Completely forgot that the forums for mafia were a thing. Anyhoo, for those who don't know, RTM is Real Time Mafia found at #RTM. The game has the same concept as mafia. People get a role with a team and they have to communicate to find information. The main differences is that RTM doesn't have a bot controlling things: Code (text): Differences between server mafia and RTM: -Hosted by a human -Deadlines; night has no set deadline, day has a deadline of 10-20 minutes, depending on the game and host -Actions are sent through PM rather than commands -Voting is done through the /me command ("/me votes Hey Day", for example); you can unvote and change votes at will, once a player reaches half the number of players + 1 in votes, they will be lynched. -No Outside Contact rules are enforced (no PMing other players unless you're told you're allowed to). RTM rules: -Play to win at all times. -Keep it civil. -Do not quote Role PMs or any other private communications, with the host or otherwise. Paraphrasing is allowed. If you're not sure what this encompasses, ask the current host. -Do not talk about the game outside of it until it is over except in host-sanctioned areas/channels. -Do not make bets or promises of any sort. Fegelein, I'm looking at you. (For reference, since he'd bet his MA on games) -Do not talk after you are dead unless the host specifically says it's okay. -Breaking any of these rules may result in a warning, punishment, modkill, or ban from the room depending on the severity and repetition of said offenses. The setups can range from basic bird 7p to Pick Your Power with high variability as to what can go on during a game (http://pastebin.com/Tx7bwPw4). Anyone can host if they are capable of handling a basic game or two. After a while, can even appoint others to start games. The text medium also allows for other games to be played, such as my 'RPG world' and Dagger's 'Island', as well as any text/player/PM based things that can go on. Anyone can join to play or host. New games are welcome and players even moreso.
