I had originally posted this in a different thread but decided to delete those posts and just make a new thread because why not? On August 26 they announced a new arcade game called 'Pokken Tournament' is set to release in Japan in 2015. Here's a video of gameplay: Basically the game is a combination of Pokemon and a fighting game called 'Tekken". I guess this is an image of the game: Personally I hope this game isn't only about fighting type pokemon, even though it seems more or less likely. I'm guessing they didn't release this game earlier in Japan because of Mega Lucario. This kind of looks like some kind of a 3D Pokemon-Exclusive Smash Bros Street Fighter game. Could this game be released onto different consoles? Could this game be released outside of Japan?
I think this is going to include only Fighting-type pokemon, seeing as it is based on Tekken, the fact that we've only seen Fighting-type pokemon in footage and that most fighting games have a reduced number of playable characters (around 40 at maximum). Maybe some other pokemon could be included, but mostly anime protagonists probably (like Pikachu). Expecting Hitmontop to unleash the capoeira like Eddy Gordo!
Man that sucks, not that it'll be a bad game but I was really hoping we'd get a Wii-U Pokémon game. I mean come on Nintendo, Pokémon games sell like hot cakes and the Wii-U has had lacklustre sales, so come on! Put a main series Pokémon game on the Wii-U.
It says that the Arcade game is coming "first", indicating that it will come on consoles later. I'm sure it will have more than just fighting types but obviously they would be the easiest to put in. I'm excited about it, can't wait to find out more.
https://twitter.com/Harada_TEKKEN/status/504671535391465472 Katsuhiro Harada confirms there will be more than just fighting types ingame :]
http://www.pokemontcgxy.com/en-us/whats-new The site I just posted shows TCG of a fighting type pokemon themed card expansion, called "XY Furious Fists". I thought it was kind of odd that there was a pokemon fighting type themed expansion released with a pokemon fighting game announced. But what struck me the most were 2 things: the video of 4 pokemon fighting (Mega Lucario, Blaziken, Machamp, Dragonite), and a quote in the first paragraph "Brace yourselves for a grand tournament unlike any before". If you don't want to go to the link, here's the japanese commercial:
I like a lot of fighting games. Tekken is not one of them. The Tekken formula is really dull and nothing looks powerful or hype in Tekken games same as MK (and this game looks like Pokémon MK in terms of the animations and movement styles). If this game had the Blazblue or MvC/TvC engines I'd be hype as shit.
^I don't understand difference between fighting games, I just kick some ass while I'm playing, am I the only? x_x
Mind = Blown Does anyone have any pokemon they want in this game? Post them here! I personally want gallade here ASAP
This game will be on arcade and you know with Tekenn 4 they put it out on consoles 2 years later so, the Game will be out in early 2016 on american consoles... I like the idea of the game because an indie developer made Pokemon Type Wild for the mac computer and PC... Everyone has always wanted a pokemon fighter... The only thing I have wrong with it is that they're all fighting types... I hope they at least put in Raichu or Genesect! Best wishes and good luck to who all will buy the game, I personally don't have a Wii U so, tell me how good the game is when it comes out! :)
I wonder are Conkeldurr are in this game?, but if it's do that would be awesome! (i wonder how their move gonna be?) and are legendary fighting type would appear here in Pokkén?
New video shows that Pikachu, Gardevoir, and Suicune are characters. Pretty neat that it isn't going to be restricted to fighting Pokemon.
So while reading up on Pokkén Tournament I read 2 more characters that have been added to the roster. The first one up is Charizard and the second one is Weavile. Gameplay footage can be seen below Charizard Weavile
Currently, eight characters, Lucario, Machamp, Suicune, Gardevoir, Pikachu, Gengar, Weavile, and Charizard have been announced. Assist characters are also available to use: currently, Emolga, Fennekin, Snivy, Frogadier, Eevee, Lapras, Whimsicott and Jirachi and are confirmed as supports.
Some more news for Pokkén Tournament from Serebii: Pokkén Tournament officially comes out in Japanese arcades tomorrow. (>^-^)> Also, Blaziken has officially been confirmed for Pokkén Tournament but...will not be playable until some time in August for Japanese arcades. <(^-^<) Such great news for Pokkén Tournament. Hopefully we'll get to see some video's on YouTube on the introduction sequence, character selection screen, gameplay and etc.
Wow, it's been over a year since I posted here, but Pokken Tournament is coming to the Wii U. Release date is apparently Spring 2016. http://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-video-games/pokken-tournament/ http://www.polygon.com/2015/8/21/9186793/pokken-tournament-wii-u-north-america-release-date http://www.gamespot.com/articles/pokemon-fighting-game-pokken-tournament-confirmed-/1100-6429949/ http://kotaku.com/pokemon-fighting-game-pokken-tournament-is-coming-to-wi-1725593435 Here's the video:
That's very exciting to hear that Nintendo finally confirmed it's release for the Wii U. Also, the addition of Pikachu Libre to the roster makes it at 10 currently playable character's. Don't know if this is true as I haven't seen another article talking about this but apparently there is only 5 slots left to be filled for playable fighters. If anyone can confirm this I'd appreciate it.
