knew rioku was porkcho thought cheese wasn't fake though :| grats mike and grats to all final five!!!
I'm awake now. And gratz to -Mike-, the winner! The three fake aliases were Water, cheese, and 3.14. I'll probably do some awards once I edit the OP and the title.
Alright. So, this is the order that people got eliminated in, with the winner being at the bottom: [secret]ZoroDark- EGGPLANT zach33- Apple kyucumber- cucumber Marquis- Dodrio meeps- hot dog Windblown- Clefable Treecko- waffles Milost- Chardonnay tobyfant- Windblown uso- chicken mcnuggets PokeWorldBW- Bear Stew MetalGross- grapefruit Michu- Rice The Dude- John Dough IFM- Kippers Navidad Pirate- Peppers IceKirby- Dog Biscuit Hannah- deep fried koolaid Hopkirk- donut Water- ENCHILADA Ortheore- PIZZA Duster- russel crowe FELIX NAVIDAD- bacon Epikhairz- tyrenitr Rioku- PORK CHOP Michael Jenkins- NOODLES [/secret] And these are the people who correctly guessed aliases and how many they guessed: [secret]FELIX NAVIDAD- 5 Hopkirk- 4 Michu- 2 MeowMix- 2 -Mike-- 2 Treecko- 1 Windblown- 1 Ortheore- 1 uso- 1 Epikhairz- 1 Hannah- 1 [/secret] So now for the awards: The Snipe Award(guessed correctly on the first guess of the game): Windblown Eliminated the Most People: FELIX NAVIDAD Shouldn't have johned: MeowMix Most obvious alias: kyucumber (alias was cucumber) And obviously THE SUPREME OVERLORD: meeps -Mike- And that's it! If you have any more award ideas feel free to say so. Also please say what you liked about the game, what you didn't like, what could be changed, and if it was a good change from all the other regular forum games we do. Oh, and if I was a good host :P Thanks for playing!
"what could be changed": A setup where whoever gets half the aliases first wins so there's incentive to not just hide and it rewards people who guess correctly as opposed to just whoever is left at the end has the best chance of winning. This means the game is based around successfully guessing aliases rather than hiding as this one was. Congrats mike (i said he was winning a while back). Aj was a good host- though he sendsso many pms.
Well I had to send a PM when it was someone's turn or else people would john it. As you mentioned earlier Hop, you survive longer when you have a guess, as you cannot be guessed yourself. If I didn't send those PMs people would say stuff like "Oh I didn't check the thread, sorry". Since I sent the PMs that didn't happen really.
I got 5 (duster hopkirk ice orth water) e: aj was a spectacular host and the game was a lot of fun. The fake aliases were a cool touch as they kept the game real even in the final 3. Hop's right about hiding though. He had a good idea by threatening to guess back anyone who guessed him, but if you look at who lasted longest it was really helpful not to talk much in the thread.
Some suggestions for a possible next game: -Instead of adding 3 fake alias, ask every player to choose a real alias and a fake alias for themselves. If someone guesses you as your real alias, you join their empire; if they guess you as your fake alias, they join your empire instead. -Give some meaning to the empires. As it is now, this game could easily be reskinned as a "kill someone by guessing their name". Perhaps a player could have 1 extra guess for each 2 players on their empire (possibly chosen by the captured people)? -If you want to make the game quicker, you could make it so instead of one person having a public guess, all players would be able to privately guess at the same time by PMs (kind of the Night phase for mafia games). Of course, some other mechanics would be necessary to allow for information flow and stuff.
Oh right FELIX, I'll fix that now! Also, thanks for the feedback :) @Ice I'll consider those if I decide to host something similar to this again, they're great ideas!
oh yeah I forgot to post this Spoiler @Ice Personally I'd prefer to that one a system wherein each player picked a fake alias that didn't do anything when guessed, but if you were guessed by another person then they and only they would learn your fake alias. That might turn out to be too one-sided, though—maybe some of the older fake ones would have to be released publicly? tbh I do actually like the way that guessing people made us big targets in this game. I kept wondering if 9 or 8 or even 7 people was the right time to start a sweep toward endgame, which made things rather exciting for me.
