i think adding the option to swap gen 6 sprites (the 3d still models) to gen 5 sprites like how it was in black and white would be really cool. speaking personally i much prefer the gen 5 looking ones as the gen 6 ones look kinda goofy for lack of a better term, even when animated (i never play animated sims anyway, battles take too long). i don't know much about coding but i think this would be a relatively easy change to implement, again i could be completely wrong but i think this would be a really cool change. i've found a workaround because i really dislike gen 6 sprites so i opened the po folder. program files>pokemon online>db>pokes>6g and this is the page i come across. http://prntscr.com/79vnxn i found that if you delete the zip entitled "sprites" and not the folder, when you start up po the sprites are reverted back to the gen 5 looking ones. http://prntscr.com/79vodq but it also has a majority of then gen 6 ones http://prntscr.com/79voil there are quite a few missing though like mega lopunny back sprite, some shinys, the new vivillions, etc and you see a blank slot when your opponent brings out those mons. also substitute is missing. if implementing some sort of interface that allows you to switch them up is too demanding, i think adding the missing sprites to this folder http://prntscr.com/79vpk6 would be perfect.
You could just overwrite the files inside the g6 sprite zip with the g5 ones so you get gen 5 sprites but don't get the blank images.
As far as a default option in the sim, it was decided that only 1 sprite set would be included per gen. That doesn't mean, however, that an optional, additional download couldn't be created, as suggested with other sprites (such as using Diamond sprites over HGSS). However, I'd personally rather work on things included by default than add-ons. You're more than welcome to search around and get a complete sprite set and share with us, then we can add it as a download.
tried that it didnt work so how can i actually add sprites to that folder? im ass with computer stuff so if you could let me know id be glad to do it. it looks like they're .png files so if i get a jpeg sprite do i have to convert it or what
Hi, SongSing made this a while ago and it still needs updating with whatever has been updated, but try this http://songsing.github.io/po.html Contains smogon sprite pack that should be what you're after. However it hasn't been updated for OR/AS I don't think, so there will be some missing. It's a start
Ideally no. JPEGs suck and look terrible, go for PNG. You shouldn't have any problems finding in PNG if it exists, I think the smogon art project was PNG standard
