Yes, Pikachu will get special contest moves when you dress it up. Pikachu Rock Star gets Meteor Mash, Pikachu PhD gets Electric Terrain, Pikachu Pop Star gets Draining Kiss, Pikachu Belle gets Icicle Crash, and Pikachu Libre gets Flying Press. Isn't that cool :]
I'm just happy that they bought contests back, and it looks like they've been turbocharged as well. This game really is stacking up to be awesome.
Nice video :] Mega Salamence design is as awesome as it will be in battle. But mega lopunny looks kinda weird..
Mega Slowbro and Audino Hype. Edit @ 09:57: Mega Audino is Normal/Fairy-type and has the ability Healer. Mega Slowbro has the ability Shell Armor. from serebii
The stat boosts for Bro better be worth it, because Shell armor is a serious downgrade over regenerator. MAudino can't hurt at all though, since it isn't as though it has that much going for it now
It took Game Freak much more time to fix the weather dominance by nerfing its turns in the next gen (present 6th) than releasing a bunch of Fairy Megas that can fight off Knock Off. They're getting better with the fuck ups.
Why couldn't they give mega slowbro regenerator too instead of a crappy ability :c Also, mega audino looks weird n_n; but the typing is better. Too bad GF had to take away regenerator and give it another useless ability.
Mega Krook/Bouff/Golurk/Escav/Galvantula/Chandelure/Zoroark/Druddigon/Bisharp all farrrrrrrrrrrrrr better options, and yah Mega Ferro would've been better tbh. Also not only are they not exciting, but they made Slowbro worse by removing Regen
tbh I think the point of Mega Evolutions should be to boost largely ignored pokemon (see: Kanga, Mawile, Pinsir, Ampharos, Altaria, Lopuuny, etc etc and now Audino). there are a few that could've done without the mega but I don't think already-popular-and-competitively-viable pokemon should be getting megas as much I'm excited for Mega Audino as a mega Knock Off-counter though
Mega Audino would have been far more viable competitively if it still had Regenerator instead of having an useless ability in Healer.
I'd like to talk about Primal Groudon. Primal Groudon looks like a beast, gets an Attack boost and is now Ground/Fire. This typing isn't as bad as it seems at first. Regular Groudon has 3 X2 weaknesses (Water, Grass, Ice), 1 immunity (Electric) and 2 X2 resistances (Poison, Rock). Primal Groudon has 1 X4 weakness (Water), 1 X2 Weakness (Ground), 5 X2 resistances (Fire, Steel, Fairy, Bug, Poison) and maintains its Electric immunity. Its newfound Fire typing also means that the Giratina which would stop it cold now can't cripple it with a burn, and the Grass Arceus which would make it cower in fear now has to worry about taking a 168 power Fire Punch to the face (in Sun). So hyped!
No one talks about Mega Ray? With Groudon and Kyogre both getting megas, Ray needs them too. 200 base attack Aerilate Espeed. Oh yeah.
Spoiler Spoiler Maybe? I mean they're just fanmade, but it gives some visual thought on what Mega (or Primal) Rayquaza could look like. http://www.crossmap.com/news/pokemo...ets-pre-order-bonuses-bigger-map-leaked-11949 Well here's a map
Some new stuff has been released http://www.serebii.net/index2.shtml First of all, on October 15th, a serial code can be given which offers a demo of OR/AS. This has you pick grovyle, combusken and marshtomp and you get their respective evolution stones. I'm not sure if this is for all countries or just for Japan though. Mega Gallade, Mega Sharpedo & Mega Camerupt have been revealed Not much information is given on Mega Gallade, however, Mega Sharpedo has the ability strong jaw and is having an increase to all of its stats. Mega Camperupt has the ability sheer force and is going to have a decrease in its speed but an increase in all of it's other stats. Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon have new abilities called 'Sea of beginnings' and 'Land of Endings' respectively. They supposed activate what is called strong rain and strong sun respectively. Most likely this could be the new version of permanent rain and sun but with stronger effects. Primal Groudon's new move is Cliff Blade.
From Serebii: -" Mega Gallade revealed" -" Mega Sharpedo & Mega Camerupt have also been confirmed. Mega Sharpedo has the ability Strong Jaw while Mega Camerupt has Sheer Force" -"Primal Kyogre has a new ability called Sea of Beginnings and Primal Groudon has a new ability called Land of Endings. They activate what is called Strong Rain and Strong Sunlight respectively. It is not known how different this is to normal. Primal Groudon's new move is called Cliff's Blade" -"Mega Camerupts Speed is decreased, but every other stat is increased while all of Sharpedo's stats get an increase" Images: Spoiler Mega Gallade (notice how Wally is next to it) Spoiler Mega Sharpedro: Spoiler Mega Camerupt: Spoiler So it ended up happening. Ever since we saw those Stones in Archie's wrist and Maxie's glasses, in one of the first trailer, the expectation for Mega Sharpedro and Mega Camerupt skyrocketed. Gallade was a bit forgotten by the community, but if you think about it, Mega Gardevoir happening meant that, sooner or later, the Mega Evo would appear, especially if we consider its pre-evos and counterpart to be Hoenn natives. Not only that, two new abilities and two new moves (Kyogre's not yet known) bring some novelty to the old Ubers. Im willing to bet that Strong Rain and Strong Sunlight are just Heavy Rain and Intense Sunlight with past gen mechanics, which means they will last until another weather, Air Lock or Cloud Nine are activated. EDIT: Some scrub above got ahead of me, but i linked the images in spoilers instead of linking to Serebii so i win.
Dissapointed with Mega Sharpedo because I had high hopes for him. Both design and ability wise. Although you can try to gather speed boosts in your base form. And yes it seems like Groudon and Kyogre get their permanent weather back.
the designs are eh, defo not bad but nothing too exciting, ill hold off on proper judgment til i see them in game. The abilities however I think they've done v well.
My reactions to the 3 megas' designs "Bahahahah that's so dumb" "Ok...? Idek what's going on here" "Hahaha that's so fucking cool!" Also hyped for the return of weather teams to Ubers, since atm perma-weather seems the most likely explanation for what the primal forms do (It even makes sense since primal formes are a reversion "to an older form" or something)
Interesting you should bring that up. I ran some damage calcs giving Groudon Water Absorb and a 180 base Attack (we know it gets buffed Attack), and get this: with max SDef it counters Scarf Kyogre, and can beat Specs Ogre one on one too. 252+ SpA Kyogre Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Groudon: 93-110 (23 - 27.2%) -- 55.8% chance to 4HKO. That's with Modest Nature - Timid can't even 4HKO. 0 Atk Groudon Earthquake vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Kyogre: 198-234 (57.8 - 68.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO 252+ SpA Choice Specs Kyogre Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Groudon: 139-164 (34.4 - 40.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO 0 Atk Groudon Earthquake vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Kyogre: 198-234 (57.8 - 68.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO It could also stop Xerneas: +2 252+ SpA Fairy Aura Xerneas Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Groudon: 177-208 (43.8 - 51.4%) -- 9% chance to 2HKO +2 252+ SpA Xerneas Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Groudon: 223-263 (55.1 - 65%) -- guaranteed 2HKO Groudon then phazes it out or cripples it with Thunder Wave, and sweep averted. I wouldn't say that. OK an immunity to Fire moves is pretty much pointless for Kyogre (outside Giratina trying to burn), but giving all of Kyogre's Water moves a little over double their usual power and getting a perfectly accurate Thunder doesn't seem like such a bad deal to me. I think people will still run the standard Kyogre sets (Choice, Specially Defensive, Thunder Wave), but maybe primal Kyogre could resurrect Kyogre's old Calm Mind sets.
It's been a while since I've seen a legendary pokemon that actually seemed legendary, gen 2 and gen 4 being the only times I thought that, but these new designs for Groudon and Kyogre are pretty awesome. lol at how Groudon is now a Kyogre counter. Depending on how the stat boosts go, I'm thinking that Ubers may go back to being a weather based metagame, that is if those abilities leave behind the effects of normal weather abilities. Reading that I'm not sure, but I think its just the harsh part that fades and not the weather itself, which might make weather viable again.
I really hoping for new primal legendary for examples : Rayquaza to show of (by the way within omega ruby and alpha sapphire what about the emerald ?)
The livestream that was announced for October 2nd has begun! Because Nico Nico is pay per view and needs a premium account (5$ payment) to watch the stream there, here's a smooth ass free link from one of the top Pokemon Youtubers, giancarloparimango11: The video started at 10am GMT+1 (Daylight Saving Time) and will last for 7 hours. The first 6 hours will be a simple playthrough of the original games but in the last hour some relevant information will be given about ORAS, including gameplay! You're welcome e_e u_u
The secondary effect isn't as cool as I wanted, but ok... all it gives Ray is just a resist (it wouldn't want to switch into Thunder anyway) and Stone Edge not bugging it as much, and less bite from Ice Beam. Unless if Delta Stream activates before and overrides Stealth Rock. That would be very excellent, but I doubt it.
Just the other day, I was reading about the Strange Souvenir and found out that the description of it actually uses the same terminology as the official Pokemon website did to describe Rayquaza ("Venerated as a protector"). Could it possibly have anything to do with Rayquaza? The region of that Backpacker who gave it to the player might not be known, but what I feel is that Game Freak might add some extra areas to explore (like the Sevii Islands in FireRed/LeafGreen) and he might be belonging from one of those possible new areas. Let's not forget that there are already some unidentified areas on the new map of the Hoenn region like the one above Lilycove City. A Game Freak employee is also reported to have said that OR/AS will have a much longer post-game gameplay and an event will occur which will "blow the minds" of the fans. What do you guys think about it? EDIT: Mega Pidgeot and Mega Beedrill have been confirmed! Mega Latios and Latias have been officially announced for the first time (about time). A new twist has been added and the player can fly in the sky on the backs of their Mega Lati@s in the overworlds to encounter Legendary Pokemon. HYPE.
As if his +10 Attack boost this gen and the addition of Fell Stinger to his arsenal didn't make Beedrill overpowered enough already, Game Freak is also giving him a Mega Evolution! Spoiler He gets Adaptability to compliment his Bug/Poison stabs, and I'm hoping he might get Megahorn from a move tutor or something ^.^ Jesus bird also gets a mega and his design also looks very cool. His ability is No Guard to give him a perfectly accurate Hurricane and Heat Wave! Spoiler Imo these are some of the better looking megas they revelead for ORAS.
I really like the designs, and Adaptability and No Guard are great abilities. With Mega Lopunny, Mega Mawile and now these 2 it does seem like a lot of forgotten Pokémon are betting buffed.
Flying around on Lati and finding sky Pokemon is vaguely reminiscent of Ranger: Guardian Signs. Granted you actually had to chase them down there instead of going to some random island or w/e, but that would be expecting too much from a main series game. Meanwhile, Mega Beedrill is looking p. good right about now with Attack and Speed boosts along with Adaptability. Not sure about Mega Pidgeot; I used Pidgeot in Y and I don't know if a Mega is worth using it again. I guess No Guard Hurricane + extra Special Attack is cool, but eh. The haircut [crestcut?] makes it look a lot more like Braviary now imo.
Now that we've got Mega-Bee, I'd guess that we should expect MButterfree? MBee and MJesus are cool, but I don't really see them cracking OU, maybe even UU. Which is alright since they get to be usable in lower tiers, which is cool I guess. I just hope we get Soul Dew again and that MLati@s isn't some kind of replacement. Because that would suck, not even a MEvo would help their Uber viability imo
http://pokebeach.com/2014/10/mega-beedrill-and-mega-pidgeot-in-corocoro So was the "dramatic world" part from one of the first trailers about the overworlds? Not that dramatic for people who have played D/P/P or B/W, but still pretty cool. But what is bugging me is that there is a possibility that only two legendaries are exclusive to one version of ORAS, like for example Dialga and Palkia for Omega Ruby and vice versa. Also willing to bet the location of the overworld portals are on the new islands for the ORAS Hoenn Map.
