Sorry if this is the wrong place for this but I read the Forum Games guidelines and it didn't seem appropriate to post there.

I think it would be useful to have a forum mafia glossary for new players. It also may be useful to have some common forum mafia setups listed as there seems to be common templates that people play a lot. Here are some terms I have seen so far that I had to google or look up on mafia wiki or was not able to google or find on mafia wiki. I won't link to mafia wiki as I guess that would be advertising.

    Common Roles

Cop Akin to inspector in server mafia, you may only find out what team a player is on though
Jailkeeper Protects someone from being killed and stops them from using their own actions
Doctor Also protects someone from being killed but allows them to still use their night action
Roleblocker Stops someone from using their night action
X-shot Bulletproof This person is saved from death x times (could one-shot bulletproof, two shoot etc...)

    Common Terms

omgus: Stands for "Oh my god you suck", a revenge vote or accusation.
NOC: No Outside Contact- in these games, you may only talk in the game's thread (unless you have a quicktopic)
OC Outside Contact - In these games, you may contact users privately outside the thread (certain restrictions may apply)
POAMT: Pokemon Online Anonymous Mafia Tournament, a set of game run by Marquis
L-1, L-2...: The number of votes a player is from being lynched.
fos Finger of suspicion, for instance "fos on user A and user B as scumteam"

    A mafia wiki - http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Mafia_Wiki

Feel free to correct, improve or add to any of my definitions and suggest other terms and definitions that could be useful.

I don't think that would fall under advertising..
The wikis are used as an info source, not to show off their site and advertise, but you might want to ask a mod before posting.

also, what might be even more useful is adding a collection of links and tips for new players, sorted by importance.
