Scraggy 50 | 75 | 70 | 35 | 70 | 48 General: Pros: + A nice variety of stat boosting moves in Dragon Dance and Bulk Up. + Useful Abilities such as Moxie for sweeping. + Good typing for STAB, with access to the buffed Knock Off. + Hits a nice 18 attack with adamant nature. + Decent bulk in both physical and special defense. + Good move pool with access to Iron Head, Drain Punch, Head smash, Zen Headbutt and Poison Jab + Has 1 immunity and 3 resistances. Cons: - 4x weakness to the new fairy type and 2x weakness to the infamous fighting type. - Below par speed hitting a meek 14 or 15 with Jolly nature. - Doesn't have any sort of priority like sucker punch or mach punch which are common. Dragon Dance Scraggy (F) @ Eviolite Trait: Moxie / Shed Skin EVs: 36 HP / 236 Atk / 212 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Dragon Dance - Poison Jab / Iron Head - Drain Punch / High Jump Kick - Knock Off Details: - Dragon dance being useful to increase attack and its sub-par speed. - Hits a speed of 22 at +1, meaning it's slower than some common scarfers such as Chinchou and Murkow. - It hits 25 attack at +1. - Moxie for sweeping without having to set up another dragon dance. - Drain punch for a semi reliable source of recovery - Knock off to hurt berry juice/eviolite users. - Iron head or Poison jab to hit pesky fairy types such as spritzee. - Shed skin to recover from paralysis or burn which massively hinder it. Choice Scarf Scraggy (F) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Moxie EVs: 36 HP / 236 Atk / 212 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Drain Punch / Zen Headbutt - Poison Jab / iron head - High Jump Kick - Knock Off Details: - Hits 21 speed with 212 evs. - Adamant nature to make sure it still hits its maximum attack stat. - High Jump Kick over drain punch for extra damage that sometimes scarfers lose. - Iron head/ poison jab to make sure fairies cannot take advantage of being locked into a move. - Knock off for a strong STAB attack. - Zen Headbutt for opposing fighting types. Mainly Croagunk Other options:- Could make use of its shed skin ability with rest although it lacks sleep talk and shed skin can be unreliable at times therefore is not recommended. - Intimidate could be used on dragon dance set to reduce physical damage. - Head Smash could be used for fire + flying types although has a large recoil. - Fake out to break sash users such as Abra. - Ice Punch on either sets to hit ground and flying types harder. - Access to taunt. - Bulk up - Magnemite pairs up with scraggy well as it can deal with fairy types. - Spritzee and Murkrow work with Scraggy to deal with bulky fighting types. - Honedge which resists all of Scraggys weaknesses (fairy/flying) while being immune to fighting, and scraggy complements Honedge in being resistant to dark and ghost. - Crunch - Thunderpunch, which can deal with water types although is dealt better by its stabs, and for flying types although ice punch has better coverage - Sub + Focus Punch which can catch out some teams. - Iron tail as it hits harder than iron head although misses more often and loses out on flinch chance ( although you have a chance to get a def drop ) Checks and Counters:- Fighting types such as Timburr, Meinfoo and Meditite give it a hard time. - Spritzee as it cannot be 1 hit ko'd and replies with Moonblast. ( unless you get a flinch on iron head ) - Snubull as it has intimidate + being a fairy hits with Play Rough. - The scarf set is vulnerable ( unless you choose to run head smash ) to fire types such as Larvesta and Ponyta who burn it and recover. - Foongus can be troublesome due to it's typing and good defenses along with recovery. - Both Vullaby and Fletchling can be annoying, due to Vullabys bulk and Fletchlings priority acrobatics - Croagunk as it Resists both of its stabs. - Misdreavus and Sash Abra which run dazzling gleam are also problematic for Scraggy
hi. replace the current spread for both sets set with 36 hp / 236 atk / 212 spd, it gains a hp point for first. slash shed skin infront of moxie, healing from a burn or paralysis is really helpful. slash high jump kick alongside drain punch as the needed power may come in handy vs something like mienfoo. (knock off + hjk 2hko). add teammates that can take care of fairy types, like magnemite. also pokemon that can weaken bulky fighting like spritzee or murkrow. mention how zen headbutt is specifically for croagunk who resists both of scraggy's stabs. in checks & counters mention how basically anything with a fairy move can threaten scraggy due to its x4 weakness, pokemon like missy and sash abra. remove the specific mention of scarf when you talk about vullaby and fletchling in checks & counters, as brave bird vullaby is bulky enough to check dd sets and fletchling can threaten with priority acrobatics. i'd drop crunch to other option to be honest as its pretty much outclassed as crunch only outdamages on a no item foe. unless knock off gets the boot, crunch is oo. i'll take another look some time.
Shed skin doesn't need to be on the scarf set since it scraggy really wont have the time to wait for shed skin to activate. Otherwise this looks done~ (Approve)
Before you write the analyse up I've got something that I spotted that you should take care of: remember that having calcs in analyses is not preferred to deal with that just mention in the set descriptions what it's able to OHKO/2HKO. Also add Thunder Punch and Iron Tail in OO (say that Thunder Punch isn't that good because most Water-type Pokémon can be dealt with Scraggy's STABs and Flying-type Pokémon are dealt by Ice Punch that gets better coverage, about Iron Tail mention that it has more power than Iron Head but less accuracy), you can also mention a set with Substitute and Focus Punch, it's not very effective but it can be surprising and problematic. Also mention Honedge as a nice partner as Honedge resists Fairy, Flying and is immune to Fighting that are the types Scraggy's weak to and Scraggy resists Dark and Ghost which makes them a nice core. You also didn't mention Crunch yet like Mylo suggested.
Drain Punch + HJK on a dd set is perfectly viable, I usually even prefer it. Talk about how scraggy has amazing bulk and can afford to run defensive ev's on DD set. Something like 116 HP / 76 Atk / 36 Def / 36 SDef / 212 Spd ZHB seems really silly on scarf scraggy to lock yourself into. Again double fighting stab is a great option.
