Hello friends. I never thought I'd do an RMT myself, but since the RMT Forums are kinda dead I decided to post one of my teams which I peaked the ladder with. I've been playing NU moderately since X/Y; but with the inception of OR/AS it got really fun and versatile, and needless to say I got hooked to it. This is a fun team I built with pretty generic mons, but it does fare well against most playstyles.

Here's a song from the amazing album 'Bones Of What You Believe' by CHVRCHES which I recommend listening to while reading this!

    [IMG] Team at a glance:

[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    [IMG] Teambuilding process:

I started building this team thinking how dangerous Drought potentially is, so used the two mons which can handle it decently with priority: Kangaskhan + Fletchling.

    [IMG] [IMG]
Next up I needed something to check Fighting types, namely Banded Sawk. In comes physically defensive Spiritomb with Will-o-Wisp,

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]
Added Assault vest Hariyama to help deal with Typhlosion/Mega Abomasnow/Mega Glalie/Houndoom, a job it does surprisingly well.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

A team with Fletchinder needs a spinner, so in comes Sandslash which also has rocks of it's own and has decent physical bulk and a welcome electric resist.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG] [IMG]

Lastly I added Heliolisk as I needed a powerful special attacker to punch holes in the opposing team, and it also acts as a fast Volt-switcher for grabbing momentum.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG] [IMG][IMG]

    [IMG] The Team:

    Kangaskhan (F) @ Silk Scarf
    Trait: Scrappy
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Fake Out
    - Double-Edge
    - Earthquake
    - Sucker Punch

Standard Kangaskhan set, not much to tell about this. Silk Scarf makes Fake Out and Double edge really powerful neutral attacks, and with Scrappy Ghost types aren't switchins either. Earthquake is obligatory for hitting Steel types super-effectively (and Rocky Helmet Garbodor which is a menace); Sucker Punch as the fourth move for picking off weakened foes and as more priority is always helpful. Adamant is the preferred nature for more power; never underestimate Kangaskhan, it does it's job better than most!

    Fletchinder (M) @ (No Item)
    Trait: Gale Wings
    EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Spd
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Will-O-Wisp
    - Roost
    - Swords Dance
    - Acrobatics

The MVP of the team; enter the BIRD! This thing is so good it's not even funny. Flying has always been an excellent STAB type, and thanks to Gale Wings it can spam a 110 BP STAB Acrobatics with no drawbacks, coming from a respectable Attack stat which can be further boosted by Swords Dance! Will-o-Wisp cripples the Rock/Steel swicthins which it has trouble dealing with, like Steelix/Rhydon. This thing is a menace to offensive teams and especially Sun teams, as most of the Drought abusers are weak to Acrobatics. Overall Fletchinder is the best late-game sweeper and revenge killer NU has had in a while, and often ploughs through opposing teams after just one SD boost. Don't believe me? ask @ZoroDark :]

    Hariyama (F) @ Assault Vest
    Trait: Thick Fat
    EVs: 252 Atk / 156 Def / 80 SDef / 20 Spd
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Knock Off
    - Close Combat
    - Heavy Slam
    - Bullet Punch

Assault Vest Hariyama is a very important member of this team. With thick fat it does an excellent job of checking standard Mega Abomasnow, while also checking Typhlosion and Mega Glalie to an extent. I played around with the EVs for a while till I settled on this one as suggested by my fellow NUTL @da raikage . 156 defense evs helps it to deal with Mega Glalie better, 20 Speed evs to outspeed standard Base 50 speed mons like Eelektross and opposing Hariyama and hit them hard before they can strike, rest are stacked in Special Defense to make it more bulky. Moves are pretty self-explanatory; Close Combat is the staple STAB move, Knock off for utility and hitting Ghost types and Bullet punch for priority. I chose Heavy Slam as the last attack to deal good amount of damage on Mega Audino, potentially coming close to 2hkoing it after SR damage. If played right, Hariyama could easily be the mon that wins you the game.

    Spiritomb (F) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Pressure
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
    Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
    - Foul Play
    - Will-O-Wisp
    - Rest
    - Sleep Talk
All NU teams need something to deal with powerful Fighting types in the tier, especially Banded Sawk. That's the job of Spiritomb; it also threatens all sorts of physical attackers and scares them away with a potential Will-O-Wisp burn. STAB Foul Play deals decent damage to most of them, and the EV's are standard for Spiritomb, with Max HP and Defense investment.

    Sandslash (M) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Sand Veil
    EVs: 252 HP / 236 Def / 16 Spd
    Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
    - Earthquake
    - Knock Off
    - Stealth Rock
    - Rapid Spin

With Fletch in the team I needed a reliable spinner, that's where Sandslash comes in. Good typing, decent physical bulk, powerful STAB Earthquake and with the ability to set up Stealth Rock of it's own, Sandslash fits the job perfectly. Knock off is also handy to deal with Ghost-types who switch in predicting a Rapid spin. EV's and Nature are standard for the defensive set, and 16 speed EVs are to outrun defensive Lanturn and KO it.

    Heliolisk (M) @ Life Orb
    Trait: Dry Skin
    EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Volt Switch
    - Thunderbolt
    - Surf
    - Hyper Voice

Heliolisk is the much-needed special attacker which I wanted, with excellent 109 speed and special attack stats, amazing movepool and a powerful Volt Switch for grabbing momentum. Thunderbolt and Hyper Voice are it's most powerful STAB attacks, and coming from a 109 SpA backed by Life Orb it easily 2hkoes majority of the tier. Surf is the preferred 4th move of choice over Grass Knot as it punishes all the ground types in the tier bar Gastrodon, and hits Steelix harder. Heliolisk is one of the best mons in NU at the moment, and it is easy to fit on most teams.

    [IMG] Conclusion
Yea, that's it. I've tried a few variants of this team with mons like Gurdurr, Jellicent, Electivire and Steelix, but I think this was the one I was most successful with. There are a bunch of mons which are very troublesome to face like SD Sneasel, Pangoro, CroTomb, Mega Audino, but it's impossible to check every threat in the tier with NU being so diverse as it is. Overall I think it's a very fun team to play with; try it out and give NU some more love, it deserves it :]

I got a shoutout. BEST RMT EVER 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
In all seriousness though, I've spent about 2 minutes now trying to think of a flaw in the team and a way to try and fix the threats you have, but there's really nothing that you can change to make it better than it already is. So yeah good job on the team >xU (am stealing)

gr8 5 mon team Sandslash is garbage. 3/10
    Shit title XXX_420_MemeSquad_420_XXX was better

Really tho this is a nice looking team with two of my favourite offensive mon (Fletch and Kanga) on it. I can't really think of any immediate improvements to make.
RestTomb kind of feels out of place to me and I'd probably end up using Psytomb to deal with fighting-types. But I guess Rest Tomb has some advantages in living a lot longer.

Thanks for the kind words bae :^]

it's a decent team but the problem that i have w/ this team is hariyama is way too overloaded on this team as it absolutely needs to be at as much health as possible to keep stuff like typhlosion/m abomasnow/m glalie/sneasel etc in check and it's really easy to wear down mainly due to the lack of leftovers recovery.

i feel that kangaskhan is the mon that feels out of place because i feel that the team was built with a defensive mindset surrounded by a solid defensive core (hari+spiri+fletch) + utility mon (sandslash) + speed (heliolisk+fletch). kanga simply doens't fit on the team as easily because it provides little to the defensive synergy of the team and may simply be more of a liability because it lets in more stuff which the defensive core has to handle (such as virizion and it's kinda tough thinking whether it will se the fletch switch-in or kill the kanga or sd and beat spiri).

hence, i think scarf mesprit would be a better option for the team. scarf mesprit is capable of giving the team a fairly decent revenge-killer and also exploiting skuntank's willingness to switch into mesprit to throw a sludge bomb at another mon and praying for a poison and you can simply u-turn on the switch to give sandslash a chance to spin to support fletch or also get up sr. scarf mesprit also has access to healing wish which would be really cool to bring hari up back to full health so that it has a second chance to keep above-mentioned threats at bay. finally, a reliable scarfer is always much appreciated on any team, regardless of its build and it gives you a possibly more potent weapon against offense.

i feel that cm+dark pulse would be better over wisp+foul play on spiri just so you match up better vs malamar while also giving you a solid win-condition vs less offensive-based teams.

    mesprit set:

    Mesprit @ Choice Scarf
    Trait: Levitate
    EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - U-turn
    - Healing Wish
    - Psychic
    - Dazzling Gleam

i put dazzling gleam on mesprit on this set because your team is also kinda weak to darks such as pangoro which hari can't handle effectively so this will hopefully patch up the weakness to an extent by luring them in. the change kinda makes you weaker to sun i guess but the second life given to hari does mitigate that too and sun is getting suspected anyways.

    hope i helped, nice team

    Thx for the rate Draco.

I have tried Scarf Mesprit on a variant of this team; the set I used was Adamant with max Attack and U-turn/Knock Off/Zen Headbutt/Healing Wish. The special Mesprit set that you suggested seems interesting and helps deal better with Pangoro and Gurdurr as well, so I will give it a try. As for replacing Kanga, the team just doesn't feel the same without it :^[

I think Spiritomb deals with Malamar fine as it is, as the only thing it can do is Knock Off which deals close to 0 damage after the first turn, and it's always losing a 1v1 stallwar cuz Pressure.

no shout out hello..didnt even shout out the lounge 0/10 ass

dont see any major weaknesses but as dn pointed out you need to keep hariyama pretty healthy cuz stuff like glalie kinda shit on everything once hariyama is gone, i dnno if keepin it healthy is that easy either cuz its a pivot for stuff like typhlosion so its gnna be takin damage throughout. u could try avalugg as a spinner over sandslash cuz it takes the weight of physical mega abom/glalie/sneasel off of hariyama. it beats a lot of common hazard mons and has reliable recovery, then again youre losing out on rocks and since bird gets to ur team rocks are prolly pretty important esp since u have a spinblocker. then again avalugg+tomb is a decent core and u have lizard and tomb to check bird so its up to you if u wanna keep ur gay rocks.

    252 Atk Virizion Close Combat vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Avalugg: 140-168 (35.6 - 42.7%) -- 91.7% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
    8 Atk Avalugg Avalanche vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Virizion: 390-462 (120.3 - 142.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
    nice desk

u finally made a good team that isnt completely full of aids and peaked with it, grats fren :=

    sorry fren :[ rectified it.

And thanks for the rate as well. Although I'm not really sure how Avalugg would fare in the current meta considering I have no experience with it.
Regarding Mega Glalie; it's absurdly powerful and hard to nullify totally, so I have to play around it. Having SR and priority on 3 of my mons does help, and considering Glalie can't switch in recklessly, I didn't have too much trouble dealing with it. But yea it's a massive threat to any team because of it's power and coverage.

I've tried this team out and it's just perfect.
    EDIT:
You guys know I suck at battling but yesterday I got a 0-2 match against Haze with this team. (Ok, I did lose but losing 2-0 is impressive when you're using standards of me (sucky) and the standards of Haze (#HaxUberGAWD)

Excellent team, for someone who's never touched the tier except for in a recent tour, this team helped me win pretty much all my games, unfortunate that a timely Gunk Shot miss lost me r3... it just has a way around everything including past suspects which is a testament to how good it is.
