Ok so I know some people have already made suggestions for Mario themes, but I wanted to suggest an idea myself. I applied some stuff from recent Mario games into this theme as well. Mushroom Kingdom Mario - Daykiller with 20% chance of revealing. Avoids daykills (especially from Bowser, Mario beats him all the time xD) Luigi - No commands but does have -1 vote, knows who Mario is Donkey Kong - Bodyguard, can protect 2 people per night Yoshi - Can kill one person per night Toad - Villager Princess Peach - PL, can distract one person per night, knows who Daisy is Birdo - Spy, gets hax, 25% team, 10% player Daisy - Can stalk one person per night, knows who Peach is, gets +2 vote Rosalina - Can inspect one person per night, cannot be nightkilled OR daykilled as long as Luma is alive Luma - Reveals as Toad when inspected, if Luma dies then Rosalina can be killed Sprixie - Can use magic to poison once per night, victims die in 2 nights Wiggler - No commands; if Wiggler gets lynched, then Wiggler becomes Enraged Wiggler and gets one nightkill before dying. Bowser's Army Bowser - Daykiller that doesn't reveal, cannot daykill Mario; can convert to Meowser after Day 2 with an added nightkill; knows who Bowser Jr. is Meowser - Same as Bowser, except gets one nightkill and can't be haxed. Bowser Jr. - Can poison one person per night, victims die next night; knows who Bowser is and can bodyguard him (Choose between poison or protect). Mystery Koopaling - Can convert into one of the Koopalings; Lemmy Koopa (-2 vote but can't be poisoned or nightkilled), Larry Koopa (+2 vote), Wendy Koopa (Can distract one person per night), Morton Koopa Jr. (Can type /hammer to strip a PR of their powers, such as PL or Insp), Iggy Koopa (Can poison once every other night), Roy Koopa (Nightkills every other night), or Ludwig Von Koopa (Can inspect one person per night). Shadow Mario - No commands, but can use his -99 vote to save teammates from getting lynched, cannot be nightkilled Outside Mafia Koopa Troopa - Can kill once per night (shared with team) Goomba - Has a vote of 0; gets one nightkill per game Bob-Omb - Revenges daykills Ghost Army King Boo - Can reveal one person during the day without revealing, nightkills every other night, votes count as 3; cannot be poisoned; if nightkilled, the killer is exposed Boo - Can distract or kill once per night; cannot be poisoned Dry Bones - Bomb, anybody who kills it dies as well Dry Bowser - Can inspect one person per night; if all members of Ghost Army die, joins Bowser's Army with same role. Kamek's Crew Kamek - Can convert any role except Mario and Bowser/Meowser into Kamek's Minion with a high chance of failing, but only once every other night; also nightkills every other night. Kamek's Minion - Can /kill, /poison, /distract, or /inspect once per game; after all are used, becomes a villager role Fawful Fawful - Can kill once per night (pierce kill, outspeeds protect), can inspect once during the standby (does not reveal and does not say who was inspected, although it reveals which ROLE he inspected). Shy Guy is the Conspirator and can win with anybody. Let me know your thoughts on this :)
First thing I thought is how I wish everyone who posted their ideas on the Theme Critique section posted their roles like you did. A simple, organized and straight-forward list explaining the roles with no unnecessary hide tags or any other distracting information. Posts like this make me want to help with opinions and stuff. About the theme: I like how you organized the sides. Mushroom Kingdom and Bowser's Army are quite obvious choice, but it's good to know you are sticking to more simple sides instead of adding 274 teams (I'm looking at you, Black Mage). About the roles: -Do you really need another PL for village? Maybe you could try something else for Daisy. -Do Bowser's Army get team-reveal? Given their numbers, they may be too strong if connected, but it wouldn't seem right to have the main bad side not connected. It's possible you will need to control their numbers better. First suggestion is to have Chain Chomp only on large games (25+). -While Luma is alive, Rosalina is immune to any kill or only nightkills? If she's immune to daykills too, she would be too strong. -I don't like Wiggler as it is. The idea of becoming Enraged when Toads die is fine, but starting the game as village-sided and then becoming a conspirator sounds weird, especially because it gets 99 votes. Having a conspirator controlling the voting phase is not a good idea. -Shy Guy is kind of meh. As it is, it could very well be scrapped, as it doesn't add anything to the theme. I mean, think about it, what would you think if you got a role whose only power is to become a villager? -Surprisingly, your theme has few nightkills. Only Yoshi, Bowser Jr and Meowser (after D2). Ghost Army don't even have any killing action. I'd suggest having the whole Bowser and Ghost Army sharing a nightkill each (possibly changing Bowser Jr.'s kill and making Meowser's kill separated). -IMO, there's no need for a reveal chance on Bowser's daykill. He's the main villain, let him have a stronger presence in the theme. -Depending on the spawn, Ghost Army is really weak. No killing action, only distract and extra votes and 2 actions (Expose and Bomb) that are not that useful for bad guys.
Having a role that can’t be killed as long as a certain role is alive is pretty OP (Luma), I’d agree with Rice. Sprixie is quite weak as it just means they can kill someone every 5 nights basically. Poison is fairly weak as is so you can speed up that process. Wiggler’s concept is alright, but Enraged is fairly weak. If they only have one nightkill it’s unlikely they can win alone. Wario and Waluigi have no motivation to stay with the village because they’re much more powerful on Bowser’s side. Not a fan of Bowser changing form and thus changing his name. Stuff like Giga Bowser could fit here, I don’t know much about Meowser and therefore much flavor here. Shadow Mario would be a good add or at least an expansion of Bowser Jr’s role. Goomba would be pointless if there was already team-reveal-with-roles. Lakitu seems even more pointless, it basically discourages Paratroopa to convert because if Koopas die then Bowser’s Army loses a member. Iggy is much weaker than Larry and I see no reason why would you choose him, and I guess Roy is much stronger than both of them. Ghosts seem pretty slow with only one nightkiller. Kamek’s convert seems pretty overpowered with no limit of how many times you can use it a game – they’re increasing their own side while decreasing and getting intelligence of the other side. Shy Guy is like Sidoh I guess, which is fine.
As I was trying to say on server, unless there are multiple Goombas or Koopa Troopas in one game, they don't really "share" with their team. They also have a very unreliable way of getting rid of people, with one poisoner and a one-shot nightkiller. Everybody on the team (or even a couple of them) should have a team-shared nightkill in my opinion, and Goomba will just get an extra one. So as it is now they're completely underwhelming. I don't like the Shy Guy role. I don't even see Shy Guy fitting as that kind of role. But why would he pick a specific team if he can win with everyone else normally? Finally, Kamek should have a failchance or a limit on how many converts he can make. Even if it's every other day, it's still a bit much (think pre-redone Nergal). As for personal requests, you could look up Fawful here and try to put him somewhere because he's a personal favorite villain of mine! But that's not important, ultimately. It looks pretty decent other than what has been mentioned.
