I couldn't find where to post this so I chose here, if it's wrong please move it.

Anyway, in Tournaments, a frequent question that comes up is "What is this tier?". We often have to try to explain things in a rather rapid manner as the sign-ups are typically going on and they end up not joining anyway. So, as a result, I think that borrowing a command from Mafia (/details) would do the trick. Basically, by using /details tier name, you'd be able to see the following:

    • If the tier was Singles, Doubles, or Triples
    • What items are banned
    • What Pokemon are banned (if an entire tier like Ubers for OU, just say "All Ubers" with a link to the wiki page)
    • What Pokemon are classified as that tier
    • What clauses are used

good idea and also a command such that if it is typed in tournaments channel the tier should automatically change to the current tournament tier. this helps the new players , players who are in a hurry to join andvalso lazy players

There is a command like that it's called /changetier All you have to do is put the tier you want to change to after.

If you have a command that changes to the current tournament tier when it is used, then new people won't learn how to manually change their tier.
If someone wanted to change tiers, they wouldn't know and they would still need to ask. Either way, someone is asking how to change tiers, so rather than teach them late, teach them early to prevent that situation.
It's not a big deal, just a bit illogical imo.

and what Rudestyle sniped me with.

...not sure how he thread twisted into that but that's not what I'm proposing. I'm proposing a command that tells people that are new what a tier is. And I just thought of this, maybe link to the section in the RMTs that corresponds to that tier.

I don't think a tier info command is needed. Anyone who has a team for the tier generally has played it or at least read about it before joining the tour, so they don't need to know the clauses and ban list. The time it takes to make a team in a tier you've never heard of/played is going to be significantly greater than the time allocated for sign ups, even for event tours. As such I would rather just make a section on the site where we can host clear and concise tier info that we can link to in the sign ups like we already do with the wiki (which is never up-to-date), much like how Smogon organizes theirs.
