So I was thinking about some of the current themes and I thought, "MONSTERS." So I made this, a mix of the best. Walpurgis Night is the night of the witches. Backstory is that a bunch of witches (villagers) invoke ancient creatures, ranging from the grotesque to the silly. Unfortunately, most are too powerful to be contained. What I need are more monster ideas. I don't mind other stuff. Theme title - Walpurgis Night (Walpurgis or night) Sides This is the main village. Mostly humanoid monsters with some others who can be contained. Penny Dreadful (classic monsters from books/movies) - Grand Wizard Faust, Baba Yaga, Dracula / Nosferatu, Wolf man, witch(villy), Blob, Frankenstein's Monster, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Dr. Jekyll / Mr. Hyde, Invisible Man, Mummy, Creeper?, Igor?, Jaws?, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Skeleton OR Zombie/Necromancer?, Man of 1000 faces (Phantom of the Opera), Mole Person, Mantis Nightbreed are mostly demons, but I'm including the most volatile and aggressive guys. Could use some better ones to replace a couple guys. Nightbreed (Creatures of the Darkness) - Lamia, Demon, Gremlin, Pumpkinhead, Legend?(The demon), Cenobite, Pale Man These are the guys who are larger than life. Probably won't know each other with some sort of immunity. Daikaiju - Cloverfield, Troll, Godzilla, Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Graboid, Q the Winged Serpent Got this one pretty well, just need to think of powers. The Old Ones? / R'lyeh (Purely Lovecraftian monsters) - Shoggoth, Byakhee, Yog-Sothoth, Shub-Niggurath,Nyarlathotep(nah) And then the hunters are around the corner. They fit well to the situation. Hell Boy is even a monster himself. Monster Hunters? - Van Helsing, Hell Boy, Hansel, Gretel, Red (Hood), Ghostbuster Not sure where to put some of these guys, but also need more options. Other? Aliens, Predators, Langolier, Tall Man(Slender), Angry mollesting tree, Boogeyman, Bloody Mary, Loch Ness, Yeti atm, village and 4 mafias.
Recommendation 1: Magical Girls. Spoiler Seriously though, be prepared for people assuming this is a Madoka Magica theme based on the title. Anyway, this seems like a cool idea. I'm curious what your ideas for roles would be. You seem to have plenty of characters to sort out, but balancing might be difficult, especially if there aren't any "villager" village roles. Also, you could add a Daeva to the Nightbreed. Those are cool.
Uhhh why. I just read about them for the first time now. I've never heard about them nor seen them anywhere, why should I add them?
Lol, don't worry Roild he was simply joking because on "Puella Magi Madoka" ( which is the anime where my name Kyubey and Whereabaouts Unknown's avatar and signature came from ^^) one of the most powerful enemies is Walpurgisnacht Spoiler: Walpurgis Night image Anyway monsters are everywere so you have more then enough material to work with. Well they are all modern movie monsters (opposed to the old school Dracula, Frankenstein and Werewolf ), so they could be part of a Cinema Monsters team, with other creatures like The Thing, Freddy Krueger and the protagonist of "The Fly". Personally I don't consider Predator totally a monster because seems to have some sort of strong morale in his haunt and is a creature that has a sense of honor, so I don't know if it fit really well. You are already full of monsters but I want to see if people can come up with more monsters to see if it can come up the most creepiest mosters of ever. Mmmh thinking about monsters if I have to think of some really creepy one, I would think to some of the Celtic creatures like Banshee and Kelpies. But if I have to think for an extra team I would nominate an "Urban Legends/Creepy Pasta" Team, with roles like Slender Man, Bloody mary and the albine crocodile that lives in the sewer. However I am a little disappointed that no one talked about the "boogeyman/black man", I mean: he is the classic monster that is used to scare the childrens, doesn't exist a real description of he so every child fill this gap conceiving it in the most scariest way that their imagination could come up, practically is Like the fear itself which makes it even more creepy and scary.
Black man is super racist (I am jk). Boogeyman is good. Maybe something to signify where they came from as things like creepypasta. Not sure what the team name would be. The thing about those things is that they are more of... emotional fear. More psychological, but would still make an interesting team if summoned into this fray. Creepypasta team is lazy. Urban Legends is... capable of being better.
Mmmh if you still need a name for the colossal creatures team, you could call it Daikaiju which is the name of the movie genre about giant monsters like Godzilla. Otherwise maybe you could call them Cities' calamities, after all they are always destroying some urban area. Anyway you have my total approve for the marshmellow monster of ghostbusters .
I like Daikaiju. I don't like that The Host doesn't have a suitable name, so he's out. Also, Hydra is out. Loch Ness and Yeti... I don't know. Loch Ness is large, but is more of a myth. Yeti could fit village, but isn't a monster as much as another myth. Both are a mix of two teams. I'll add to 'other' for now.
Adding Grand Wizard Faust (Or Archwizard, or some other name idk. Accepting ideas) as head of the witches. I'll also accept a single female witch if anyone has ideas. I'll search for famous ones later otherwise.
Lol I personally have no idea about who are Grand magician Faust and Q the winged serpent are they related to the doctor Faust's story and the myth of the god Quetzalcoatl? The pale man that you talk about is the one of Pan's labyrinth? If yes, why he is sided with the giant monsters? I thought he was of human size. About your Alien, Predator and Langoliers, maybe they could be part of a Sci-fi Creatures team. About a specific female witch, the world is full of exemples: the Blair's witch, the witch of the east(wizard of Oz), Maleficent (even if actually is a fairy XD), Circe and another infinite lore of characters, but if I should vote I will choose Baba Yaga of the east europe mythology. Anyway why do you consider the poor Quasimodo a monster? :frown:
Yes to both. Faust sold his soul to gain knowledge, including magic. Q is Quetzalcoatl from the movie. Yeah, Pale Man. I guess he shouldn't be in that one. He'd be a bomb anyway (Don't touch his grapes or you ded). He's tame otherwise. Nightbreed probably. Blair Witch is also a legend. Wizard of Oz is good, but not even a wizard. Witch of the East/West lack names. Names are changed through movies. Generic "Wicked Witch" is available I guess. Nothing special. Circe is extremely available and a good choice. Baba Yaga, I believe it's common Russian lore. Grandmother of the devil or something along those lines. Hmmmmmmmmm...... Yeah, why not. @ Hunchback, who is the monster and who is the man? Disney version makes him look like a sweetheart. He looks a lot more vicious in the commonplace lore. For Nightbreed, I was thinking of adding "Lo" the demon, but pretty sure no one's seen that movie.
