When is a theme abandoned? If an author quits, requests to have his theme put up for adoption, or is just gone for an extended amount of a time, a theme is allowed to be adopted. After 30 days, a theme will be liable to have code fixed if needed. After 60 days, a theme will be considered abandoned and allowed to be adopted. How to adopt a theme? If anyone wishes to adopt a theme that reaches the qualifications of being abandoned, a short paragraph must be sent to the sMAs and Lead QC (Beast, Fuzzysqurl, Roild). The paragraph must include the problems or mistakes in a theme and what the adopting party wishes to do to fix it. If a full change to the theme is to be made, then it will be required to be sent to review. If more than one party wishes to adopt a theme, the aforementioned people will talk about who it will go to. Once the best plan is chosen, that party will get the theme. If there are no positive plans for the theme, no one will get the theme. Note: If a theme doesn't actually need changes and a person just tries to adopt in order to be authored, they will not receive the theme. What happens if an author returns after leaving? It is recommended that both the current author and previous author work together for the sake of the theme, but if there is a conflict, the theme will still belong to the current author since the previous author had his theme abandoned. What if a theme doesn't need to be adopted? If a theme has been abandoned, but isn't in the position to be changed, then no one will be accepted to adopt it. If a theme requires core mechanics changes to rebalance the theme, then it may become more of a group effort than a single party adopting it. Who gets final ownership of a theme? After a theme has been adopted and there are no other suitors, then the new author will be allowed to apply the plan they previously sent to the aforementioned people. TL;DR - Make us understand what you will do if you request a theme.
