    Updated guide: http://pokemon-online.eu/forums/showthread.php?14912-How-to-Make-Themes-Beginner-s-Guide

A guide written by Crystal Moogle is available here.

Some additional things: Extra infos are available in Themes/HowToDoThemes.txt:

    [secret]Well

1 -> Create a folder with the name of your theme
2 -> Create a css file if you want
3 -> Create a pictures.ini file and put the pictures in the folder too
4 -> Add fonts needed by the CSS in the Themes/YourTheme/Fonts folder

    === Detailed ===

1 -> No explanation needed. The folder you'll create will contain everything about your theme.
If something is missing, PO will always look in the Default folder for that thing, so worry not.

2 -> The default.css file manages all the "styling" of the fonts, backgrounds, ...
It's advised to copy the one in the Default folder, to your folder, and then edit it and
test your edits using Reload Stylesheet.

Note: The CSS file uses some pictures directly (like mainchat background, scrolling pokeball for EVs)
So if you want to change the main chat background, you have to create the picture in your theme
folder and then in the default.css change the location where it gets the picture.

3 -> Pictures. You can override the default pictures. For that put some pictures in your theme
folder. Then create a pictures.ini file. Look at the pictures.ini file that's in the Default folder.

Then add the pictures paths correctly. If you use the same "key" as in the default pictures.ini file,
then the path you specify will be used instead of the default pictures.ini file.

    _________

For any question go on the forums. Or look at the created themes, apart from Default.[/secret]
    For Version 2:

The designs is now ruled by .ui files, which are editable using a graphical tool, Qt Designer. You can download it by downloading Qt Creator or the Qt SDK.

If you feel courageous, you can follow the guide on how to build Pokémon Online from source. That way you can change the layout yourself of the Pokemon Online executable, by editing the .ui files directly from the Pokemon Online project.

Otherwise, you can still download the .ui files here. Open them with Qt Designer to see the name of each button/widget. That's their object name that you can access with #objectname in the .css files.

You can contact me for help about these subjects any time on the server!

    (Discussion thread here.)

Also, if you want to do complicated things in CSS look directly at Qt's StyleSheet reference.

Hey you have a Hydreigon Badge, does that mean you're part of a Pokemon Online League?? If so, May I challenge you sometime?
And I'm also having trouble changing the Theme for my Pokemon Online Simulator, I want to install Dark Dreams, Rise of Mewtwo and Pokemon BW themes into the Simulator, but I have no idea how to make that happen, even with the Instructions. Can anyone help me out?

I'm no gym leader, I just beat the gym - this is the league

Anyway you need to have an extracting program like WinRar on your computer and you download the theme - extract it into your themes folder and everything should be working
