It's time to D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-DUEL! Did a quick search and couldn't find a thread on it but a fair few people either got interested or have been playing Yugioh for quite some time already, so figured a thread wouldn't hurt. Boss tycoon/1playnude/ whatever he goes by now has gotten me back into It myself as well. I mean someone outside of indigo has to play it if at least 3 people there play semi regularly. Right now I'm trying to play around with Hieratic and Infernity decks. Infernity's pretty good but is mildly prone to dead hands while Hieratic has wonderful field control.
I used to play a version of a chain burn archetype called chain beat. Fun times. Also, messed about with Bujin decks last August.
Haven't played the actual game in a long while except for that one time I dueled 1pn / couple of people from a private channel on dueling network and trying to 100% WC 2010 before moving on to WC 2011. Recently, I've gotten into Yugioh BAM on kongregate [though it's also on facebook iirc], which is a weird [to say the least] offshoot of the main game. Bit trying when you don't want to spend actual money but there's enough free currency to at least do the single player decently. Back when I did play the main game, I used a really bad Warrior deck cause I pulled a E-Hero Flame Wingman from a pack and was ecstatic about it. It's still lying around my house somewhere but haven't touched it in forever. VG-wise, I've tried Lightsworns, zombies, dragons, a somewhat-better-but-still-pretty-bad E-Hero deck, what wiki calls 'traditional stall', among others, and had moderate fun with all of them [given VG AI's kind of dumb]. Would like to see speed world / world 2 / spells get thrown into IRL games though it will never happen. Also want Duel Carnival or some other recent VG that I'm unaware of localized but not seeing that happen either.
I used to play in elementary school, and forced my mother to accompany me while we roamed the entire city looking for chinese stores that sold the cards. Most of them weren't even in english, but because the numerals were readable, they were good to go! I still lost every single game, mainly because my opponents kept cheating.
FrogMonarchs are the best and will be the best. Nah, I'm joking, but I really do love Twilight and Anti meta Lockdown, those are really fun to use. Sworns and B-Wings are really cool too, I guess.
Idek know the terminology for my decks but I like to dragdrag with blue eyes spam and use the almighty wave motion cannon. I can't build a deck at all though, so I just use whatever my friends have to smash.
I used to try all sorts of decks, and because it was the cheapest to build, I had a Chaos Dragon or whatever deck irl. Infernities and Blackwings were fun, and Hieratics were great as well, but the Spellbook things were my favourite.
i havent played in forever i had a magician deck with chaos sorcerer (lol that shit was so fun to spam) as well as skilled dark magician + dark magician combo meaning i got to rape with dark magician and chaos sorcerer almost every game i never played really competitive i just played casual with my friends in elementary school and a little bit during a brief stint in high school
Spamming dragons is really awesome imo. It doesn't work as well in Yugioh unlike in Gen 4-5 OU, but even then it's still fun. Summon the Creator in defense mode using the Mausoleum of the Emperor, then get Felgrand Dragon out, sack that to get out another strong Dragon like the BEWDragon, use The Creator's effect to bring Felgrand back next turn to have something like 4400-ish attack. Start nuking :) Yep, who needs Life Points anyways? The Armed Dragons are fun to use too
This format was like 2/3 years ago when I used to play regularly at a local tour, now the shops shut so I can't anymore :[ Ghostrick is lame Fish decks are sick. Beezle, King of Dark Dragons is also lame. Hope May's banlist is a good one. Interplanetarypurplythorny dragon is still bad, that sucks. I once made a deck based on Cat's Ear Tribe. It was the shit
This brings me back to my childhood... battling yugioh cards with pokemon cards! XD I think today there all neatly placed in my closet but every now and then i look at them and think of my childhood
I've started playing recently! (and used to play aeons ago with friends back when Summoned Skull and Blue-Eyes White Dragon were the best monsters in the game up until around when Crystal Beasts came out) Mostly I just play a bit on Devpro since I don't know anyone nearby who plays at all (and don't have money to spare to buy cards for a deck anyway) and I don't want to have to play Dueling Network with randoms while not knowing correct rulings and whatever. (also been playing the video games because they're fun) That being said combination of not having time or attention span to do a full match instead of just 1 duel + certain matchups being really really stupid without side deck (hi Dark World and Mermail among others) and just not being that interested in general in playing against people I don't know means I'm not playing that much at all in general. I did manage to make this sick play while gimmicking with an Uria deck though (p.s. Uria is terrible) (you can see both hands because it's a replay)
You should have played the last year, when Dragon Rulers dominated everything ;_; Anyway I used to play Evilswarm a lot (Best antimetadeck ever) and also played it with medium success on the last YCS. Else I tested like every at least semi-viable deck and currently I am using Gadgets and a weird Chaos-Dragon Deck. Edit: Finally there will be a rule that the starting player is not allowed to draw a card anymore
Boss 1Playnude's gotten me back into this stuff as well (though Pnerd already knows that). I pretty much suck at playing though apparently they think I'm pretty alright at it. 1PN's loaned me some pretty cool decks that include Harpies, Mermails, and some other random thing that I can't remember. As for myself, I've made a pretty cool Gravekeeper's deck and Dark World as well because they were stuff that was fun to use when I still actually played. As for new stuff because of what I like I tried these constellation based cards..but they aren't that great :v
I always loved playing TCGs as a kid but I always ended up stopping because all my friends would get sick of it fairly quickly, and I was never any good anyway (doesn't help that we would invariably develop our own rules rather than follow the actual ones). But idk, might try getting into it again. I guess Dueling Network is the place to go (Idk, just ran a quick google search)? I have pretty much zero practical knowledge of yugioh at this point, I just know that I've always liked tcgs (I can see a fair few parallels with pokemon as well, in terms of their appeal to me) EDIT: Holy fuck, I have no idea what I'm doing and have no idea how to adjust what
devpro's probably a better option for those who haven't played in a while or are new. It's automated for the most part [think video game] so you don't have to worry so much about when / how to do stuff other than play cards. Fair warning, it's a decent sized file.
I'm on DevPro (Can't get me to buy real cards since some jerk decided to trash all my cards when I was younger) and experimenting with magician decks.
I play this both online and irl, not really competitively though. Mainly playing inzektors atm but i'll be making a new deck sometime, got geargia nearly finished so it'll probably be those.
