Oh look, Hackmons exists, and is therefore allowed in the teambuilder. Oh what magical things we can do with this...

Balanced Hackmons has long been a tier of Ubers, Shedinjas, and Chanseys slapping each other around. The OU meta sucks atm (no offense Finch). So I got to thinking. What would happen if we could use OUs, and hack PART of the Pokemon?

Welcome to Break a Pokemon: OU edition. In this tour, we shake up the OU metagame by allowing Pokemon to use a tool not usually in their kit. It SHOULD

    RULES:
    1. Battles will be played in the Balanced Hackmons tier so the rest of the rules can apply.

    2. The Pokemon used MUST be allowed in the ORAS OU tier.

    3. Each Pokemon can have 1 hacked change. These include the following:
    • Using 1 move not normally learned by the Pokemon
    • Using an ability that the Pokemon cannot have naturally.
    • Starting in their Mega forme, allowing you to hold an item while Mega Evolved
    4. If a Pokemon begins in it's Mega Evolved form, it counts as your 1 Mega. No other Pokemon can be in their Mega Evolved form.

    5. The change CANNOT be one of the following:
    • Gaining the ability Imposter
    • Gaining the ability Aerilate
    • Gaining the ability Refrigerate
    • Gaining the ability Pixilate
    • Gaining an unreleased attack
    • Giving Sturdy to a Pokemon with less than 25 HP (Shedinja, lv1 Pokemon, ect.)
    • Anything that Balanced Hackmons already bans
NOTE: If the Pokemon naturally has any of the banned abilities, it can still use them. Imposter Ditto is legal, just not Imposter Chansey.

    6. The hacked change cannot be identical to any other hacked change on your team. To clarify, I can change 2 different Pokemon's abilities, as long as they do not change to the same ability. Applies to moves as well. Also worth noting that you can have a Pokemon with a hacked ability and a Pokemon with the same ability, as long as it obtains it through normal gameplay.

    7. Importables of each team must be sent to the host via PM each round

    8. The most commonly used Hack in each round will be banned. If everyone changes someone to Contrary in R1, No one can add Contrary the rest of the tournament.

    9. Tournament will be held in a Bo3 format, because I still think Bo1s are no fun (Subject to change)

    10. Standard OU clauses apply. Thats Sleep, Species, Self-KO, Inverted, and Wifi.

The question is: Do I give Serperior access to Draco Meteor, or give Victini Contrary? Do I give Whimsicott Spore or give Breloom Prankster? All sorts of wonderful things we can say might happen. LET THE FUN BEGIN!

Name includes OU edition to suggest that this can be done in other tiers if it works. Looking at you, Little Cup :P

NOTE: Due to my schedule, I am going to be completely MIA for 3 weeks in late July thru early August (I forget the exact dates). Basically saying depending on the timing of the tour, I may request to bump it ahead or back in the queue. I still lack any idea of how any place doesn't have cellular service in this age. Except with Sprint, who doesn't get service in populated areas.

I would suggest the removal of Rule 3, since the other rules seem to provide enough balance and it gives the player some freedom to teambuild while depriving him of the most broken tools.
In any way, Approve 3/3. You'll be notified with a permission to start the signups phase.

Apparently none of us thought this before Fitzy pointed it out. But I think it's best to ban random Moody.
