    Common Combinations in Hackmons

Since Hackmons are mostly focused on their abilities. I've decided to make a list on the common opponents you will encounter. I'll try and keep this list updated as possible.

A nice list of common Pokémon for Balanced Hackmons by Funbot28 on this thread. Shortcut here:
    Balanced Hackmons Viability Rankings

    w/ Aerilate
Mega Rayquaza with a max attack using the moves Extreme Speed and Fake Out. Item of choices Normal Gem and Life Orb. This is the strongest Extreme Speed set. However since Mega Rayquaza is Dragon and Flying, the counter part for this set is Refrigerate Kyurem-B. Mega Rayquaza Atk max, without other boosts and including items, 504. It's suggested that Boomburst and V-create moves works well with this set.

    w/ Contrary
Pokemon using powerful attacks that reduce their own status moves that actually reverses the effect with this ability to keep getting stronger instead. Becoming less common on Hackmons, but I imagine it's used on Balanced Hackmons more.

    Moves and effects:
    • Close Combat – Def and Sp.Def +1.
    • Dragon Ascent – Def and Sp.Def +1.
    • Draco Meteor – Sp.Atk +2.
    • Leaf Storm – Sp.Atk +2.
    • Superpower – Atk and Def +1.
    • V-create – Def, Sp.Def and Speed +1.

    w/ Imposter
Since all the stats copy all except Hp. This makes Blissey the ultimate imposter tank.

    w/ Magic Guard
Archeops, with Jolly nature, with the moves Brave Bird, Head Smash and Wood Hammer since Magic Guard prevents the recoil damage. Giving it a Toxic Orb will protect from spore spammers and burns also. Also last move Shell Smash or Shift Gear. This set is mostly a Balanced Hackmons set since I've not seen it used in Hackmons tier.

    w/ Mold Breaker
Mega Gengar with a Special type moves of your choice. TraceofLife indicates that it's really good in Balanced Hackmons.

w/ No Guard Ability (n/a in Balanced Hackmons)
A Pokemon with this ability are highly likely using either: Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill or Sheer Cold. Shuckle makes it a perfect Pokemon to deploy 1 hit moves directly and successfully due to its bulk. Another Pokemon to use would be a max speed Deoxys holding a Focus Sash. I would advise just using Sheer Cold since it can hit all types unlike the others. I've seen users waste potential of other good moves they could be replaced with instead.

    w/ Prankster
A Pokemon would most likely be wielding Spore to instantly put the opponent to sleep. However this can be countered with Safety Goggles. Also watch out of Magic Bounce users.

    w/ Refrigerate
Kyurem-B with a max attack using the moves Extreme Speed and Fake Out. Item of choices Normal Gem and Life Orb. I would call this Kyurem-B version of Extreme Killer the power however far surpasses Arceus himself. Second strongest Extreme Speed attacker to Kyurem-B with the Aerilate set. Kyurem-B Atk max, without boosts and items, 482.

    w/ Simple
Doubles the stat boost effects. Pokemon with bulk like Giratina or Lugia are most likely to use this.

    Moves and effects:
    • Acupressure – Random Stat +4.
    • Cosmic Power – Def and Sp.Def +2.
    • Cotton Guard – Def +6.
    • Double Team – Evasion 2+.
    • Geomancy – Sp.Atk, Sp.Def and Speed +4 (w/ Power Hurb).
    • Quiver Dance - Sp.Atk, Sp.Def and Speed +2.
    • Shift Gear – Atk +2, Speed +4.
    • Sword Dance – Atk + 4.
    • Tail Glow – Sp.Atk +6.
    w/ Sturdy
Makes it impossible to defeat Shedinja without status moves, which can also be protected with a Lum Berry. Using the moves Recycle to re-protect and Endeavor with Toxic or Will-O-Wisp makes this Pokemon a deadly foe. Ghost version of Curse can KO it 1 one hit however.

Can be used on Deoxys as a leader.

w/ Wonder Guard (n/a in Balanced Hackmons)
A Pure Electric Type Pokemon holding an Air Balloon. Makes user invulnerable to all attacks excluding Mold Breaker ability and Special Type moves. Handy moves for this combination are: Mean Look, Perish Song, Toxic, U-turn and Wish. Be prepared for soundproof opponents blocking Perish Song.

You might want to make another post for Balanced Hackmons or at least try to edit the first post so we can have a discussion for both tiers :/ (idk if another post would be so cool, as we're still building a playerbase, and I don't even know if they will move it to Other Metagames or not).
I shall come with suggestions later, but I suck at Classic Hackmons :[

@Nightfall Alicorn I think Aerialate is also pretty viable in BH,Mega Rayquaza with Aerialate and Fake Out Espeed Vcreate is powerful.I saw that set many times on PS and i myself use it.That is a very powerful Set so i think you should add it on your list....

Defog > rapid spin, though I've seen some (mainly in the -ate mons) and they work.
Also, every -ate pokemon should be obliged to run Boomburst, and MRay's Boomburst is the strongest of the tier if I'm not wrong, so pls put that as a treat.
MRay with Aerilate and V-Create is new for me as well. For example, I use filler (mainly infestation)/Subs/Boomburst/Exspeed in my ate Ray, but in my contrary one, V-Create works.
You can also try Chatter in a Gale Wings set.

I would say use any high attack Pokemon with Huge Power (mainly Mega Mewtwo X), but considering that is banned in balanced hackmons...

Why? Chatter is so cool :[
Still, Gale Wings is usable in a lot of stall sets, mainly for bulky flying types as Lugia, Yveltal, Ho-Oh (if you dare, ofc) and MRay for pure offense, and it's worthy trying for me.

I try testing this out but I imagine it's not going to be used much with Wonder Guard users around. Mega Mewtwo X & Y, and Mega Rayquaza are most likely going to destroy with this ability. If people here help out with testing, I appreciate it.

    Edit: Fixed typo. Sorry.

You can't touch steel pokemon (cough aggron cough) with that set.
    Try Earthquake, imo.

Also, I think that every pokemon that setups in BH needs substitute, so Chansey can't revenge, but thats up to you.

I didn't know Magic Guard stopped recoil, lol.

If not using special attacks then use mega aerodactyl. Slightly lower attacks for more bulk and speed.

    Trait: Magic Guard
    EVs: 252 in everything
    Timid Nature
    Quiver Dance
    Light of Ruin
    Earth Power
    Thunder(bolt)

STAB Life Orb boosted Light of Ruin with no recoil? Ouch.

    Giratina @ Leftovers
    Trait: Unaware
    EVs: 252 in everything
    Impish Nature
    Roar / Haze
    Dragon Tail / Haze
    Recover

    Trait: Tough Claws
    EVs: 252 in everything
    Jolly Nature
    Dragon Ascent
    Dragon Claw
    V-create
    Extreme Speed

If your name isn't Heatran, you're getting 2HKOed.

    Regigigas @ Toxic Orb
    Trait: Guts
    EVs: 252 in everything
    Adamant Nature
    Fake Out
    Façade
    Earthquake / Close Combat
    Extreme Speed / Knock Off

STAB Guts boosted Façade coming off a 160 base Attack? Ouch.

    Deoxys-S @ Focus Sash
    Trait: Mold Breaker
    EVs: 252 in everything
    Timid Nature
    Spore
    Sticky Web

Recently encountered an imposter trick Pokemon.

Light Void (Mega Gengar) (F) @ Spooky Plate
    Shiny: Yes
    Trait: Prankster
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef / 252 Spd
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Boomburst
    - Judgment
    - Tail Glow
    - Substitute

Since normal moves have no effect on Ghost and Ghost Judgement only works with the Ghost plate, this allows you to surprise an Imposter Blissery. But the set may not be best yet. Real Mega Gengar can attack but Imposter Blissey can't harm its original opponent.

Would losing Boomburst for Aura Sphere be a worthwhile idea? It has far better coverage, Mega Gengar is still immune to it, it won't fucking miss (unlike Focus Miss), and it'll threaten Blissey more too.

The idea of Boomburst is to break through subs from Prankster ability. But I think the opponent I saw was using Secret Sword. Kinda up to the player to be honest. But it helps against those Double Team Pokemon I must admit.

As the Banana.. um Spoovo said, Aura Sphere is a much better option. Having Quiver Dance in place in Tail Glow seemingly works too.

I am loving this tier! So many avenues for creativity. Some more sets I thought of, designed for Balanced Hackmons.

    Mega Diancie

    This power is magic!
    Diancie-Mega @ Life Orb
    Trait: Magic Guard
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef / 252 Spd
    Naïve Nature
    Head Smash
    Light of Ruin
    Precipice Blades / V-create
    Extreme Speed

Head Smash and Light of Ruin are incredibly powerful, and with Magic Guard have no recoil. Coming off 160 attack stats, nothing that isn't a Steel type will want to switch in. They're very spammable too, since nothing is immune to them. In the 3rd slot choose between Precipice Blade's better coverage and V-create's power. Extreme Speed gets some priority.

Yes I know about Pixilate Boomburst, but that would mean having to use a much weaker Rock STAB (with 50 base HP Diancie can't afford recoil). And Rock is one of the best offensive types out there - 4 types are hit super effectively, with only 3 resisting and nothing being immune. It also frees up an -ate ability for a teammate. So I think the trade off of one insanely powerful STAB is worth it.

    Palkia

    Time for your last dance!
Palkia @ Lustrous Orb / Life Orb
    Trait: Adaptability
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef / 252 Spd
    Timid Nature
    Quiver Dance
    Steam Eruption
    Spacial Rend
    Fire Blast / Secret Sword

Simple special sweeper. Quiver Dance lets Palkia outrun everything bar Deoxys-S and Scarfmons. Steam Eruption and Spacial Rend get STAB, with Adaptability taking them to 220 and 200 power respectively. Fire Blast or Secret Sword get extra coverage. Adaptability makes Palkia insanely powerful. Other abilities that could be used include Primordial Sea to power up Steam Eruption even more (although Spacial Rend will be weaker), and Simple if you desire more Speed (a +1 Adaptability boosted attack STAB hits as hard as a +2 attack).

    Primal Groudon

    Continental Shift
    Groudon-Primal @ Lum Berry / Life Orb
    Trait: Desolate Land
    EVs: EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef / 252 Spd
    Adamant Nature
    Shift Gear
    Precipice Blades
    Fire Punch
    Diamond Storm

Rock Polish Groudon 2.0. Shift Gear lets you outrun practically everything, Precipice Blades and Fire Punch get STAB, Diamond Storm gets some extra coverage. You could use Adaptability instead, but I prefer Desolate Land as that negates your Water weakness.

    Firewall
    Groudon-Primal @ Leftovers
    Trait: Desolate Land
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef / 252 Spd
    Brave Nature / Adamant Nature
    Stealth Rock
    Earthquake
    Lava Plume / Fire Punch
    Morning Sun

Say hello to the best offensive tank in the tier. Stealth Rock helps your team by getting some chip damage. Earthquake is the main STAB. Lava Plume also gets STAB and is useful for spreading burns. Fire Punch runs off Groudon's higher attack stat. Morning Sun heals 66% of Groudon's health in Sun, which it will usually have up due to Desolate Land.

@Dr. Doom unless you want to get wrecked really badly by imposter i am suggesting something
Palkia @ Lustrous Orb / Life Orb
    Trait: Adaptability
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef / 252 Spd
    Timid Nature
    Quiver Dance
    Steam Eruption
    Spacial Rend
    Fire Blast / Secret Sword

IMO, Item to draco plate, Judgment > Spacial Rend, Fire Blast > Secret Sword

Also here's something i am using on Hackmons

    Gyarados (M) @ Gyaradosite
    Ability: Wonder Guard
    Shiny: Yes
    EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
    Adamant Nature
    - Substitute
    - Shell Smash
    - Knock Off
    - Crabhammer

a really good gyara set :D

@Dr. Doom: Considering Primal Groudon's ridiculous weight (2204.4 lbs and nearly 1000 kg), why not Heat Crash over Fire Punch? Most often it'll be around 80 power (734.8 to 1102.2 lbs) or 100 power (551.1 to 734.8 lbs). At best it's an immense 120 power (under 440.88 lbs). Only 9 formes of Pokemon are hit for 60 power: Avalugg, (Mega) Metagross, Mega Steelix, both Giratinas, Dialga and both Groudon formes. Most of those are either weak to Earthquake as well or resistant to Fire in the first place. In fact, the only notable situations where Heat Crash would matter and hit for 80 damage would be against Mega Glalie and Mega Rayquaza; Earthquake would do more damage in any other situation against a 734.8+ pokemon. On average, in any situation where you'd use Fire Punch, Heat Crash would do more damage. The only downside is that you miss the 10% chance for a burn. Sacred Fire is another alternative; more stable damage and a 50% chance of a burn, but low PP.

That's a great idea. I think I'll use Sacred Fire, as it's more consistent than Heat Crash and that sweet burn chance is always great.

    Giratina @ Leftovers
    Trait: Unaware
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef
    IVs: 0 Spd
    Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
    - Psych Up
    - Recover
    - Curse
    - Baton Pass

Note the lack of speed. This Giratina can copy the opponent's boosts, shut them down with Curse, heal back up with Recover and pass on those boosts to another team member with Baton Pass. Use your opponent's boosting sweepers against them! Minimum speed to allow the recipient to get in freely, though it does mean risking Giratina getting KO'd if you're not careful.

Well, someone already beat me to posting Poison Heal Regigigas, but this is such an effective set:

    Regigigas @ Toxic Orb
    Trait: Poison Heal
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef / 252 Spd
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Facade
    - Shift Gear
    - Recover
    - Knock Off

Great status tank, strong mid-game momentum shifter. Late game it's a brutally effective sweeper. Notice how Imposter Blissey loses to it.

    Mega Gengar @ Goggles/Lum/Focus Sash/Whatever
    Trait: Mold Breaker
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef / 252 Spd
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Stealth Rock
    - Spore
    - Shadow Ball
    - Taunt

A good lead and Shedinja counter. MMewtwoY is similar - faster and higher damage output, but has fewer useful resistances, and Psystrike doesn't hit as much.

    Shuckle @ Leftovers
    Trait: Prankster
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef / 252 Spd
    Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
    - Haze
    - Recover
    - Leech Seed
    - Taunt / Substitute

I've seen a lot of variations on this with a few other mons too like Aegis. Prankster remedies its hopeless speed stat, and Prankster Haze can save lost games. Shuckle has such stupidly low HP that it gets ~20% back from most legendary tanks with Leech Seed, Taunt prevents recovery, Haze blocks boosting, and Recover lets it stall. It's hopeless vs Magic Bounce so pair it with something good at wallbreaking (e.g., the entire tier).

Grief (Mega Gengar) (M) @ Focus Sash
    Trait: Mold Breaker
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef / 252 Spd
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Hex
    - Dark Void
    - Sludge Wave
    - Magic Coat

This is my Gengar set. The 80% accuracy on Dark Void is well worth it for the amount of extra coverage it gives you, especially when many people will be expecting Spore (possibly the best move in the game and very likely to be thrown on any fast pokemon).

With no sleep clause it's easy to get Hex to have doubled power, and the 65 is really not THAT much lower than Shadow Ball if you need to finish something off quick. There is also Sludge Wave for that. Doubled Hex can get some "barely" 3HKOs before the enemy wakes up, that Shadow Ball could never do.

Sludge Wave's main use is to kill Pixilating Fairy types which are very common. Gengar's Poison type lets him resist Fake Outs and Espeeds, as well as soak up annoying Toxic Spikes.

The Magic Coat makes him a great lead, capable of putting to sleep anything slower, and bouncing back SR or sleep from anything faster (Deo-S, Mega Mewtwo are about the only things).

The Sash aids him in being a lead/antilead, and also combining that with a sleep move means he can take out sweepers that have too many boosts. This is his main role if you don't lead with him. Aside from that he can obviously sweep any slow team with ease.

Carnage (Mega Tyranitar) (F) @ Weakness Policy
    Trait: Magic Bounce
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef / 252 Spd
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Diamond Storm
    - Shift Gear/Shell Smash
    - High Jump Kick
    - Knock Off

You could use something like Adaptability for more power, but Mega Ttar hardly needs it. Most likely the enemy will try to status him, as he is the picture perfect slow sweeper with a lot of bulk, weak to burn, sleep, and paralysis.

The Weakness Policy and huge bulk means if they DON'T choose to status you, the turn you Shift Gear is likely the turn you win. Since you are so slow you can Shell Smash too, and in a strange way it can help you to win against a pokemon with Topsy Turvy.

HJK is the coverage move of choice which baits Imposter pokemon into killing themselves on the above Gengar switch in. If they don't, just HJK them for a win. At least you've got the chance to predict.

    Mega Latias (F) @ Leftovers
    Shiny: Yes
    Trait: Fur Coat
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef / 252 Spd
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Leech Seed
    - Quiver Dance
    - Psystrike/Spacial Rend
    - Substitute

Fur Coat Latias is like Fur Coat Chansey except it kills things.

Leech Seed is for killing Shedinja, Dark Types, and pokemon which resist your STAB move, and because you have a fast, bulky Substitute to back it up. Combined with Leftovers you don't need Recover.

Quiver Dance bulks up your special side and offense, combined with the Fur Coat means you have everything covered.

Psystrike is my move of choice due to the power and accuracy, as well as beating something else with Quiver Dance or Geomancy (it hits physical side like Psyshock). Spacial Rend is a possibility for better coverage, especially against opposing Latias, but just missing that 5% accuracy. It's up to you. A Modest nature along with Spacial Rend is your best shot to defeat a Simple Mega Latias.

Substitute blocks status and Imposter, and will be very tough to break if they don't do it right away.

Pair of sets I've been using:

    Hoopa-B @ Leftovers
    Trait: Moody
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef / 252 Spd
    IVs: 0 Atk
    Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
    - Substitute
    - King's Shield/Spiky Shield
    - Hyperspace Fury
    - Stored Power

Simple idea, stall with Sub and your protect move of choice to build up moody boosts, and sweep with your STAB moves. As a bonus, due to Hyperspace Fury being hardcoded to work only on Hoopa-B, it can't be imposter revenged.

    Mega Ampharos (M) @ Draco Plate/Zap Plate/Leftovers
    Trait: Prankster
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef / 252 Spd
    IVs: 0 Atk
    Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Electric Terrain
    - Nature Power
    - Judgment/Spacial Rend
    - Heart Swap

Electric Terrain is rarely seen, but it has 3 effects that Mega Ampy loves. It changes nature power from Tri-attack to Thunderbolt, boosts electric moves by 50%, and as a bonus, it prevents sleep. As Nature power is a status move, it's effected by prankster, allowing Mega Ampy to bypass it's low speed. I like using Draco plate Judgement to screw with imposters, but Spacial Rend with Zap Plate or Lefties can also work as well. Heart Swap is mostly filler, but it allows you to stop a sweeper, and maybe turn the sweep around.

Some might suggest waterfall because it doesn't miss with its 100% accuracy and it has a 20% chance of flinch.

Beat Up works well with that Gyarados set also but only if you can get the set up early since the more Pokemon ko or status effected lower the hits. Extreme Speed packs a punch also but Imposters can backfire it, making it harder to counter.

It does. Atk boosts stack damage on Beat Up from my experience.

TBH, you're better off with Knock Off or if you prefer consistency Crunch. Beat Up's only useful if that's the first Pokémon out.

Imposter Eviolite Chansey is very great in this metagame. When it transforms, it retains its boatload of HP, plus you keep the Eviolite boost, making it a great Tank.

Your defenses turn the same as your opponent iirc. The only stat that a mon retains on transformation is Hp and you're better off with a Blissey without eviolite.

Actually that is wrong, you are indeed provided the boost that eviolite would give chansey. Basically, you not only get the enemy pokemon's stats and boosts but also the eviolite boost as of they were a not fully evolved pokemon. Blissey only has a marginally "better" scarf set.

Some things I've been trying out for Balanced Hackmons:

Hoopa-B @ Life Orb (Lefties or Blackglasses work too I guess)
    Ability: Speed Boost
    EVs: 248 Hp / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
    0 Atk IVs
    Modest Nature
    - Spiky Shield
    - Hyperspace Fury
    - Psystrike
    - Moonblast/Substitute/Taunt

Pretty self-explanatory. Only real note is that sub and taunt allow you to beat Imposter pokes, although Moonblast's coverage is usually worth it. Amazing wall breaker and potential sweeper.

    Primal Kyogre @ Choice Scarf
    Ability: No Guard
    Shiny: Yes
    EVs: 248 Hp / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
    0 Atk IVs
    Modest/Timid Nature
    - Steam Eruption
    - Zap Cannon
    - Blue Flare
    - Blizzard

Hello, all high-damage-low-accuracy moves! Here comes a beast with the capability to use all of them! The move set can be tweaked to suit your team's weaknesses, but I've found that the elemental trio+STAB tends to work out extremely well. Other potential candidates are Inferno, Thunder, Focus Blast, Hurricane, and Seed Flare, as well as any physical moves you may feel like using like Dynamicpunch or Precipice Blades.

    Thundurus-T @ Damp Rock/Life Orb
    Ability: Drizzle/Primordial Sea
    EVs: 248 Hp / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
    0 Atk IVs
    Timid Nature:
    - Hurricane
    - Thunder
    - Weather Ball/Steam Eruption
    - Quiver Dance/Substitute/Ice Beam

Pretty neat rain abuser. LO and Primordial Sea are recommended for a stand-alone poke, while Drizzle and Damp Rock are obviously for rain-loving teammates.
