    Pokewars!

Link to the code is here: http://pastebin.com/dr1ujjRK

    Roles
    Fighting Types--
Toxicroak- Spy for kills. 8% chance to learn the name, 50% chance to learn there's a kill. I chose this because of Anticipation learning of opponent's moves.
Hitmonchan- Spy for protects. 5% chance to learn the name, 25% chance to learn there's a protect. I chose this because Hitmonchan is the more defensive of the trio
Lucario- Inspector. I chose this because of Lucario's Aura.
Chesnaught- Protector. I chose this because Chesnaught is a defensive pokemon that learns some defensive moves, like Spiky Shield
Mienshao- Killer. I chose this because Mienshao is a good offensive Fighting type with High Jump Kick.
Breloom- Distractor. I chose this because of Spore.
Machamp- Voter. I chose this because it's multiple arms make sense for an increased vote.
Hitmontop- Another killer that ignores distractions. I chose this because Rapid Spin can get rid of hazards (distractions)
Blaziken- A killer during the day. I chose this because Blaziken is really the only Ubers Fighting type, meaning it's pretty powerful.

    Psychic Types--
Meowstic- Spy for kills. 8% chance to learn the name, 50% chance to learn there's a kill. I chose this because Meowstic learns Future Sight.
Uxie- Spy for protects. 5% chance to learn the name, 25% chance to learn there's a protect. I chose this because Uxie is the defensive one of the trio, usually running Dual Screens.
Delphox- Inspector. I did this because I wanted all the Kalos Starters, and inspects are like magic, which is what Delphox is based on.
Espeon- Protector. I chose this because of Magic Bounce.
Metagross- Killer. I chose this because Metagross is a powerful Psychic attacker
Meloetta- Distractor. I chose this because Relic Song can put pokemon to sleep, and I wanted to continue to have "sleep" be a distraction.
Unown- Voter. I chose this because there's so many, it makes sense for an increased vote.
Deoxys- Another killer that ignores distractions. I chose this because Deoxys is both fast (Speed) and powerful (Attack) so it should be able to be faster than any distractions, and still be able to kill.
Mewtwo- A killer during the day. I chose this because Mewtwo is another powerful Ubers pokemon, which keeps another theme in common.

    Dark Types--
Bisharp- Spy for kills. 8% chance to learn the name, 50% chance to learn there's a kill. I chose this because Sucker Punch can tell when an opponent is using an attack.
Sableye- Spy for protects. 5% chance to learn the name, 25% chance to learn there's a protect. I had trouble finding a pokemon for this, but I figured Sableye with Prankster would know about different supporting moves, like a protection.
Yveltal- Inspector. I chose Yveltal because he can fly around the battlefield. Another tough choice, but it works.
Umbreon- Protector. I chose this because Umbreon is a good defensive pokemon with Wish.
Weavile- Killer. I chose this because Weavile is a quick killer with attacks like Ice Shard.
Darkrai- Distractor. I chose this because Dark Void can put pokemon to sleep.
Hydreigon- Voter. I chose this because Hydreigon has multiple heads, so should get multiple votes.
Zoroark- Another killer that ignores distractions. I chose this because Illusion can block certain things, why not distractions! Also it can kill.
Greninja- A killer during the day. I chose this because Greninja is powerful and with Super Smash Bros having Greninja, its a good fighter.

Pikachu- Solo player that can kill someone with Thunder, and evade attacks with Double Team. Light ball is given to him to boost his vote to 2.

Arceus- Another solo player. Can kill twice a night with Judgement. Kills anyone that tries to distract it and has a vote of 4 because it's powerful.

    Priority
    [1] Breloom (Distract)
    [2] Meloetta (Distract)
    [3] Darkrai (Distract)
    [4] Chesnaught (Protect)
    [5] Espeon (Protect)
    [6] Umbreon (Protect)
    [7] Pikachu (Kill)
    [8] Arceus (Kill)
    [9] Hitmontop (Kill)
    [10] Deoxys (Kill)
    [11] Zoroark (Kill)
    [12] Mienshao (Kill)

    [14] Weavile (Kill)
    [15] Lucario (Inspect)
    [16] Delphox (Inspect)
    [17] Yveltal (Inspect)

Fighting > Psychic > Dark in terms of speed. If you flip it around that's super effective damage, so its like they get a chance to be better than what they are weak to in a battle.

I think the theme is a pretty easy one to learn, which is nice because it's very difficult for beginners to learn a lot of the complex themes. Without any complicated tricks, the theme is easy to follow and can be fun at the same time! I'm hoping the priority differences will offset the unequal spawn.

Thanks for your time. It might take some time for me to reply to different questions as its difficult to reply all the time on my phone, and I don't always have a chance to get to my PC.

This kinda feels like ClanWar if you ask me. Even the name sounds like ClanWar. If you aren't familiar with that, ClanWar was an old theme where each team had roles that pretty much mirrored other teams roles. There was no real mafia or village. Here's what I mean:

You have a haxor on each sides (dark psychic and fighting) and they are lined together.
    Same with distractor.
    And protector.
    And inspector.
    And day killer.

Each of these three sides have a role that mirrors the other teams, which is basically ClanWar. And ClanWar was removed from the server because of this. (I think) There really is no real mafia other than Arceus and Pikachu, which are both solo roles.

    basically this.

but You could make a village set up pretty easily.

Maybe make a normal type side as village and these types as different mafia factions but to a slightly smaller scale.

You should make sure that other sides have different roles. One side may have two nightkillers, while the other has 1 daykiller and 1 poisoner.
ClanWar was removed for being a Killfest, or free for all.

Clanwar theme was lost with some server stuff. Also, clanwars aren't specifically bad unless the majority of roles do just kill without much thought to other things. That has to be checked and stuff.

I like being a villager. :| I enjoy being carefree and throwing wrenches into the machines of people who expect to get 'important' kills. I also analyze people better if given no secondary attributes. Something which I find to be fun when playing mental games with people.

But anyway, the theme is more a Clanwar. Villagers don't work well in it since it can lead to ties. Try PM'ing people to review the theme here or on server. Myself included.

I think there is a claim that there are too many kills or something of the sort. One thought is to mediate excessive kills with votes, voteshields, X-shot kills, X-shot poisons (Since poisons just rack up kills later), and teammates (connected people allows for calculated votes).

Were you attempting to make each side mirrors of each other? Could spice it up with some different star roles. Or pairing up a couple roles. Or giving each side a way to connect somehow (and by extension, fake). People can claim insp or something atm in clanwar fashion, but there are newer options nowadays.

While people don't like being villagers, they are actually a very important role. They make up the majority of the village's vote which is very viable to a village. In Kirby, Mike Kirby relies on the village to help him rand off any revealed scum. In Zelda, when he leads a rand, he relies on the villagers to help him rand. Villagers are a very essential role in mafia.

Other clan war style themes (ClanWar, PokeScum, Castle) didn't have villagers either. Even non clan war themes don't absolutely HAVE to have villagers. Whether or not a a theme has villagers is up to the theme creator, and as long as they create a balanced theme there shouldn't be any problem with not having villagers. This theme seems pretty balanced to me. My only concern is that the Pikachu and Arceus roles might be slightly overpowered.

Also, the ClanWar theme was removed because it was hardly ever played. It had nothing to do with being a killfest (which the theme wasn't).

Hello broken wars, responding to a couple ideas would benefit the thread. Not sure if willing to change some things around or just stone-set with keeping things as they stand. Either way, if you make the comment and openly explore the options with people, won't be bad. Also since no one sees you around Mafia (as Glass Cannon), your theme may get less view.
