "its" to refer to Pokémon without a set gender.
    4) "OHKOes" is a verb while "OHKOs" is a plural noun.
    5) Type names are capitalized.
    6) When a type name is directly followed by the word "type", separate the two words with a hyphen (Normal-type).
    7) When saying that a Pokémon has "some typing", do not use a hyphen. For example, "Latios's Dragon typing allows it to excel in OU."
    8) Do not shorten item names unless they are well known terms and the full name has been used beforehand. Examples include using Scarf, Band, and Specs to refer to Choice Scarf, Choice Band, and Choice Specs, respectively.
8a) Never use initials to refer to items. As an example, don't use "LO" over "Life Orb", regardless of how common it may be.
    9) Capitalize partial terms when used to refer to a set of official terms. Examples include "Choice" for Choice Scarf, Specs, and Band and "Orb" for Flame and Toxic Orb.
    10) Capitalize and spell out the names of the major stats (HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed).
10a) Exceptions to this are when the stat is part of a full EV spread (which can be taken from an importable) or in damage calculations (which can be copied from the calculator used).
10b) When not referring to a stat, do not capitalize the term. An example is the Special Attack stat versus "Thunderbolt is a special attack".
    11) Pseudo-stats are not capitalized (accuracy and evasion).
    12) Use "formes" and not "forms" for Pokémon with forme changes such as Rotom or Deoxys. A short list of forme abbreviations follows:
    Wormadam-G / S (Ground / Steel formes)
    Shaymin-S (Sky forme)
    Deoxys-S / A / D (Speed / Attack / Defense formes)
    Giratina-O (Origin forme)
    Rotom-C / H / W / F / S / A (Cut [Grass] / Heat [Fire] / Wash [Water] / Frost [Ice] / Spin [Flying] / Altered [Any forme that isn't part Ghost as of Generation VI])
    Meloetta-S (Steppe [Fighting] forme)
    Keldeo-R (Resolute forme)
    Kyurem-B / W (Black / White)
    Pumpkaboo-S / L / XL (Small / Large / Super)
    Gourgeist-S / L / XL (see Pumpkaboo)
    Meowstic-M / F (Male / Female)
Tornadus-T, Landorus-T, and Thundurus-T (Therian formes; do not use a suffix for Incarnate formes unless comparing them to the Therians, in which case use the suffix -I)
    Arceus-type
If a Pokémon is not listed, you can use PO's teambuilder to find the abbreviation.
    13) Use "switch-in" as a noun and "switch in" as a verb. Example: "Scizor is a common switch-in to Latias" vs "Gyarados can switch in on Mamoswine".
    14) Use a hyphen when using "early-game", "mid-game", and "late-game" to refer to the point in a battle when a Pokémon typically fights.
    15) If a move combination is commonly shortened as one word, then it is acceptable. Examples include RestTalk, BoltBeam, VoltTurn, and SubSeed.
    16) Do not capitalize or shorten status effects (paralysis, sleep, confusion, etc.).
    17) Capitalize clauses and tier names (Sleep Clause, OHKO Clause, Ubers, OU, etc.)
    18) Do not capitalize weather conditions (sun, rain, etc).
    19) Do not capitalize roles Pokémon play in a battle (sweeper, tank, special wall, etc.).
    20) Moves and abilities should be written according to the spelling, hyphenation and capitalization of the generation the analysis is written for.

    Other Guidelines
    1) Avoid personal language (I, we, my). "You" is okay but should not be overused.
    2) Subjective information should reflect widely held beliefs and consensus rather than the thoughts of any single editor.
    3) An analysis may use either American or UK English as long as it is consistent throughout. This applies to both spelling and punctuation.
    4) While analyses don't have to be excessively formal, they should not be so casual as to contain expletives or slang.
    5) Never use a pronoun in a section unless an antecedent for said pronoun has been established in the section.
    6) Avoid using the same pronoun to refer to different antecedents. As an example, do not say "It can wear it down for another Pokémon to KO."
    7) Use the serial / Oxford comma in lists of three or more items.
    8) Avoid changing actual content unless it is factually incorrect or a ban has occurred, whether by tier shift or suspect. Make note of these changes in the comments section of your grammar check post.
