Sunny Daze For Piexplode, Ok this is a fun Sun TR team that's quite strong when played right. I peaked at 1300 a while ago so it's not completely gimmicky, also this is my first RMT so wish me luck XD Team at first look At a closer look Quick note: All pokemon have min speed bar Ninetails and Sunflora/Reuncilus have HP ice/fire respectively. BellX1 (Bronzong) @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 176 Atk / 36 Def / 44 SDef Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd) - Stealth Rock - Trick Room - Earthquake - Gyro Ball So Bronzong more or less sets up rocks/TR while getting an attack in. I like the EQ/Gyro coverage over self-destruct too as he can be a nice switch-in later on. I can't remember where I got the ev spread but it seems to work just fine. Nineproblems (Ninetales) (F) @ Air Balloon Trait: Drought EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Fire Blast - SolarBeam - Hidden Power [Ground] - Sunny Day So Ninetails generally leads if there aren't any other weather-inducers or Dragonites, I think. HP ground's for Heatran mostly and Fire Blast/Solar Beam is for extra power, I don't think I'm gonna change it soon. Sunny Day + Solar Beam for when your opponent switches in Politoad/Tyranitar. Cell (Reuniclus) (F) @ Life Orb Trait: Magic Guard EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd) - Trick Room - Psychic - Shadow Ball - Hidden Power [Fire] This guy rocks in my team, it usually always gets TR up. The movepools pretty basic except I have HP fire over focus blast. You'd be surprised how many people switch in Scizor to this thing. The only downside is I can't hit Tyranitar/Heatran (Houndoom too) for neutral coverage. :( Vinny (Victini) @ Charcoal Trait: Victory Star EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd) - Trick Room - V-create - Zen Headbutt - Bolt Strike Victini is the main powerhouse in this team, there really aren't any pokemon that can switch in on a V-create in sun. The set's a pretty generic TR sweeper set. The last moveslot was a toss-up between Brick Break and Fusion Bolt for coverage. The item Charcoal is a key in sweeping as it makes it possible to OHKO latios! Omega3 (Sunflora) (M) @ Expert Belt Trait: Solar Power EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd) - Encore - Giga Drain - Earth Power - Hidden Power [Ice] To be honest, Sunflora originaly inspired me to make this team. He's pretty hard to set up, but when you do, your opponent's gonna wet himself. The main drawback to Sunflora is his tiny defence but most rain teams don't have a physical attacker big enough to threaten him. In sun his Sp. attack reaches an unstoppable 508 and he has great coverage too! Encore is there to prevent pokemon from setting up or to troll your foolish opponent. Conkeldurr (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Sheer Force EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd) - Hammer Arm - ThunderPunch - Ice Punch - Mach Punch Conkledurr is a great counter to Tyranitar/Politoed in this team. His boosted T-Punch can catch many water types offguard while Ice Punch is great coverage, mainly Gliscor/Dragonite. This guy had fierce competion from Emboar and Druddigon especially. If you think Guts/Iron Fist is better pls say why! :) Btw I'm open to any suggestions but if you dis Sunflora Imma go apeshit. Now that's all out of the way, here's the biggest threat list imo: -Sand teams including Tyranitar seem to wall me, -Dragon types resist moves of my moves and have boosted fire type attacks, -Dark types can wreak havoc to this team -Mix the two types above and you get Hydreigon, a pain in the ass! (Shapedo gets a special mention too) -Baton Pass teams can be a pain sometimes with my lack of phazers (none actually) Here's the importable: Spoiler Probopass (Bronzong) @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 176 Atk / 36 Def / 44 SDef Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd) - Stealth Rock - Trick Room - Earthquake - Gyro Ball Nineproblems (Ninetales) (F) @ Air Balloon Trait: Drought EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Fire Blast - SolarBeam - Hidden Power [Ground] - Sunny Day Cell (Reuniclus) (F) @ Life Orb Trait: Magic Guard EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd) - Trick Room - Psychic - Shadow Ball - Hidden Power [Fire] Vinny (Victini) @ Charcoal Trait: Victory Star EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd) - Trick Room - V-create - Brick Break - Bolt Strike Omega3 (Sunflora) (M) @ Expert Belt Trait: Solar Power EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd) - Encore - Giga Drain - Earth Power - Hidden Power [Fire] Conkeldurr (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Sheer Force EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd) - Hammer Arm - ThunderPunch - Ice Punch - Mach Punch
Small changes, victini should use flame plate over charcoal [you get more of a boost], and you want bolt strike over fusion bolt [if you have an old version you may need to update to see the move]. Conkeldurr could run drain punch over hammer arm usually on the sheer force set. to increase its longevity, but this team is surprisingly offensive I think. Like your Ninetales, and I think HP Fire over Focus miss is probably a good move, though I don't see anything part from conkeldurr packing fight type moves, which may be of a bit of a disadvantage, but there's not much room on other sets for a fight move either. Just a general question, why giga drain over solar beam on sunflora? Sunflora MVP NB this team dies to BP chains, lame as they are.
nice team! how about try sunny day over zen headbutt on victini? it gets rid of rain and then you get a free kill basically
I really really like TR teams, just a couple of ideas: -Defensive Ninetales>yours: you can do well vs weatherless teams, but Rain and Sand teams are a pain, you lack a spinner or Xatu/Espeon so you can't even send Ninetales in too many times, also with such an offensive spread your Ninetales isn't able of switching into some attacks etc... Then Solarbeam is a wasted moveslot if you are still fighting for the weather. Ninetales' support movepool is pretty wide and it includes moves like Roar, Sunny Day and Will-O-Wisp so you could give it a try -Focus Blast>Shadow Ball: Focus Blast lets you kill Tyranitar, Shadow Ball lets you hit some and please notice just some Jellicents harder, Latwins and then a lot of pokemons not too common in OU (Slowbros, other Reuniclus etc...). Since you don't have too many weapons facing Ttar I'll run that -Bolt Strike>Fusion Bolt and move those 4 EVs into (S)Def -I prefer Iron Fist on Conkeldurr because it boosts Mach Punch and a stronger Mach Punch is always good when the TR vanishes, on another hand Sheer Force boosts T and IPunch more and gives you no recoil when you use these moves Good Job anyway!!
Flame Plate > Charcoal on Victini. You could try Sunny Day>Quick Attack unless you're really worried about Custap users which aren't that big of a deal imo. That allows you to hit Tyranitar/Politoed with a Super Effective Solar Beam if you Sunny Day while they switch in. you could try a more offensive Bronzong set with Normal Gem and Explosion.
Ehhhh. Flame Plate and Charcoal do the exact same thing, which is boosting the power of Fire-type moves by 20%. The only difference is when you Fling it Flame Plate does more damage, or when Arceus holds it. Neither of those are the case here so Idk what you guys are on about. Also I'd use Brick Break on Victini for T-tar and Heatran. Zen Headbutt has redundant coverage on Slowbro, Keldeo and Tentacruel with Bolt Strike anyways. You're not going to OHKO Terrakion after Rocks either, so just go Brick Break so you can 2HKO T-tar. Quick Attack on Ninetales is kinda pointless because Energy Ball + Fire Blast accomplishes exactly the same against Custap Skarm or Forretress, and Energy Ball is better than Solarbeam any day. I'd use W-o-W over Quick Attack so you can burn T-tar. Or even Hypnosis if you feel lucky. Nice Team ;)
Ok thx for the suggestions guys, I double checked and Flame plate/Charcoal both do 20% in Gen V. I fixed Bolt Strike over Fusion Bolt, I thought I fixed that a while ago..and I'm putting Brick Break over Zen Headbutt. I don't think Victini can set up sunny day anyway on that set. Ok so Ill try SunnyBeam on Ninetails over Quick Attack. I never actually thought of using a weaker attack first lol! (fail) Ill think I'll keep Shadow Ball over Focus Blast for now, cuz I already added Brick Break and Sunnybeam Ninetails. As for Conk I prefer the Sheer Force over Iron Fist, Btw BP teams are a bitch to fight unless I find a way to muscle through them, I don't know what to change..
Lol this team kicked my ass in the tour the second you encored. Beautiful team, just a small nitpick. If you are facing difficulty with bp teams (it's only normal because its bp in the first place), Roar>HP ground on Ninetales, this phazes sweepers which might very well save your ass in the match. Sure, you lose coverage on Heatran, but really HP ground is not going to 1hko it in the first place.
