Overview Dodrio is a potent threat, but one with many challenges facing it. When examining Dodrio the first thing that stands out are its offensive stats- base 100 speed coupled with the same attacking power as Snorlax is formidable. On top of that Exeggutor, the premier check to physical attackers, cowers in fear of its mighty STAB Drill Peck. Dodrio’s shortfalls are sadly numerous. It is quite frail, an issue compounded by its weaknesses to Ice and Electric. It is completely crippled by paralysis and is also fully countered by Golem and Rhydon. To top it all off, it’s overshadowed by the mighty Tauros, and as such should be used alongside it, which can make things difficult for beginning players. Sweeper Dodrio (M) @ (No Item) - Body Slam - Hyper Beam - Drill Peck - Substitute/Agility/Mimic This set aims to power through a weakened enemy team, or leave enough holes for something like Tauros to easily clean. Body Slam is the go-to STAB option, dealing consistent damage and spreading paralysis to non-Normal types. Hyper Beam is used to finish weakened enemies off, and packs a lot of power. Drill Peck is your alternate STAB attack, useful for dealing with Exeggutor, Gengar and scouting for Counter. When Dodrio enters play, players may look to sacrifice weakened Pokemon in order to preserve their walls- Substitute capitalises on this play, creating a barrier that ideally forces the opponent to stomach an extra attack before Dodrio is crippled or forced out. Agility is useful for outpacing faster Pokemon such as Tauros, as well as shrugging off speed drops from paralysis. Mimic can be used in order to potentially gain Earthquake, which is Dodrio’s best bet at damaging Rock types. However it is very unreliable and Dodrio is usually better off attacking. Checks and Counters Golem and Rhydon totally wall Dodrio, while smashing it with Rock Slide. Starmie out-speeds, paralyses and kills Dodrio with Blizzard. Lapras, Cloyster, Articuno and Zapdos all tank Dodrio’s attacks and are capable of OHKOing with super effective STAB attacks. Zapdos also has the benefit of resisting Drill Peck. Slowbro is also very bulky, and often runs Thunder Wave. Snorlax has decent bulk and has the benefit of being immune to Body Slam’s para chance. Gengar is immune to Dodrio’s normal attacks, out-speeds and 2HKOs with Thunderbolt. Lastly, Dodrio is easy to 2HKO, so many faster Pokemon such as Tauros and Jolteon are capable of revenging it, even though they don’t like switching in. Spoiler: skeleton Ok I promise to expand all my existing analyses beyond skeletons after this one For real tho, wtf is up with these forums and c/ping. For every line break these forums display two, it's a pain in the ass Dodrio Overview Fast and extremely powerful (same attack as Lax) STAB Drill Peck means Egg can’t wall it Frail, with common weaknesses Crippled by paralysis Walled by GolDon Lives in Tauros’ shadow, but is effective when run alongside it Sweeper Dodrio (M) @ (No Item) - Body Slam - Hyper Beam - Drill Peck - Substitute/Agility/Mimic Body Slam is the go-to STAB option Hyper Beam kills things Drill Peck is for Egg, Bel and Gengar, 2HKOing the grass types and 3HKOing Gar. Substitute is great for capitalising off weakened opponents or if the opponent attempts to fodder something off Agility can be used to patch up its speed or recover from a paralysis speed drop Mimic is an option for the possibility of learning Earthquake from something, which would enable it to significantly damage GolDon. It is extremely unreliable though, and Dodrio is usually better off attacking Checks and Counters GolDon wall it until the end of time (unless they are sleeping then @During Summer manages to beat them anyway =[ ) Starmie outspeeds, paralyses and kills it with Blizzard Lapras, Cloyster, Articuno and Zapdos can all tank its attacks and OHKO with super effective STAB moves. Zapdos also resists Drill Peck. Slowbro is really bulky and has Twave Snorlax is decently bulky and is immune to BSlam’s para chance Gengar is immune to Dodrio’s normal STAB, outspeeds and 2HKOs with Tbolt. It is 2HKO’d by many attacks so faster pokemon such as Tauros and Jolteon are able to revenge kill it, though neither particularly enjoys switching in
I'm probably the only person who use this mon with success n_n Buddy, set Mimic as an alternative option to Sub/Agility
Ew Mimic is a horrible move. I would put it in OO, but that would mean creating an OO section for it lol So ya implemented
Written in full, let me know what works or doesn't work. c/ping things onto the forums is such a pain in the ass, always adds extra line breaks ffs

That's the coding for the RBY analyses. Because they pander to later generations, some of the features that are prominent in earlier generations are a little glitchy, such as the (no item) and the obvious lack of EVs.
I might take up wiki coding one day, but for now it's like that. At the very least it only applies to GSC and RBY where you only need to copy the moves and in GSC's case the item.
