Think of your favorite Book that you think could make a great theme and comment it! Be smart its gotta have Mafia and Heros and Villys in it. But please share! Im curious:P
I can think of plenty! The Keys to the Kingdom series (by Garth Nix), A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones), Charlie Bone, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Harry Potter, Inkheart, Percy Jackson (Heroes of Olympus), to name a couple. The Chronicles of Narnia, too. All are fairly popular and have enough character material for a theme, if you were to look into it.
I can add: Lotr/Hobbit, The Hunger Games (I don't read books much XD ) You could expand to comics as well. Mainly because I want to name The Walking Dead.
YES Sky Sentinel i was saying Charlie Bone would make a great theme! I think that may be my number one choice! Since they were great books and as you said enough characters in it to make a theme.
Oh yeah, LOTR too, I forgot it was removed. However, I don't think one would go over well atm. It would be pretty much the same theme. I haven't read Charlie Bone in forever, man. Hunger Games is something idk how I missed, too. Edit: @Dreadpool , i'd think you wouldn't want a Walking Dead theme with your zombie theme in review ;o
I think it can do, the last one did ok it was just unloved and too full. Different styles really, mine is about Survivors vs Zombies vs Military and dealing with the infection changing people. Walking Dead would be more about keeping prs alive, as when they die (ondeathconvert) they become walkers.
This should be TC &I irrc, Anyway, HP was made, but then abandoned. LOTR was made. The Hunger Games was made. They are all abandoned. I think an original book to make a theme out of would be the Fablehaven series.
It's a discussion, not an actual theme edit: looking at my bookshelf I have Quantum Prophecy which imo is a really dumb superhero book, Geronimo Stilton which I haven't read in centuries... Also, Divergent.
Captain Underpants was a big read for me back in the day. You could also have the James Bond novels or the stormbreaker series.
A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE Windy tried to make a theme but gave up on it. I have the code but I gave up too, so meh. If someone makes a theme based on the series I'd paypal them all the money I have (I'm broke atm ) Edit: Wheel Of Time is pretty neat too , but ASOIAF is just better
Very slightly serious question: What are "books"? Aint nobody got time for those with all the video games out there.
Captain Underpants would be a fun goofy theme. A Batman theme? Would be pretty cool. Though not many heros to pick from.
You could do it in a way similar to Dog, where the actual "good" side is the minority. If not I'm sure if you look deep enough you can find a fair few.
having done a DC theme with mostly batman stuff i'm sure you could find more than enough batman material
Apart the J.R.R. Tolkien's novels, your propose are all relatively modern books, no one has tried to propose some Classic Book? There are some that on my opinion could be easily adapted as a mafia theme like: William Golding's"The Lord of the Flies", George Orwell's "Animal Farm", Dante Aligheri's "Divine Comedy", Homer's "Iliad" and "Odyssey". If you wanna add some comic book to the list too there is "Fables", "The Sandman" and "Sin City". Maybe some of them are hated by people who studied this books at school but it would be a pity not to mention them on my opinion. P.S. Actually Batman is one of the superhero comic book characters with more supporting characters then most of the other superheroes: There is the entire Bat-family with : The 3 Robins: ("Dick Grayson", "Tim Drake" and the anti-heroic "Jason Todd"), "Batgirl", "Oracle" and even "Ace the BatHound", then there are the other good guys : "Commisioner James Gordon", "Alfred Pennyworth", "Lucius Fox", "Harvey Bullok". And if you want there are some possible gray area characters like : "Catwoman", "Harvey Dent" aka Two Face when he was a procurator and Damian Wayne.
Superman as well fits in a Batman theme, being a frequent crossover star ALSO, fables theme/wolf among us would be FREAKING AMAZING
"There is the entire Bat-family with : The 3 Robins: ("Dick Grayson", "Tim Drake" and the anti-heroic "Jason Todd"), "Batgirl", "Oracle" and even "Ace the BatHound"," It’s even worse than that. Batman, two Batwomans, six Robins (nightwing, Red hood, Red robin, Damian, TDKR one, spoiler), two Batgirls, huntress, Bat-mite, Bat hound, Bat cow, Azarel, two Batwings, huntress, Alfred, Catwoman, Bluebird, The Ranger, El Guacho, Knight, Squire, The hood, Japanese Batman, Little raven and man of bats. That’s 30.
I dunno if you want to just make it out of one book or not but you could make one giant theme out of all or most of the Grimm Fairy tales or just the famous ones and (I will list): Rapunzel Hansel & Gretel Cinderella Little Red Riding Hood Snow White Rumpelstiltskin The Frog Prince The Fishermen and His Wife etc. There would most likely be at most 3-4 sides in this though, but we could pull together different fairy tales and not just the brother grimm's. This is only if you are okay with using a lot of different short books.
If we are going for classic stuff, a lot of shakespeares works could be made into themes. Waiting for godot could make a nice theme for non-peak
It would be awesome if we did Julius Caesar, Romeo and Juliet, and other popular plays if we can get all the characters together. I think there would be enough roles to just make 1 theme out of 1 of the plays.
Collectively you could make a "Shakespeare's Works" theme with major characters from across his plays but there are some that feature enough characters/ have enough "factions" to be full on themes. Romeo + Juliet Macbeth Practically all of the historic plays (Henry IV would link to Henry V and so on)
