    Roles:

    Good Types

    Normal:
    Villager, can /copy one target during the night it has a 50% chance to work. If the target isn't a Good type or is another Normal-type it'll fail and has a one charge. If a target is copied, it'll get the same commands as the copied type but nerfed:
    Normal-Flying: 50% chance to inspect.
    Normal-Psychic: 50% chance to protect (doesn't safeguard).
    Normal-Ice: 50% to distract, a vote of 1.1
    Normal-Fairy: A vote of 2. Instantly dies it if poisoned, immune to Dragon and Normal-Dragon's daykills.
    Dies if it tries to copy the Fighting-type.

    Flying:
    10% chance to reveal exposer, can't be inspected by Ground.

    Psychic:
    can /protect during the night to protect from both kill and poison. 50% to get hax on Flying's day expose and 20% to get hax on daykills.

    Ice:
    Distracter, has a vote of 1.5.

    Fairy:
    Mayor with a vote of 4. Knows Dragon and it's immune to its daykills. Instantly dies if poisoned. Can poison to make someone die after 3 nights.

    Fighting:
    Vigilante.

    Dragon:
    A non-revealing daykiller, knows Fairy.

    As of right now, the village looks very small and generic. Actually, you literally just threw a couple of extra votes onto it. With all the interesting things we have now in mafia, a village that looks strongly default is not... appealing. Evil types and Earth types are very weak, being completely destroyed by the Elementary types. In fact, earth can almost not win at all if grass is alive and distracts any one of their killers. They have no extra votes, no poisons, and a very small team...

    I would take the Fairy type and turn it into a greeter role instead of being a mayor. A greeter role is a role that let's the target know who it is. It can lead to connections or trickery, both of which are good.

    I made some few edits:

    *Immunites:
    -Ground can't be nightkilled by Electric
    -Ghost can't be nightkilled by Fighting
    -Fairy can't be daykilled by Dragon (even though they know each other I put it just in case)
    -Normal is immune to Ghost nightkills, but it should take its Ring Target off which won't always work!
    -Flying can't be nightkilled by Ground
    -Steel immune to poison
    *Rock kills distracters now.

    Like I mentioned while we were talking, I think you should take the whole type advantage thing one step further. Add evasion chances and stuff for NV effective, and maybe even things like adding converts to make the role weaker or even mode.die if hit by something super effective.

    Hm.. 21 main roles, then filler villagers. I wouldn't say this theme is quite complete yet until you get it to a preset of 30 (can be reviewed) and then to 40. As it is now at max ~22 (assuming the 22 spot is acceptable), I wouldn't say this is complete. Furthermore, I believe it would be more fitting to switch up ghost. As it is now, because dark and ghost share, I believe the kill would still go through if Dark is in the game.

    Since types is fun and shit, I would recommend:
    A) Dual types - Win with two groups or has two powers associated with what you associated to the other types (weaker. So X-shot instead of full on.) Balance would be important.
    B) Doubling up on types, but possibly changing what they can do. For example, 'Water' could do one of two things. One could protect, another could heal (common associations of water.) And other things that fit in with types.
    C) Just add more types as they are now. Keep balance ofc.

    Thanks for all the feedback, but I believe about the NV effective thing stuff like Steel and Fire would be so broken imo.

    Btw my activity will decrease since my computer crasbed, I will start working on the theme again as soon as possible (Mods don't lock please)

    As Roild said, you do need to fix up the roles. It really gets to only 21, 22 if you include the villager, and again as Roild said, 30 is min for review. So essentially I'm repeating what he said.

    You could do doubles of roles, but that would be pretty mreh And essentially end up like large Zelda games, except yours would be medium up games.
    Dual Types would be cool, and could apply to work one side or another, possibly depending on the chance of spawn, ie the role is coded to be spawned 50% on one side or 50% on another.
    I dunno, just a thought.

    In terms of flavor, wouldn't make more sense to make Flying Type the BG and the Psychic type as inspector. I think your inspiration for a Flying Type as inspector is Hoothoot from Flock which is flying and a Psychic type as BG (Xatu, a bodyguard). Also, i like the idea of types but this is just a suggestion, but you can make each type the strongest Pure Typed Pokemon. For Example:
    Electric: Mega Manectric/Raikou.
    Fairy: Clefable/Xerneas
    You get my point. It adds more flavor without destroying the main concept of it being based on types because they're pure typed.

    About the spawn I made it repeat at 22. You can take a look at the spawn list now. The only thing I find a little broken is the 2 ???-Types but it may work with too many killers. Also the lack of villagers is also lame imo.

    About your idea Fiery Espeon, I think that it'll lose the meaning of "Types" and it'll be more like Pokémons. My idea about the theme was to be about pure Types.

    Just a suggestion, but have you thought of putting Rock's kill before Poison? The Earth types have only 3 roles on their side and they shouldn't be unlucky and end up killing the people that were poisoned. Vice versa, Poison , let's say for some reason, Poison and Rock are the only Mafia left and Poison can't effectively poison anyone because Rock keeps hitting the one he/she poisoned.

    OK so my first impression of the theme is that it seems like a massive PRfest. In a 22 player game, unless I counted wrong, there can be up to 7 kills n1, and in a 44 player game, that number doubles.

    Could you maybe try to soften the number of kills in a game and give some of the types another command? (e.g. ??? type be a converter instead?)

    You got a point there, so I made some few changes:

    -Electric can't kill during the first night now.
    -The ???-type is now a role like the Black Knight, can kill 4 people at the fifth night and afterwards and can also announce its presence during the 4th day.
    -Edited the Spawn a bit, the theme is now a midpeak as it ends during the 30th player.

    ???-type doesn't really have a fair chance to win with what you gave it. If you gave him some power like, inspects as a random village role or inspects as a villager he would have a fair chance of winning. On the other hand, you can also give him a voteshield of -5 that lasts until n4. This poses a good use to the Fairy type and it would be really unique if the most important player to get out the big baddies isn't just the Samurai, but the fairy type too.

    Alright, so, you have straight villagers after 22.
    I don't think that's the way to fix the spawn, just placing a shitload of villagers at the end of it.

    Even if you were to fix that, it'd end up just repeating roles again, which is frankly quite boring. This theme doesn't pop out that much, to me atleast. It's essentially giving roles the basics, and calling it a day. The ???-Type is a pretty cool concept, but that is really only it. You have some type immunities, but you don't really have super effective and the rest of the type immunities. I think adding those will make it a bit more fun, a bit more original, and a bit more strategic.
    Until that is fixed, it will be a Decline[1] from me.

    In my opinion, giving it a voteshield of -5 or something like that will only make it broken and will just make it easy for it to win since like 6 or 7 people stay alive until the 5th night of a 24 players game. So that will make it really broken especially with the high priority kill.


    Please check the spawn, it starts having players as of 25 which isn't an enough reason to say that it's boring, some themes like Death Note have a similar spawn and they run very well.
    You also said that I don't have all the type immunites, I checked again and they seemed to be all there (Psychic protect not working on Dark makes no sense in my opinion. About the super effective, when I had the idea of the theme I thought about making the theme based on the Pokémon Backgrounds (that is a game that RiceKirby hosted here few weeks ago) with all types starting with an amount of HP (like Animals). I discussed it with some users and they said that it's not that good and the theme will be rarely played like Animals. If you have a better idea, please state it.

    Fairy has a vote of 4 let I remind you, and any voteshield will be good enough but he will have a 0 vote so....I don't see how he's broken if you give him a -3 voteshield with the chance of inspecting as a villager.

    Protecting not working on Dark actually does make sense because type immunities, right? Why only have half ass accuracy of actual typings? And the better idea was the SE typings :]

    It's not only DN that does that, lots of themes have spawns lists like that and that hardly poses a problem. Caterpie's last new role comes at 22 players too, while Zelda only has Moon as a new role after 23 players. IMO, this is not a valid argument. Not having new roles after that count can actually be a good point, as it keeps the theme simple (as opposed to have too many roles that makes the theme hard to learn and play).

    If you are immune to a type, you are supposed to have an advantage when that type is used on you. Dark evading Psychic's protect would be exactly the opposite of that.

    Again, just because another theme does it does not mean it's a good idea. I personally get tired of DN, Caterpie, Zelda, all other themes that repeat after a certain point. Hence why I declined it because of my opinion. To me, there's no point in keeping everything simple. Yes, there is new people. It's not like we already don't have simple themes, however.

    I hadn't thought of the typings it that way, guess that's what I get for trying to QC while at work.

    I think that the playerbase prefers basic simple themes like DN and Zelda, hence they are ones the most common themes to be played.

    Sadly i have to agree with this statement for experience. I tried once to create a theme a little more complex based on resistence between magic and physical attacks and was pretty hated for its complexity. I am not sure what is the motive but i think that is connected to the fact that Server Mafia needs more simple and direct themes, because the time to think is limited and is nearly impossible to check too much variables. So probably a complex theme is more suited for forum mafi then on server mafia because of the time limit.

    It proves that it works, so declining on that basis contradicts lots of other themes that already got approved despite that (and some are even highly popular).
    It's a thing if you personally dislike that, but QC's job is not about choosing themes that you don't like to play, but about making sure themes have enough quality regardless of the reviewer's personal tastes.

    I think Withoutatrace was focusing on the fact that the roles are not that complex as some themes are. Vanilla is just Mafia and Villagers. But themes based on an actual idea, like this is based on Pokemon, they're far more complex. Like i said before as a suggestion, you should use something besides "Fairy, Normal, Dragon, ect" roles for more flavor. I first suggested using Pokemon but a better suggestion would be using Gym Leaders. Gym Leaders would be good for the flavor of this theme and they do fit as each Gym Leader are based on one type. So the inspector could be Sabrina, a Kanto Psychic Gym Leader. There are 6 regions with 8 gym leaders in each and I am sure you can find something for each. The only thing that doesn't have a Gym Leader is ??? and Dark. You can keep them pure and make them solo godfathers.
    There is also the fact that Dragon seems more like something from a Mafia team rather than a village one. I will give my judgement later after you follow suggestions and fix somethings. You should also be constantly updating your code on to the first post.

    Yeah, that would be one point, which is all good and why my Decline still stands, because to me it comes off as incredibly boring.

    The rest of the points that I made are moot since I am swallowing my pride and admitting I was wrong. It's a lot easier to think without having Volleyball moms yell at you..

    Obito, have you thought of something more complex for your theme? We gave you many suggestions and the fact is that in all but ONE of the Mafia themes uploaded on the sever(the one being Vanilla), all have complex roles. Even Default as some what of complex roles. I will give you in example:
    Ice, Dragon, Electric, Normal, Normal, Normal. (I am not following spawn). It seems much more like Vanilla, but with basic roles.
    Obito, keep in mind that every theme is unique in it's own way. You just have to find out how to make it better and more appealing. (I suggested using Gym Leaders, Pokemon)

    Yes, there has been. I would recommend using Gym Leaders. Solace and I were talking about and It would be a pretty neat idea if it was a theme with gym leaders classified by type and then in a team. I think you can just change some names and descriptions to fit gym leaders.

    So, I gave the Normal-type (Villager) the /copy command which allows it to copy one target during the night and that has a 50% chance to fail. If the target isn't a Good type or is another Normal-type or the Dragon-type it'll fail and has a one charge. If a target is copied, it'll get the same commands as the copied type but nerfed:
    Normal-Flying: 50% chance to inspect.
    Normal-Psychic: 50% chance to protect (doesn't safeguard).
    Normal-Ice: 50% to distract, a vote of 1.1
    Normal-Fairy: A vote of 2. Instantly dies it if poisoned, immune to Dragon and Normal-Dragon's daykills.
    Normal-Fighting: 50% chance to nightkill.

    Also, the Normal type doesn't need to /takeoff since it now has an immunity to Ghost-type's kill which got now a priority of 4.

    I like the idea of the copy command; it's always nice to see villagers getting some kind of command (in my opinion at least). However, since the village already has PRs, I might recommend you lower the success rate of the copy command (to what, I'm not sure, maybe 30% or something); then again, it is a one time use so maybe 50% is fine. It also adds a twist as I could clean or scum (say, if I am mafia) someone by saying "I couldn't copy Person A, they are either normal or mafia". Also, going off of what Sky Sentinel said, make it so a type has a chance to evade a command from a type that it resists (for example, fighting has a 20% chance to evade nightkills from rock; bug has a 20% chance to evade distracts from grass, and so on and so forth). The same goes for a type having an advantage over another type command-wise (for example, rock dies if fighting kills it even if rock is protected...not sure how you would code that though; another example could be ice's PL also has a small chance to kill grass, ground, flying, and dragon). One note I wanted to make is since flying evades inspects from ground, ground would still be able to figure out his target is flying (Person B evaded your inspect!)--I was thinking maybe you can code flying so that he inspects as normal if ground inspects him (not sure). Lastly, it'd be nice to see more commands incorporated into the game, such as pierce kills, exposes, revengers/revenge revealers, evasion, detox, identifiers, etc etc. (all of those maybe not necessary, just whatever helps the theme stand out more from other themes).

    Decline[2] This theme does not stand out in any particular way except for the fact that it's about types.
    To be up to par with current standards, your theme must have a decent flavor with a unique role or side. ??? is not unique because of Black Knight and future goals would be to, make this theme have more flavor, make unique roles and unique characteristics. This theme lacks most of the above so I must decline.

    So yeah, I like that so I made some changes:

    -Dark can now stalk
    -Dark converts into Empowered Dark if Ghost dies (Can kill and daykill)
    -Rock immune to every nighkill except Water, Grass and Fighting's kills.
    -Flying type can now inspect during the day, but has a 10% to reveal.
    -Psychic gets hax on day actions (Dragon and Dark's kills and Flying's fly)

    Also, the Rock-type now lost its voteshield but survive a lynch.

    EDIT: Fairy can poison to kill someone after 3 nights. Water is now a daykiller with a -2 vote and a safeguard that can use it on itself or its teammates.
