Turn 7 Battles: zach33 vs. meeps Michael Jenkins vs. Matt Ayala PokeWorldBW vs. RedJoker25 Marquis vs. Duster Obito vs. Xinc Due to having an odd number of players alive (11), The Dude will sit out of this turn. PMs sent, except for Xinc, whose inbox is full yet again, and The Dude, since he won't take part on this turn as stated above. Anyone else that didn't receive the PM for whatever the reason, contact me and I will re-send it.
I'm probably going to die this turn, so all I'm asking for is a super-super effective move to take down sir obito

That was really an OP special move. +20 is really OP. I hope you really realize how bsed it is... I am happy that I atleast made it to the top 6 :D
Normally, it wouldn't have mattered earlygame, but holy shit, Matt's gonna win this. I'm kind of pissed no one used a ground move on me when I had Magnet Rise on though. D: GGs

For now, I'd like to apologize for the now obviously unbalanced abilities. Being the first forum game I host, and even more with a untested game mechanic, it was hard to find those balance issues when creating the skills. The average damage per turn was lower than what I expected, but I couldn't change skills mid-game (as that would also be unfair to everyone), so I only noticed too late how some skills had been poorly balanced. It's not only Matt's Rest, but a few other skills were quite disappointing (e.g.: Absorb, to whoever used).
POST GAME I'm not sure what exactly goes on a post-game post, so here are some thoughts and game data. Some considerations: As I said before, I overestimated the damage per turn for this game. I expected more super-effective hits, hence the how Rest ended being too strong and Absorb too weak. You can just imagine my face when I saw no super-effective hits Turn 1 :x Other than that, there was more things that could have been done better in this game. Damage results, for example, had the HP gains from Absorb merged with them, but it would have been better if they always displayed as Rest did (+2 -2 HP). Also, having to send stuff by PM was really tiring, especially because of the 1 minute delay between PMs. It probably would have been easier if I had made a QuickTopic for each player and always posted the updates there. Game-wise, there were some moments I'd like to highlight: tobyfant using Conversion after everyone knew he was Ghost. He survived 1 extra turn thanks to that, especially because MetalGross was using Ghost-typed Hyper Beam, aiming for a 16 HP damage. Virizion using Mirror Move. Instead of using the Psychic type he had chosen, he attacked The Dude with Fighting-type, increasing his damage from 2 to 8 HP. PokeWorldBW was, in my opinion, the MVP for this game. He racked a lot of damage and people took a long time to find his weakness, and he even deliberately missed the deadline twice to use Normal-type attack instead of the types he had available. He could have won if he had timed his Encore move better. Angel Flonne receives the "Curse the Host" award for blaming me all the time for the types available (including at startup, which led him/her to be the only player to choose Bug-type as a defensive type). One of the intentions I had when I submitted to host this game was to add one more game format to the forum. Anyone is free to get this format and tweak however you see fit to host a new game. If anyone wishes to do so, here are some suggestions: -In my opinion, the main point of this format is that there are only a few numbers going around. No attack stat, no defense, no STAB, only type advantage and the special moves. If there was more stuff, it could end being too complicated and not worth as a Forum Game. -While hosting the game, I kept thinking how this game could have been better as a NOC Team game. Split all players into 4 teams, have players only battle players from other teams, and more importantly, each team with the ability to swap spot of 2 of their players every turn so they can avoid a super-effective hit. -A team-based format would also be easier to host, as instead of PMs, each team would have its own QT and all actions could be posted there. -I tried to keep it simple and only have special moves for some twists, but maybe held items or abilities could be used too. It would be harder to balance though. Well, for now, that is it. I apologize again for the balance issues, but I still would like to see some comments regarding the game format and if it was fun or not (you can be harsh, I won't cry (much)). Now for some of the game data: Trivia: -Rock-type was the only type not picked by anyone for defensive type. -Normal-type attack was only chosen once (or 3 times, if you count PokeWorldBW deliberately missing the deadline to use Normal-type). -Ranking of attack types used: Spoiler Normal: 30 Fighting: 12 Fire: 11 Ghost: 10 Flying: 10 Fairy: 7 Rock: 9 Water: 9 Ice: 9 Dark: 6 Grass: 6 Psychic: 6 Ground: 6 Dragon: 6 Steel: 5 Poison: 2 Bug: 2 Electric: 2 Total damage dealt, taken and opponents KO'd: All special moves: Spoiler Absorb: Once during the game, when sending your attack PM, you can choose to Use Absorb. For that turn, you will restore HP equal to half of the damage you deal on your opponent. Endure: Once during the game, when sending your attack PM, you can choose to Use Endure. You will deal half the damage you would normally, but you will survive with 1 HP if the opponent's attack would faint you. Conversion: Once during the game, when sending your attack PM, you can choose to Use Conversion [Old Type] to [Type]. [Old Type] must be one of your current types, while [Type] must be one of the types you can use to attack that turn. You will then lose your old type and gain the new type. If you only had 1 type, you can choose to add a new type or replace the old one. Shell Smash: Once during the game, when sending your attack PM, you can choose to Use Shell Smash. You will both deal and receive double the damage for that turn. Foresight: Once during the game, when sending your attack PM, you can choose to Use Foresight [Player]. You can choose any other player still alive to find one of their types. Magnet Rise: Once during the game, you will automatically receive 0 damage from a Ground-type attack (only for the first Ground Type attack used against you). Sunny Day: The first time you use a Fire-type attack, you will deal 50% more damage. The first time you are hit by a Water-type attack, you will receive 50% less damage. Those effects will only work once each, but can occur in different turns. Rain Dance: The first time you use a Water-type attack, you will deal 50% more damage. The first time you are hit by a Fire-type attack, you will receive 50% less damage. Those effects will only work once each, but can occur in different turns. Hyper Beam: Once during the game, when sending your attack PM, you can choose to Use Hyper Beam. You will deal double damage for that turn, but for the next turn your attack will deal 0 damage. Rest: Once during the game, when sending your attack PM, you can choose to Use Rest. You will restore 20 HP, but for this turn and for the next one your attacks will deal 0 damage (you still need to choose a type for those turns due to the possibility of other effects being applied). Hidden Power: Once during the game, when sending your attack PM, you can choose to Use Hidden Power [Type]. [Type] can be any type you want. For that turn, that will be your attack's type regardless of the choices you had for that turn. Encore: Once during the game, when sending your attack PM, you can choose to Use Encore. Your opponent's attack type will be the same one they used in the last turn (the opponent will be informed which type it was). Sucker Punch: Once during the game, when sending your attack PM, you can choose to Use Sucker Punch. If your attack faints the opponent on that turn, the opponent's attack will deal 0 damage to you. Mind Reader: Once during the game, when sending your attack PM, you can choose to Use Mind Reader [Battle]. [Battle] can be any battle occuring during that turn. You will be told the attacks each player in that battle used during this turn. Seismic Toss: Once during the game, when sending your attack PM, you can choose to Use Seismic Toss. Your attack will deal 7 HP of damage regardless of your attacking type or the opponent's type (you still have to choose an attacking type). Mirror Move: Once during the game, when sending your attack PM, you can choose to Use Mirror Move. If the opponent's attack type would deal more damage to themselves than your attack type, you will use the opponent's attack type for that turn (you will also be informed which type it was). Belly Drum: Once during the game, when sending your attack PM, you can choose to Use Belly Drum. You will lose 7 HP, but will deal double damage for that turn. Gratz Matt! It was a really good game and if I wasn't a lazy shit the first few rounds I could've done better lol. Maybe Rest should heal less or can't attack for one more turn idk I'm not good at this stuff.
