We could have figured out the know role mechanic, if NotMafia was not forced to claim the first day.

Also, @Pyanda Matsuda is much better perceived as a hooker, or a neighbor. The ending to Death Note, we can all agree was bad, and the only reason Matsuda
shot Light (Matsuda didnt kill him, Ryuk did) was because he felt betrayed. On the rest of series, he was a pushover, even following Kira's position on somethings, and was distracting.

@Hopkirk think of the name-inspect as poison, you commuted but the poison killed you. :D

@Fiery Espeon yes yes this isn't completely accurate but I wanted to give Mats a gun because that was one of the most shocking moments in my opinion.
Also did I mention that I was Ryuk? With the Ryuk quotes and stuff Day 1? No? Well I was so close to modkilling Marquis anyway but they came back before I finish typing their death scene, what a waste of my wonderful writing

I had suspected the DN kill system, but there's not much change when they have an Inspect. Because we reveal Soi d1 we had no way of knowing. I considered fake-claiming L once I had him in order to test it but I realized L would just lynch me. Also it turns out they already knew who L was.

Overall the flavor was pretty good. I'm a bit confused why L is so weak though, he doesn't actually help the village at all. OSV makes most sense for Matsu, certainly not RB. He does indeed agree with Kira's motives in some ways and that's why he's the one who goes berserk and pulls a gun in that scene. Aizawa/Ide as masons makes sense, and if they hadn't died back-to-back we could have worked with that.

This is an example of why you don't open LYLO with a vote as village. Any missed village vote leads to hammer. I think we lost anyway because the remaining Kira member could nightkill+daykill Matsuda and Mogi. Lightning Rod might have prolonged it. In any case, if we had evaluated the claims there would be no way to incriminate Matsuda since no one else was claiming it. Also because Raye Penber lol.

So with L dying, the modkill, and a series of unfortunate events leading to Mogi arresting Matsuda for unsuccessfully killing Ide, we only got two chances to lynch anyone at 9 and 8. And we failed to lynch anyone. GG

Thanks for hosting @Pyanda. You were a passable Ryuk.

@Pyanda shinigami show no remorse for their victims. You were supposed to die when you decide to let Marquis live, because you made Marquis's lifespan longer. RIP Pyanda 2015

I think the urgency of the deadlines hurt town more than anything.

5 day deadlines are usually considered short. On PO activity isn't that great usually. 3 day deadlines didn't work.

@AJ: Death note is my favorite manga. Worth watching/reading.

all games should have 3 day deadlines to force people to get into the habit of taking games seriously

3 days deadlines are short, but with a game this small I didn't see a problem with them esp. considering how the last couple of games have gone

obviously 4 or 5 days would have been a little better, but hey, hindsight is 20/20

Oh. This whole game I had thought they were 5 day deadlines and the site's activity had just dropped significantly due to holidays being at the same time.

    :/ dude calm down

Personally, I don't believe 3 day deadlines are healthy for any town, no matter how good they are at scumhunting. I agree that people should be taking deadlines and activity more seriously, but anything shorter than 5 days is still going to have the same pace of activity, but not nearly as much content because of less chances for people to come into the thread and actually interact with each other.

Basically 3 days gives barely any opportunities to follow up on things thoroughly even if everyone's actually posting when they're online. 5 days and reminding people that they don't have much time to scumhunt, while not optimal, seems significantly better.

I'm thinking of running a game later with 5 day deadlines and a threat of modkills if someone doesn't post in X amt. of time. Or "Lynch All Lurkers" with no deadlines and a scum member gaining a power if they successfully manage to avoid posting for X amt. of time.

na 3 day deadlines are really good assuming people actually give a shit and post. i've played in games like this and it's probably had no effect on the game whatsoever except make it interesting

day 1 votes are mostly just luck anyways (hell most of mafia is luck, why drag it out ?? )
