I've been working on this for a while. The code is mostly done, but I feel its kind of imbalanced, so I would like to get that sorted out before I finish. It's a Fairy Tail based theme that focuses around knowing your team fast. The more players the team knows the better the chance they have of surviving. The really interesting role is Ichiya. He can quickly turn the tide of the game in some cases, but I believe I curbed him enough to prevent him from breaking it. The power roles would be Natsu, Arconologia, Makarov, Jellal, Ichiya, Zero, and Zeref. I want it to start off somewhat slow and gradually build up as the game progresses. Hmm, I like it. All the luck (10% reveal on Arcnologia, transform rates on Ichiya, Faust 10% hax in Dorma, 60% reveal on Zero, etc) is a bit of a turn-off for me, considering that the roles pretty much have a completely luck-based chance to crash and burn or to become unstoppable/connected. 2-3 loners/one mafia is unique, I kind of like that, although the loners seem pretty underpowered in large games. What would a spawnlist for this theme look like? I'm not seeing very many roles, let alone 40. Also, I've never seen Fairy Tail anime or anything, so I can't comment on the subject.
The luck is my biggest concern for this. Arcnologia's hax rate is to keep him in check for larger games, but that could be removed if you think it would help. Jellal in theory at least seems to be able to perform surprisingly well. There are two roles that appear as Jellal, which should keep him from being mafia killed, and he has a vote bomb which should keep him from being voted off (giant screw you to Kuja Ichiya). I'll probably remove Zero's hax rate since it makes it a lot harder for the mafia to perform well. Dorma hax actually ties to the series since Dorma Anim is a giant meta Dragon mech that was resurrected to kill the dragon slayers. Dorma reveals to himself Natsu, Wendy, and Gajeel. I'm still working on the spawn list but here's a general idea of where I'm coming from: Small Game (8-12): Spoiler Fairy Tail: Natsu Happy Wendy Mage Mage (Mage Mystogan) Jellal: Jellal (in small games he looses his cover) Mafia: Zeref Hades Ultear (Ivan)[/HIDE] Ichiya is a pure luck role. He can actually become Kuja for the mafia. Because of this he would be in large games only, even though he is by far my favorite role in this theme.
And that is my biggest problem with this theme. 10% chance for a command to work or something is one thing, but this is a whole separate kettle of fish.
I don't think it's a bad idea per se, but it's completely luck based! And not just will I get hit luck based, or WIFOM luck based, or anything like that. It's completely RNG based! There's not a trace of skill to it. Something like an Egg in Dino where you get a fun role like Apato occasionally or you get a "boring" role like Ptero is one thing, but this is another. There's only CHANCE for it to be a usable role, otherwise it's worthless. At least in Dino no matter where you hatch you either have a team or you're a bad guy with actual actions. So in other words, do what you want, but I doubt QC will bite.
This idea isn't dead, I've just been busy. I think Ichiya is fixed. He has a 25% to become one of 4 useful, but not overpowering roles. So I think that makes him less luck based. Since he would be a large 16+ size role, I doubt it would have much impact on the game itself.
I've watched the show. Pretty fun and stuff. If you want any personal help/ideas, I could provide some. Ofc, while keeping everything great for mafia. Luck is always iffy, but isn't always bad. It just depends how you spin it.
