He easily outspeeds most pokemon that can be found in Monotype. I went with the Hone Claws/Rock Slide set because it gives Aerodactyl sweep potential. Aerial Ace is for Grass types. Earthquake can helps to deal with Rock and Steel. I went with Focus Sash to make it possible to get the Hone Claws boost. Aggron @ Aggronite Sturdy Impish 252 HP/ 4 Atk/ 252 Def Counter Earthquake Heavy Slam Roar Aggron plays the role of a wall. He will wall any physical attacks and send them back twofold with Counter. Increased HP and Defense help to achieve that goal. Earthquake is there to deal with pesky Fire types. Heavy Slam deals with Fairies and can deal decent damage to most other pokemon also. Roar helps to prevent my opponent from setting up on me. With Mega-Aggron being pure Steel, he helps to relieve some stress from Grass and Water types. Terrakion @ Choice Scarf Justified Adamant 252 Atk/ 252 Spd Close Combat Earthquake Iron Head Poison Jab Terrakion provides most of the sweeping/ revenge killing in the team. I went with Choice Scarf to make sure he attacks first. Close Combat is the go to move when he is out. It gets STAB bonus so it hits hard and can kill a good number of pokemon. Earthquake deals with most pokemon that Close Combat cant kill. Iron Head is for Fairies. Poison Jab is for Grass types. Rhyperior @ Weakness Policy Solid Rock Adamant 4 HP/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spd Earthquake Rock Polish Rock Slide Ice Punch Rhyperior is the surprise of the team. Nine times out of ten Rock Polish is turn one against something that has a super effective move against me. Ice Punch is there to get rid of Dragons and Grass type. Cradily @ Leftovers Storm Drain Calm 252 HP/ 4 Sp Atk/ 252 Sp Def Ancient Power Giga Drain Recover Toxic Cradily is my answer to Water types. Storm Drain will surprise some people and give me a Special Attack boost. Ancient Power can deal with Flying types and gives potential to raise all of my stats. Recover and Toxic help me to stall a bit. Giga Drain also helps to recover my health. Tyranitar @ Focus Sash Sand Stream Adamant 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def Crunch Stealth Rock Dragon Dance Stone Edge Tyranitar is used to set rocks and potentially sweep afterwards using Dragon Dance. Crunch and Stone Edge are powerful STAB moves that that can kill a lot of pokemon after a Dragon Dance. All right, there is the rare and elusive Rock Mono that nobody ever sees. The biggest threat to the team is Grass. I hope that you guys can help me to improve this team. I am open to suggestions. With the suggestions made by ET and Gengar, I have added Aerial Ace over Iron Head onto Aerodactyl, added Roar over Smack Down on Aggron, removed Golem for Rhyperior, added Recover and Toxic to Cradily in addition to giving Leftovers instead of Focus Sash, and finally removed Shuckle for Tyranitar. Cool team I have some nitpicks to say about a bunch of those mons but i'll try not to change the nature of the team First of all aero: i recommend u change rock slide to stone edge since after hone claws stone edge shouldnt miss (or have very small chance i cant remember off the top of my head), and give it aerial ace over iron head, as edgequake + aerial ace should be able to deal with everything u might worry about in general, iron head is just weaker than both stabs. moving on to aggron: the idea of counter is nice and all, but aggron gets a move that u seem to not know about, which is metal burst. it's basically counter+ mirror coat in 1 move, so no matter if people hit it with physical OR special hits, u will "counter" back the damage. on another hand, i feel that roar/dragontail/twave can be more beneficial than smack down since heavy slam already does huge chunks of damage to flying types, that way aggron can be a way to deal with set up mons. terrakion seems fine in general, same for golem which is standard-ish NU Now my problem is with cradily. It doesnt seem to be able to achieve much. You want the utility of water immunity, which is great. but then stockpile becomes useless because Apower and gigadrain wont do crap to ur opponent, and you're not exactly toxic stalling them or infestation-toxic stalling, so there's no point in boosting with stockpile (more so since you're not using cradily's 2nd ability which is suction cups that doesnt allow the opponent to whirl/roar out ur boosts. ) So i recommend leftovers since sash is literally useless, cradily will almost always survive 1 hit. and go with apower gigadrain recover and maybe toxic for more utility. And finally, shuckle. now i "only" have 2 suggestions for it. 1- give it mental herb so it can set up hazards without being worried of taunt, 2- give it knock off instead of stone edge for utility (stone edge from shuckle's base attack is literally not doing shit to anything), OR give it encore so people dont completely screw you over and set up on its face and make u lose by turn 2.
Is it me or Terrakion does not have any Rock move such as Rock slide/Stone Edge? What Poison jab hits special? Tytarnitar with Full hp and full atk with Dragon Dance seems a little bit dumb. Either you remove Dragon Dance either you invest speed. You have no spinner such as Kabutops who is very good. Metal burst> Counter on Aggron Jolly Terrakion and add the evs in defense I might have more options. But overall Monorock is a bad type due to Monosteel running everywhere
